Also if you're driving fast, you know you'll be in the power band when you drop a gear. When I "downshift" in my 18 accord, it's just a suggestion and the car downshifts if the right conditions are met. I never know when it will actually be in the power band, when I had my 6 speed GTI I would just rev match down a gear and instantly be in power. Was really nice for cutting through traffic and for when I had to heel toe downshift approaching a curve
@@joemama7031 exactly you have completed and utter control over the car with the manual. you can shift from 5th to 1st and destroy your transmission if you wanted. No computer to stop you. Nothing beats the feeling of a perfect rev match down shift and then speeding away. I feel so lost driving a car without a clutch and shifter.

Good driving, but I think you could have started at a higher rpm.. some races the engine would bog and struggle until hitting higher revs.. around 5k is a sweet spot and shifting quick after that, other accord would’ve caught up but you could’ve got the jump more aggressively
This has nothing to do with automatic or manual, he has more power then you slightly, it seems. You can see you pulling then he got on it, and just out torqued you some how.

Many of us don't get to do track days but maybe once a year, if that. So, if I'm to have fun with my car, it's got to be during my daily commuting. A few rips to redline on straight roads is all the fun I get to have most of the time. Why should I worry about RWD handling dynamics and how prestigious the badge on my car is? I'll stick with my Honda, thanks very much.

Ive got a friend with a 2012 accord , and even with 4 people in the car, it seemed suprisingly fast from the backseat.
Except that the manual is 10 times more fun to drive.

We was doing 40 & a couple 20. I was in 2nd gear every time. You can’t downshift to first while moving.
