@@agirlandherpassport How are they different? Also - already looking forward next video! Would you consider, if you haven't yet, covering the same way neighborhood of Petralona and Kaisarini? 💛
@@AmericanDreamer They are more outside the norm usually. I have seen some unusual things happen in this neighborhood in the middle of the day as well. I have done Kaisarini a long time ago. Petralona is on the list.
Solidarity with all those who struggle against oppression and for autonomy. I was trying to find out more about the anarchism, since I just learned about how they sell a lot of goods that were made by the Zapatistas, and I found that really interesting. Considering Mexico and Athens are a little far from each other hehe.
I wish the graffiti would stop..for me, it ruins everything!! It gives the place a rundown look!! But I still liked Exarchia!! The greeks don't know what a bad dangerous area is!! This area is mild in comparison to my home country of South Africa!I never felt intimidated by any area in Greece!!But as usual your videos are entertaining and informative!
An interesting neighborhood. The museum can't be missed. I am pretty sure that I cried when I saw the Mask of Agamemnon. EXCELLENT video. Thank you Tiffany! Ευχαριστώ.
i loooove the cafe inside the museum. You do not need to purchase a ticket to go to the cafe. You just tell them at the security that you are going to the cafe only
Great and informative videos!!. We are planning to visit April 1st week 4 days in Athens 3 days in Santorini with family (3 teens). How is the weather in April 1st week? will it rain a lot? Thanks
Thank you. It is hard to say as some years it’s raining and some not. Be prepared for both. The rain doesn’t usually last long though. Santorini will be very quiet at that time of year and could have cooler winds at night. It definitely won’t be beach weather then.
I love Greece 🇬🇷 but I hate all that graffiti around, is like a illness that never ends unfortunately 😞 Beautiful architecture, beautiful history from ancient times and the graffiti destroys everything, is a shame actually, not appreciation for what they have. But I blame he authorities for not enforcing the law, give big penalty to who ever do those things and the other ones will Stop, but the authorities will never do anything, only what it benefits them 🤷🏻♀️
Thanks for your explore ,in my past living in Athens it was very sake ,keep in mind I'm American.,it's far more dangerous in our country ,two or three shootings daily in pgh pa.,were I live ,race wars ,shut downs ,entire city's full of drug infested neighborhoods ,homeless camps for entire city blocks ,many blocks and whole city's ,,I'm not calling anyone out ,I appreciate your truthfully review ,it's in every city in the states as well .🙏👍be safe ,look for your next explore .
I understand what you are saying but Exarchia can be dangerous during a protest. The protesters tend to throw Molotov cocktails. Well some protesters not all.
Graffiti in Athens should equal jail time. Effectively Immediately, no plea, no bond, no trial. MONTHS in prison. And if caught again, YEARS in prison.
I have a good friend who lives there and yes in her younger years she was an anarchist. When I was in Greece I would go often to visit her. They have/ had some nice shoe shops in Exarchia. Everything you said was spot on. At night it gets a little dicey, wouldn't feel comfortable walking around. I remember the heavy police or riot police presence. It's very close to the city center which would make it a nice place to live, but not.
@@agirlandherpassportMy friend mentioned there was heavy objection to the location of where the metro was to be built. It looks like they are going to continue with the same location. That location makes it great for people who want to get off the train and be right at the square and sit somewhere for dinner.
@@muddywaters538 Yes, although I don't know if only the location was the issue. I think they didn't want it at all. I could be wrong though. It is hard for me to follow the news sometimes.
Exarchia has been a safe haven for marginalised communities, from refugees, LGBTQ s, political dissidents etc. It should preserve it's identity. Whether i would like to live there, no, just the noise of the occasional battle between protesters and police would make very anxious. I'm very sensitive to sounds. Anyway, thanks for the video and enjoy your 2024 travels both local and international. Cheers
I wouldn’t move there either but mostly because there is no metro! I love the restaurants in the area and the atmosphere but I imagine the noise isn’t nice when there is a protest. Thanks. You too!!

yes, love graffiti in Athens 🔥
Love Exarchia, its mood, street art. Even having coffee and watching people. Love this anarchist part of Athens.
It’s a great place to watch people. Especially as the people are different than the rest of Athens.
@@agirlandherpassport so true. I love this area

It’s so pretty down there!
I used to go in Exarchia when i was a university student in order to party in some underground clubs.
Historic times
They probably still exist but have probably moved a few times.

Part of it stems from the crisis in my opinion. Kids who have no money and too much free time. Now it’s just a habit with no consequences.
An other great vlog to start the year off Happy New Year dear

There are still police there every time I go. Usually around the square. I do wonder if the metro will change it or not. Only time will tell.

I love Greece but I think the graffiti is disgusting!
It’s not pleasant but you have to find the good stuff in everything.
There's nothing good about graffiti - it is just vandalism and it is a Greek national disgrace that they accept it.@@agirlandherpassport

All the graffiti/tagging is the worst blight on Athens, in my opinion.
Yes !
I don't think that is the worst thing in Athens. The worst thing is the historic buildings abandoned and the goverment doing nothing to save them
