Welcome to the hobby bro. You remind me of a new guy at my local track about ten years ago. Everyone made fun of him because he looked different and talked different from what everyone was used to. He kept at it and was set on learning everything about the hobby and within a year or two he was one of the fastest guys on the track. Nitro can be overwhelming at first, but give it time and engine tuning and electronics tuning will come naturally. Keep at it!
Always turn the radio/controller on first before you turn the car on. If not that car can take off on his own💨💨💨 and you'll have no way in stopping it💯💯💯
@@cradz4979 Bro it doesn't matter if it's nitro, gas, electric etc...I've been in this Rc world since I was a kid and I'm 42yrs old now. I've had my car run off on me with electric and nitro, and since then I've made sure the majority of all my radios/controllers have "Fail Safe" etc💯💯💯

You like bikes idle too, but this is also RC cars. It's very addictive to you too. Once you get to running them you want to go faster. You want to jump higher and you keep getting into it
You like the sound of the nitros because you like motorcycles and that's something that makes the sound that you like. But like one of the guys said don't rule out the electric. You'll like them better because you can run electric inside and you can run them outside. Nitros can be similar to weed wackers they can be very very temperamental
I dont think he cares probably did this just for conent an knows he gettin all that money back 😂 but i didnt dog my Hpi like that when i got it new i followed directions like a basic bitch😂
You got it running way to lean, especially with it being new. The fuel is what lubricates the engine. You should be seeing a blue trail of smoke at full throttle. If you keep running it like that you may damage the engine.
Be sure you do your heat cycles. After each run I would bring your piston down to low pinch with the fly wheel so when it cools it will keep your cylinder tighter for longer life.
I got my first Jato in 2005! It was the 2.5 version! Get the rechargeable battery and put it under the engine. There's a compartment for it, and you can charge it next to the receiver box. And by the way, you dont have to do all that with the radio and receiver, ALWAYS turn the radio on first, and then turn the car before you start the engine! 💪🏾👍🏾👊🏾✌🏾✊🏾💯
Nicely done as an ex racer and tuner, always turn the controller on 1st,when it's a new engine there's a break in procedure where you do1/4 throttle or so and drive 2 tanks of gas through the block before WOT etc. When tuning the engine itself don't adjust anything until the engine is at operating temp between 200 and 220 or so then you get a better tune and you want to run it rich for those 1st few tanks to fully coat the engine during the break in period. And the servos need to be reversed is all then the controller is doing the backwards thing but great watching you learn and tune bro. BOTH gas and electric are fun. Enjoy..MD in the house.❤
@@djjoeykarma2898one my biggest regrets is getting rid of my nitros. I sold my Losi MT TEN Nitro truggy in 2012. They discontinued and can’t even find em for sale anymore 🤦🏿♂️
Yaaah buddy, sent it straight outta the box! Tho, it will give you some experience in rebuilding an engine when it does warp and something bends, Its all a learning experience dude! Next time, giver a tank of idle on first start, then slowly each tank giver more and more, and that way you'll work the engine in, and nothing should warp or distort unintentionally.
You have to calibrate your throttle and then do some tuning and then you have to run 2 or 3 tanks of gas without driving JUST LET IT RUN. That’s with all nitro ‼️ HAVE A BLAST bro 💯
Push the throttle forward for reverse. You will never be done tuning that. I’m never done with mine. Then start looking for high performance parts. A pipe, gears, tires. It never stops!
Also the screw that u turned next to the blue cylinder the one that sticks up with the black plastic is for ur lean and rich adjustment it sounds like ur running it a lil lean
Oh u gone do some tuning this the game u in ...most guys that hate this process of nitro rc if u a real engine head it won't be a problem for u to pick this up shoudnt gun your motor before u break the engine in u have to slow down and run a few tanks through it first..u have your throttle trim may be backwards on your transmitter
Welcome to the RC world my guy. Don’t forget you have to break in that engine. 1: Run 2 tanks through with no throttle. Just sitting on something with the wheels of the ground 2: run 2 tanks through at a quarter throttle (don’t punch it) just good even throttle 3: run it like crazy though a full tank . Then let there motor cool. 4: have fun and don’t forget to keep your air filter clean. Just some tips my guy 💪🏾💪🏾
After owning several gas and nitro cars/trucks just give me the straight battery ones now...they are faster and way easier to maintain..I hated tunning mine
Man any question you have you can look it up on youtube or google. Just like full size vehicle's most things have to be fine tuned to get them to run at the best. Also when tuning, use small incremts like an hr at a time. Good luck!
I don’t care for the electric rc, simple because I like to hear my motor with my aftermarket muffler. Then I add smell good to my fuel tank, that Revo 3.3🔥
It bogged it is lean. You got the right idea, tuning i do it all by ear . Id tell ya anything and would love to chat i been rcing for 35 yrs . Its great man. Maybe a bit richer a light trail of blue smoke it great. Temp guns best for bytro its a must so you can lean it but not be to lean. I can do it by ear but sometimes you dont want them to hot. Soon you will want a x- maxx and will be running 8s 😊 i miss the old savage flux that truck on 6s was mental. Standing back flips. As your engine breaks in it will gain power. I was going to mention the throttle to check it. You have to adust servo throw and end points or the rods. Ypur doing great at tuning sounds good man. You know all that from bikes bro.
Get a fail safe especially on nitro. Someday you will love brushless the power is brutal. I like the pull start better it deletes weight. Get rid of the double aa batteries and get a battery pack thats rechargeable for the car. Remember radio always on first. You will learn on setting the throttle to make sure its at idle but not on brakes i could teach you a ton for rc.
Hey bud grab a cheap infrared thermometer and check those engine temps, ill bet it was running hot cause it sounded a bit lean. I have a slayer pro 3.3 with a bunch of upgrades, lots of fun. Welcome to the hobby
