This is the best, most true IV video I've seen. I would add that for raids, a low defense IV is fine because the lower your defense the more damage you'll be taking BUT since damage taken contributes to energy gain in raids and gym battles the faster you'll be able to get to charge moves so the higher your DPS will be, and raids are all about DPS. Also for raids, save stardust and only power up pokemon that have a decent attack (12 or more) AND are already high level, like weather boosts, especially if you're just starting. For over a year I never powered up anything except legendaries, I just used weather boosts I caught in the wild at high level. I still use them.

Why do others say, 0, 15, 15 or what's found online like (0,11,13) for the rank #1 pvp ivs? This the entire opposite of whatothers are saying to keep vs transfer/trade
@@BigDOOMson That only applies to pokemon you want to use in the Great or Ultra League. This is because if the pokemon has a high attack it will have a much higher CP because the attack stat has the biggest impact in the CP formula. So basically you can level up a pokemon to say level 30 and have a CP of 2499 whereas that same pokemon with a high attack and same CP will only be level 25--28ish and do less damage than the level 30 with less attack.
@@BigDOOMson Also, the reason they are different for each pokemon is to try to get you right to 1500 CP (or 2500 CP for UL). A 0/15/15 might have a 1450 CP and the next level up is 1501. that 50 CP makes a difference in PvP. You want to max CP along with def/HP.

Regarding 15/14/15 vs 15/15/14 IVs, it would be worth qualifying “effective hundo” 98% Pokémon (such as Mewtwo, Groudon, Kyogre, Dialga, Zekrom, and more) that have the same stats with 15/15/14 at lvl 40 as a hundo because of how HP gets rounded to the nearest integer. Great video as always, Daxi.

I usually just keep 3 star Pokemon. I'm not the greatest at PvP and the Pokemon I use never have the right ivs but I managed to get to Ace, last season for the first time.

Wow, nice job. I was at 1982 rating when great league flipped into ultra league. Went 2-3 in the next run and landslid back to 1700s after that. Just scraped 1900+ again now after recalibration. Im only lvl 37, so xl is not an option, and I just have terrible ivs of the top meta Pokemon. Maybe won’t make it this season, but I like having that stretch goal of one day making Ace

Hi Dax, when checking stadium gaming for iv rankings, and I found that they rank 14/15/14 in front of 15/12/15(primal kyogre). You said that having 15 attack is most important, so is the 15/12/15 better or the higher ranked 14/15/14? Thanks!
Hello, so RE:this video: is it ok to use Pokemon, e.g. Garchomp (Mud Shot + Earth Power) with high level and IV spread of 15/10/15 as Ground Raid attacker instead of looking for a Hundo?
Ive been thinking about this question for so long and I need an answer to it. (Im very late)

I have caught a bagon but cant decide to evolve it or not due to its low iv. it is also the rarest thing I've found yet. its attack fills up 1 third of the bar and defense fills up 2 thrids and hp fills 1. if I did evolve it then it would probably be my best pokemon. What should I do?

Great vid, I would add that the level of the Pokémon is more important, even a low iv Pokemon can be evolved into something really strong if it’s already at level 30 when you catch it, saving you hundreds of candy and tens of thousands of stardust!
You're absolutely right! There are a lot of strong pokémon that can be caught in the wild at level 35 (like machop, eevee, rhyhorn, magnemite, ...). Those can save lots of stardust for beginners.
That's false in my opinion , CP are totaly irrelevant , IV matters. To Fix a low CP, You can power up a monster , only take stardust, so just time. But you will never be able to change IV of your Pokemon ! And You can test , to power up a lvl 1 to lvl 40 , it take 269.300 stardust , and now take a lvl25 pokemon (raid wheather boosted for eemple) and make it 40 , it cost 194.000 . So pretty much the same amount , but in one case you gained 25 more levels ! The only case when you choose a lower IV pokemon to Lvl 50 is if you have a lucky pokemon in my opinion
But searching for high cp not considering the iv can save lots of stardust and candies for beginners.

I've been under the impression that 15-15-14 was the better out of the 98% pokemon. It was called a "functional hundo" because HP (for most pokemon) wouldn't actually increase between a maxed 14-HP IV and a maxed 15-HP IV because of how the game rounds up or down. Or am I completely wrong?
You are correct but same can be for defense. In the end it's case by case which I tried to talk about.
You justify HP as more important than defense because of defense breakpoints, but doesn't HP also have breakpoints as in the number of raid boss attacks you'll be able to take before your pokemon is taken out?
With the high iv Pokemon you wanna evolve how much do you hit the power up button before evolving?
It doesn't matter if you power it up before or after evolving.

Lucario is pretty much only good for defeating team rocket boss until it’s getting the mega atleast
I usually only keep hold of 3*s unless the Pokémon’s uncommon/rare and till I get a replacement.
But , I loveeee great league and Tbf I never use meta considered Pokémon…🤷🏽♂️ and yeah the IVs can come in handy when in higher ranked matches , but I don’t think it matters all that much in lower leagues & cups , as long as the hp & defence are okay you can always change the moves and power it up 🤷🏽♂️ plus like I said , you can always keep it to hold you over & replace later 🤷🏽♂️
I found it more fun using a lot of my 2016 Pokémon, most aren’t full forms yet so there not worth using…😂 but I’ve got a couple that actually do really well most games. I’m a little sentimental with my Beedrill , poliwhirl & rapidash combo 😂 there not really metas.. but there move sets hold up & allow for farming down quickly for power moves and if any are countered by my opponent, I have a counter back and can usually hold of on shields till later in the game , causing the win 🏆. I just have fun with my own picks and building them up for the Great league & cups in that division.

What are minimum IVs for shadow pokemon to be worth investing into (for PvE) ? I have 14/3/2 Machop and I'm not sure if I should keep it or transfer it
Didn't talk about shadows but again the rule goes that attack is most important. I usually do anything with 10+ attack and other stats are not too important. But take your time with shadows as they are a bigger investment so looking for a 15 attack 3 star can be worth it if your not in a rush!
I don't invest any candy on a Pokemon until I have saved enough candies end stardust to evolve and power up to level 35, just in case I find a better one. Nothing worse than investing 100+ candies on one having it just level 28 and then finding a hundo

So do you use pokegenie anymore? Or it's like a first pass through the bag, then use stadium gaming? Pokegenie doesn't distinguish between raid caught, wild caught, hatched, GBL. I'd like to only go through once and stadium gaming is much more tedious.
I generally use pokegenie but thought it would be too much stuff to add for a video this complex. Mighy make follow up. I just want people to understand how they work more or less

Would say trash all less than 10 , keeps 10 if the others is 15 or14 , and for attac i would say 3 is the highest ! But that's only my opinion , so i can be false
Minor niche thing to point out: Looking at the Magnezone IV chart that you pulled up, the 4th Magnezone is better than the first 3 in a head to head match up because of the 1 attack IV winning the charged move tie. Almost never going to change the outcome of a match, but worth pointing out for super competitive players. Taking the slightly less efficient IV spread has niche viability. The highest stats aren't always the best stats for a given situation.
It is a similar concept to VGC players using a level 49 instead of level 50 on trick room teams to out speed if the opponent has the same pokemon at level 50.
For the high iv Pokémon why not use HIV to label them?
You might want two Pokémon of different rank if your using them in PVP with different caps.
My first Hundo was a riolu from an egg i was so excited about it but I can’t power it up because of how rare lucario is
