Hey. I like your channel very much. I’m following I believe 3-4 years and You helped me quite a bit. Thank you
Thank you for this video. We're headed to Athens in a few days and we're looking forward to it.
I love when you film in Athens at different times of the year. I would love to be there in April, but my teaching schedule doesn't let me, so we have to always go in the summer. Perfect weather right now! Cheers.
Oh my goodness , ty for this video . We are going in 9 days . These ferries cancelations are stressing me out . We are coming back to Athens the night before our flight but still
You’re welcome. Don’t stress. You are doing it the way you should.
Thanks for the video! Weew heew! There next week. I love the Santouri player on Aero Pagitou ❤
In days of old Athens was always a place that you passed through rather than stopped at but the UK press and I suspect the press/media in other countries are now pushing Athens as a destination in its own right. Thanks for the video.
We went to MS Roof Garden twice during our trip to Athens last month. We had a great view and perfect picture window table with a view of the Acropolis at sunset both times.
@@agirlandherpassportI wondered how we got so lucky both nights, a week apart. Now I feel extra blessed.
I really appreciate your videos. They made me feel much more confident negotiating the city solo. The only strange moment I had was walking to the National Archaeological Museum. Google maps sent me to a building just south of it which led me to a graffiti filled courtyard of a university or something that was like a communist or anarchist/Antifa encampment!! Surreal…but one block more and I made it to the Museum.
@historical_lisa315 You were. I’m so happy to hear that. It’s a university. As you saw it’s close but not sure why Google maps sent you there. You made it though!
Visiting for 5 days from New Zealand in October and staying in Koukaki ...your vlogs have been invaluable thanks
The weather is perfect. I wish we in the Netherlands had some of this beautiful sun ❤
For better rooftop views. Try the Attalos Hotel and the Athens Center Square Hotel. Both on Athinas Street. Drop dead gorgeous views of the Acropolis.
The Attalos usually doesn’t let you go up if you aren’t staying. There are tons but I was tired so this is where I under up.
We are in Athens, thank you for your video, I watched them before we came to town. Super helpful informations, thanks again. 🌹🌹
love visiting Pireas while being in Athens. These walks around the port area and further up and down even to Limani Zeas and Peiraiki are amazing.
As a local in Piraeus I suggest to stroll to the two sides of port of Zeas. On the right you will come about to the Merchant port. While on the other you will reach the smallest of three ports Pireas has the Mikrolimano port where only fishing boats are and small yachts. Finally going up the hill of Kastella late in the afternoon and staying for a dinner to one of the restaurants on an evening summer especially is a must. On the terrace of Rigas restraint or on the balcony of Ladokolla you will find the best view in Attica. Almost all of Athens is visible and a big part of its Riviera.
@@Rousseau4469 As I am a Greece and Athens lover I know all these places!
Not sure if you've ever done a video walking through a Laïki. I remember seeing videos of stuff you bought in Laïki. I like shopping there even though not necessarily cheaper than a supermarket
They have been in several. It is usually is cheaper but it’s seasonal.
Dunno maybe because we've had an extremely mild winter this year but tourists have been in Athens all this year it seems. I've gone to the center quite a few times along with my kids and it seemed to me to be always crowded with tourists.
Even with winter being normal, I think it’s still mild relatively so they come all year to Athens but it seems more every year.
Easter is approaching, that's why.
These are mostly foreigners so I don’t think they really come for Easter. Some do but not all.
Looking forward to your Poros video! I’ll be spending a few weeks there this summer.
Thank you. I just came back from Athens. I've been contemplating the idea of doing a long term airbnb stay, you know a few months for a while. But then I keep asking myself "Do you really want to be in a crowded city? Is that what you want?" The answer is I guess sometimes yes sometimes no. Do you know Blueground? Have you ever rented a place with them? It looks a bit expensive but the flats are really nice.
I have not rented from them as it’s very expensive. If you are only doing a few months then it’s a good option.
Well the distance between Poros and Galatas is so small that I doubt it has a ferry. At best a big boat or a speedboat is doing all the transportation. Don't know though if there are buses for Athens but for sure a taxi can transport someone to Corinth and from there you certainly can take a bus to the Central station by Kifisos river.
There are small ferries that run between Galatas and Poros. There are buses to Galatas. I would never mention this if it wasn’t based on research.
Random question, where did you buy your air conditioner and did they also provide a technician? I remember watching one of your videos several months back, but I can’t find it.
I bought it at Leroy Merlin and paid for installation when I bought it.
Nice Vlog! Thanks a Million... I was wondering how weather is in Athens in Spring... as I will travel there next week form California and as a L.A. Girl, I don't own a "suitable" cold weather coat / jacket. Can you tell me if I can get by with just wearing a thick hoodie with a windbreaker on top of it? lol lol Thank you. :D
You’re welcome! It’s not cold but at night you will want a jacket so a hoodie should be fine
I am heading to Chios first and then Athens
Can you go to other suburbs of Athens like kifissia please and show us
I don’t know it very well and I don’t think there is much to see.
The old Athens has nothing to do with the Athens of today. In 2000 and after, many illegal immigrants and people from Africa, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria, Egypt, Albania, Georgia entered Greece, crime increased sharply, there are areas in Athens that have become ghettos and you cannot pass through there, in general there is the image of Athena is very spoiled
@3:04. I see the concessions stand. They sell all BUT water. A big scam if you ask me.
I think the water is sold in a vending machine. It is at the other entrance.
Way too many tourists for my liking! 😫😂
@@agirlandherpassport That’s good. I leave for Greece on Sunday! I’ll be in Crete, Sifnos, Koufonisia, Amorgos, Iraklia, Samos and then Athens for a week. I’m tired already 😂😂
can you do a patras, kalamata and zikinthos adventure tour please..!
You are a trooper to wait for an hour for the ceremonial changing of the guards 🙌🏽
It was worth it. I love seeing it.
