I have spent 2 holidays in Athens and stayed at the brown acropol hotel in omonia square, never once felt unsafe, yes it is a bit run down but the people of omonia in my opinion are super friendly and so glad to see tourists, will definitely go back
It's a great promotion, the shooting quality is very nice and smooth, I felt as if you were coming, besides the promotion, the consultancy is going well, we look forward to the continuation.
Athens at night was one of my favorite experiences in Greece. The city felt ALIVE at the latest hours. I'll admit I stayed away from Omonia Square because of warnings given to me by one of the taxi drivers. I am hoping things have changed and am hoping it is better than how he knows it. I would love to be able to explore more at night.
One of the most dangerous areas in of Athens by night. If you still away this area and Acharnon avenue then you're good!!! The rest of Athens is great!!!
Before travelled to Athens, I didn't know about Omonia's fame. After the reservation I watched a lot of videos like this making me get into fear. Well, After 4 days sleeping in Omonia's área, specifically in street "Averof" Next to Nacional Archeological Museum, we have not experienced nothing bad with people. Maybe one or two drug addict in the street, but nothing impressive or feeling dangerous. We have walked through the street "28is Oktovirou" and "Patision" at 23h at night with no problem
I live in Athens. I don’t think it’s “dangerous” compared to other large cities in Europe. You should just avoid the side streets around Omonia, especially at night and be alert if walking there during the day. The only thing I can say about downtown Athens is, I feel it’s dirty! Too much graffiti and it’s a bit depressing as a whole. I like to go to Plaka, they keep that nice because of the tourists, and the areas around Parliament are well kept. The other parts of Athens I find kind of dirty and depressing.
I have stayed in Omonia years ago. I has certainly improved but the side alleys are scary at night and most are non Greeks running dodgy dealings. Stay on the main road and hotel zone and you wil be fine. Still Prefer Syntagma which is a lot more cosmopolitan but omonia has improved thanks to Local Council but still not there yet.
I'm from the Netherlands i moved to Vyronas to stay far away from the center to many criminals in that area, I do not need to look over my shoulder while going to church
Okay, I have commented on omonia before and have since watched other vlogs and there opinion from all around the world ,so here is my honest opinion to anyone who has visited ,were you come from is there graffiti and homeless people who through no fault of their own have hit rock bottom as my dad used to say it's only a short step from park Avenue to skid row it can happen to anyone, I found the people in omonia super friendly and never ever felt threatened once walking from my hotel either during the day or at night, the people of this district are trying there hardest to promote a place were people can come and have walking access to everything Athens has to offer, maybe take a look at your home town and think is it any safer than omonia, I know and everyone knows by the media you can have just as much worries in every city in the world, I felt safer in omonia than I do walking my home town in England on a Saturday night
I completely agree. Every country in the world has different cultures and perspectives. What matters is not just the place, but the people and their past experiences. Saying that Omonia or any place is completely safe or unsafe is a flawed perspective. What's important is the individual's perspective and their experiences of the day. Discovering new places with a language of love, without prejudice, is the best way. Thank you for your valuable comment.
Ich liebe Athen!❤❤❤
Athen ist einer der schönsten Städte Europas,!
Ein Nachtleben das unvergleichlich in Europa ist! Wirklich WOW.

depending when would not advice you to walk here at night
Worked there, don’t recommend being there late at night.
I used to think like this before, but if you saw London… Omonia is safer than any area in London.
@@Omiwalk You do not know Greece well enough to say something on this matter if you lived here for some time you will uncerstand
More than dangerous I would say dirty.

Very dangerous city would see the Parthenon and move on. Not much to see but filth and crime even in most suburbs
Were are you from?
@@peternorris3286 He's probably from a Greek provincial city with a chip on his shoulder
Athens has to be the most hated city😢.
Often burned,vandalized,graffiti smeared,littered ..
Why?
Athens might need a makeover! Maybe a city-wide graffiti art project could turn things around.
It has to do with many factors u need to live here to understand, I'm a journalist from the Netherlands meet with many to talk about the problems here
Not great but nothing compared to Paris or London
I totally agree especially London is most dangerous city
