    Bob, this looks like a fun build. The Dual Steering is both clever and proper.
    You mentioned in here about knowing from making a lot of mistakes... All of us who have been in the Hobby for Decades feels that sting!! 😖

    Many thanks for this great video build series, it’s been a few years since I have built a Tamiya truck, don’t think I can resist building this one though when it becomes available here in the UK.

      It would be simple to use extended frame rails and make this truck with a King/Grand Hauler cab. Just don't install the 2nd front axle.

    Nice building video as usual. My gearbox on the european scania R470 uses the same short springs with the washer and Clip between both spring. It looks they took some of the good point of european truicks an american trucks to build this New Volvo

    In 2020 why is Tamiya not including ball bearings in their kits? Especially an $1100USD kit. Other than that, great build so far!

  • @MrBlirre

    I see thet tamyia still use the front steering like all other cabover euro style trucks. Mine are all modified to get the correct akerman angel. The stock configuration with the steering rod in front of the axel will reverse the akerman angel and the outer wheel turns charper then the inner one. It will affect turningradius and the tyres will drag on sharp turns. The mod is simpel, turn the nuckels around like on the second axel, bend the steeringrod to clear the gearbox and make a new hole for the short servorod on the nuckel, this short rod may need to be shorten to fit.

    Will be interesting to see if you get any digital servos to work with the MFCs from Tamiya. I could never get any digital servos to work consistently with the Tamiya MFCs. Seems like they only like regular analog servos.

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hobbyconcepts-LLC good to know. I better try a few more brands. The last one I tried that I was pulling my hair out was a digital LiFe PowerHD. Can’t remember if it was a 20KG or 35KG.

    The drive shaft is longer because the gearbox is mounted more forward on this than on king hauler?

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I really like the Beier unit (a lot) but want to do this truck pretty stock and with Tamiya equipment. The Beier is great but the learning curve for beginners is pretty tough. Tamiya MFC's are easy to install and work everytime.
