@@remymetaillerawesome video Remy!! quick question.. MOst of my trails are nowhere near this level so the PROPAIN HUGENE makes more sense.. Question is.. For the 3x a year i'm on trails like this.. Could these be done on the HUGENE with a 140mm fork with confidence still ?????
Jack has serious 🎱 🎱. The trail is one thing. The conditions is another. But being shown tackling all that in front of over half a million subscribers, well that’s impressive 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Knowing when it’s safe to let the brakes go was my biggest improvement in my riding. Love your videos Remy! Hope you do more of these instructional ones.
Remy has some of the best MTB content... Going through all these sections and tips show his incredible skills and really like his focus on safety and control.
The point about front wheel first on the drop is spot on! I found this by trying different things on a 1.5m rock drop to a flatish landing. Popping off it made a hard full compression hit 👍
Normally I don't like to hear the sound of squeaking brakes. In this video I actually like hearing/seeing the difference in braking between Remy and his neighbor. I imagine mine would be similar to his neighbor. Maybe more haha!
@@MrDmadnessMaybe true, but way too bity for me. Have Shimanos on my hardtail, but would never ever run them on my serious bikes. Tried them many times before and just have very little control since it's like an on off switch. 0 modulation whatsoever. Imagine cars and trucks were the same? Everyone would be crashing since it's like slamming the brakes 🤣
My neighbor’s idea of a good time is fishing. Nothing wrong with fishing but I’d prefer living next to Remy. Fresh bike, wall of very fresh tyres and on site tips, wow! Just a bit jealous.
Very cool video. Your neighbor shreds properly. Yeah, you can see his body is much more tense than yours on stepper and rougher stuff and his eyes somewhat look scared, but he has much more than basics of what to do and with time he will feel safe in what he is doing. Riding stuff you rode in wet is way above intermediate for sure :) Kudos to him. A bit disappointed with the click-bite'y title, but im glad he didnt hurt himself! I was watching last minutes of video with the follow cam with one eye closed hoping he is not gonna crash bad.
Impressive in those conditions! Really great to see more my level rider(above really considering the trail 😂) tackling stuff. Recognised some of the same body moves etc in my own riding, just need a Remy to follow me now to improve 😜
Way to go, Jack! Looking pro out there! I’m going to have to share this with the shop boys tomorrow. Rémy, always fun to watch you tear it up. Cheers boys!
Yeah Remy wow Fairplay to Jack shredding A trail that you don’t know what’s coming takes confidence and skill respect brother Plus scrubbing wet wood and turning and breaking on wet roots no thank you
Great vid - this along with a video you did with Jack a year or two ago are fantastic instructional vids! Controlling braking, dropping heels, elbow positioning, allowing the bike to move underneath you - all excellent teaching points. Nice sponsorship for your neighbour! Hope the coffee is PF great! 🤣
He rides pretty good, but I see he have a problem with the position on bike, will be a good future video with him improving his position on the bike. I saw he stayed in attack position or squad when did not needed. Good ride Jack! Remy thank you for this types of videos, helped me a lot on trails. Love you!
Thats jack, he worked at my school, what a guy, he won senior soccer provencials champion ships with our school team, hoping to make the team next year.
Как же ты Братан просто 'плывешь' по этим скользским камням и корням, это достойно уважения! Сколько катаюсь но в основном просто скатываюсь в низ по таким, а уж поворачивать резко как ты речи не идёт.. ты явно доверяешь своему байку
Dear Mr. Metaillier, excellent video and good explanation. The neighbour seems to be very skilled as well. As you asked where I would be interressted in, I would say Body Positioning on the Bike. When you ride steep sections, do you rather hinge and move the body back to stay tall ob the bike, or do you hinge and squad down or do you do something completely different. Would be cool to have your thoughts on this. Best, Markus from DE
Yooo Remy grace us with a how to scrub a drop video! You’re a master at it, it looks sick, and it actually is an important skill that is very hard to find any tips on🤞
Remy Amazing as Always!!!!!! If you want an italian student here I am! It would be a dream riding with you!!!! Second dream Is dominion brakes, unfotunatelly now Is not the Moment... Maybe One day....
When did the scrub make its way into mountain biking? There were some guys doing it in motocross back in the late 80's, I believe (I think Talon Volland was one video'd doing it back then), but it was James Stewart around 2003 that made it an essential part of racing. Curious whether mountain bikers picked up on his stuff, or if it made its way into mountain biking somehow else?
Well, it’s pouring rain all day. Pretty much any brake is gonna squeal when it’s super when, until the braking action dries it off, but on those slippery trails, they never brake long enough for that to happen, they have to let off the brakes to ride across some slick root or rock, and then your back to a wet brake again.
@@tjb8841 correct- it was raining hard all day long and we were doing the trail in small sections- the hayes brakes are generally much quieter than the sram ones I replaced.
I use 4 piston SLX with cheap Chinese ceramic pads from Ali… and center line rotors and they are 🤫 rotors and pads must be free from any oils if they don’t they can be noisy in wet conditions 🤔

I thought it interesting because I could hear 1 brake or 2. This helped me to hear brake control.
One of many reasons I ride Shimano, much quieter.

At first I have not used a click bait title but the views were not ramping up. Sad reality on TH-cam.
Yes, I heard the same on other informative you tube channels. You need the click bait titles.
Sadly you have to use them. It really sucks and makes me hate TH-cam.
