I think he has more talent than he lets on. His job is to get you making an honest effort painting so that you can bring out what aptitude you do have. Gosh I'm so uncoordinated at drawing and painting it's just about unbelievable. What I like best is watching others do it, I find it so soothing....

Instead of being great artist Bob Ross was great presenter and teacher of art. Those are much rarer breed. He was good artist in skill, but being great artist more is needed.
Mr Bob Ross was a special man giving us not only his talent and skill of painting but also his means of calming the tensions and stress many people go thru each and every day. All you have to do is sit back and watch Bob Ross and you will see how by his painting and his words will make you feel so relaxed and calm that you will forget the stress and tensions of the day you might have went thru. He was this kind of genius and will never be replaced.
After the death of his father. Steve stopped painting and once wanted quit painting all together. He stated that he was in such pain he thought of committing suicide by flipping his car over. I'm glad he is still painting and teaching today.
I thought it was a young Bob Ross, not at all what I expected. Pretty much the same incredible talent just different delivery of banter. Not too shabby as they used to say.

I think he has more talent than he lets on. His job is to get you making an honest effort painting so that you can bring out what aptitude you do have. Gosh I'm so uncoordinated at drawing and painting it's just about unbelievable. What I like best is watching others do it, I find it so soothing....
And here I was thinking Bob Ross flat ironed out his hair (or his perm) just for this one episode for some reason. XD

Instead of being great artist Bob Ross was great presenter and teacher of art. Those are much rarer breed. He was good artist in skill, but being great artist more is needed.

He was this kind of genius and will never be replaced.

Just saw the documentary and I understand how Steve feels. His father worked for years to leave a legacy and make sure his family would benefit from.
After the death of his father. Steve stopped painting and once wanted quit painting all together. He stated that he was in such pain he thought of committing suicide by flipping his car over. I'm glad he is still painting and teaching today.
He talked like his father, he repeated things his father said, so I can see why he would feel lost without him. He loved his father.

I thought it was a young Bob Ross, not at all what I expected. Pretty much the same incredible talent just different delivery of banter. Not too shabby as they used to say.
