Nice job, if white anti light leak foam becomes a bother, you can paint the foam with watered down black acrylic paint. Blk markers are good too but the paint is the preferable material
@@NordicLab I was glad to see another unit . I work on darkrooms and equipment often and I just found it cheaper than buying ready made parts, to do as you did. Sometimes I go for weather stripping. All the best 🙏
Hi Aleksander , I noticed in this video, that when your durst 605 is on, it leaks light from the sides of the enlarger head. Could this affect the quality of the print?
In reality yes, in previous videos i fix some of them, but even before it was not a problem. Light from lens and light from enlarger leaks just like millions times brighter because of the distance to the print. But if you make like 40 seconds exposure maybe it will be a problem
Aleksandr, thanks for the video. I just ordered M605 from UK, which is expensive. I’m bit worried now. I wonder if I could buy the Intrepid led enlarger. But I still like the grand look of M605. Do you think I can still find parts like light bulb, in eBay for a reasonable price?
Find parts kinda easy, it’s not a lot of parts actually, but i think Interpid enlarged will not last and i think even in the year it will be scraped. Durst even of compleatly broken most of the time it’s electronics - so replace cable, replace bulb and lets go - rest of the things cast aluminium. If you even compare it to new copy stands it’s cheaper to buying enlarger and just remove head 😂 You can also check my videos about repairs and how it looks inside.
@Aleksandr, I’m so happy with the M605. I made a 12v switching timer using Arduino and got rid of the step up transformer. One issue I have is the negative carrier glasses have tiny scratches. Replacements are expensive. I will try to 3d print the masks and see. Every single thing you describe in your videos I’m going through now, e.g. newton rings :). One thing I’m still trying to understand is the marking on the enlarger column, f50, f80, inches and some measurements. I wonder if you have done a video about that? Thank you again for valuable technical videos.
Fotoimpex, macodirect, nordfoto. I definitely need advertising from them because i recommend them so many times. Paper a bit harder, i buy it as rolls, so i have huge amounts of it
@@waveril5167 color you have to cut in pitch black or you can use a color safelight if you are brave enough. black and white can be cut with a more common darkroom safelight, though it's cheap enough to buy pre-cut from Ilford or others.
@@sebastianboyes4709 Yes, that i know :), but how do you cut the ra4 Paper? In the dark with a tool or what? How do you get straight paper cuts. Yes, I think only color Paper is worth it. The Prices on b&w rolls are huge.

Actually it’s okay and work for now.
Thx for support!

Ótimo vídeo, tenho um Durst M805 vou fazer uma limpeza e manutenção nele!

Hi, in my durst 605 color one of the gears that rotates the filter rack is broken, do you think it is possible to adapt a different one?
I don’t think so, only if you have second one or can 3d print it
@@NordicLab thank you. I'll try to make a 3d print

@@NordicLab That’s what I wanted to hear! 😂 Thanks. Could you recommend a good 110v step up transformer?
And also small remarks, if they using RGB led its not real color enlarger, you will never get good color separation.

Hi Aleksander, great job and video!
Also, where are you getting your paper and chemistry for RA-4 ?
Hugs!
look at fotoimpex

This is so creepy. I just searched how a color head works on youtube yesterday....... then you release this video. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
