He promoted “anyone can do this” and made hundreds of thousands of paintings
Thts the genius in Bob Ross, he wasn’t a Leonardo who spent 20 yrs on same painting.
26 mins and bam…..masterpiece at a distance, terrible close up😅
So, in turn, he gave many away, threw many out, it was television after all.

@@LolaLove44 Im not saying they havent been greedy or that Ross should never have made that absurd deal with them. But he did. That is the point. That's why they won in court. They own his name and his likeness. That is what he gave up when he made a death deal.
And he had children already, It says a lot about him that he would even do something like that. He didnt even think of his son. It was the two couples, each a 25% owner. If anyone died that person's shares are split among the survivors. He should have said No Way!. The shares stay in the family. Your family has half and we have half. But he didnt do that even he could have very easily done so. Just by speaking up. I find that very revealing of his character that he didn't. .
Business agreements are legally binding. I think it's very sad, but I also think there is a real chance the world would never have learned who he was and he would never have become a millionaire without their efforts. He was very focused on his painting and that is all he wanted to do. He was not very business savvy. He knew he would die young and still made that absurd deal. So yeah, it sucks. Im not saying it doesn't, but it is what it is because of the choices Ross made. He should have thought of his children. So who should we blame? If the Kowalskis had both died in a car accident, Ross's children would now control things. It didnt work out that way,, and I put that squarely on his shoulders.

No one forced him to do that. Stop making excuses. Im not defending their behavior, Im only saying business agreements are legally binding. And he knew that when he made that agreement. He did not even think so much as to include a clause to provide for his son, who was already born by that time! That's not _victim blaming_ that's the reality. I watched this 2 years ago & thought something was off because I wondered why Bobs son had no part in this. Funny how the Kawolskis act like theyre so innocent and care about Bob & his paintings by introducing themselves through this as these great friends of Bob but its was all to PROTECT THEIR IMAGE. They didn't even attend his funeral, and tried to keep his death a secret to rake in MILLIONS and still do to this day. This is not what he would have wanted. The Kawolskis robbed the ROSS family, and the JENKINS of so much. Bob would not have wanted this at all and these greedy people are in it for the money. Bobs passion was to teach people and spread art and joy. Seeing them talking so highly of Bob with a smirk and a laugh all while knowing Bob is looking down seeing they went against his word, ruined so many lives and destroyed so much is actually the most dark and twisted thing i've seen in a while. They were never Bobs friend, and there is so much injustice to one of the most iconic and famous painters in recent times. Money cant buy a good soul & heart of gold, thats what Bob had that was so special and its ironic that the family that aggressively fought with evil and greedy intentions to own his name is the opposite of that. I am truly horrified. WATCH THE NEW NETFLIX DOC, STOP SUPPORTING BOB ROSS INC. & START DEMANDING JUSTICE FOR THE ROSS FAMILY AND THE JENKINS.

I don’t think you could make a museum with all of just one artist especially with about 3 paintings per show it would get redundant. It would not hurt to show a little charity. They can make provisions that the art cannot be sold, given, or gain any profit from it. Who knows ?it can inspire children and adults to start painting and get more of his supplies from their business.

Watching that, then watching this and knowing the Kowalskis are full of horse crap is just infuriating. The NY Times should really rethink this video and if it's something they want to stand behind.
While every story has many sides, the way BRI is represented as some 'happy accident of a company which oh geez, just gives the people what they want because Bob would have loved his paintings on a toaster' is obviously a load of BS.
I remember watching this years ago and thinking how cool it was they had the paintings and wouldn't sell them. But it's obvious now BRI loves to push that narrative to make it sound as if they live by some sort of ethical code.
And their daughter is off-putting and comes off as insincere. Interestingly she seems to be the exact opposite of Bob Ross.

God I can’t watch this the same way after seeing that Netflix Documentary. The people currently running this company are evil, despicable people. They will never see another dime from me and I sincerely hope their shameful business crumbles to the ground.

Did you all know that Bob Ross was a master sergeant in the Air Force. After that, he promised to never scream again.
