      I always love seeing your comments. I'm excited to see the analytics for how many people actually watch the section marked "Cultural Relevance" at 2:34 lol

    You're goated for testing stuff out, there's so little information out about enemies and what they resist/are weak to. Like I didn't even know warlocks resisted frost damage until I watched your video on the charred.
    Edit: How do you gauge how much stagger threshold an enemy has? I don't think I've heard of the term stagger limit in this game, I always just assumed that they needed to take a certain amount of damage in order to stagger. Do weapons deal a hidden stagger damage amount that doesn't technically count as damage? That would explain why the Atgeir almost always staggers despite not doing a whole lot of damage, I always just thought it was a unique trait that the Atgeir could do it, not a hidden mechanic.

      I find the stagger limit the same way I find all the info which is by decompiling the source code. This page hasn't been updated in a while but explains the stagger mechanics decently: valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Stagger. I've actually already started on a video explaining and showing how I get my creature stats so people can do it them selves if they wish. Also, you bring up a good point that not everything in Valheim is very self-explanatory so I'm thinking it might be good to make a video doing an in-depth combat mechanics breakdown.

      @@back-to-basics-gaming Oh definitely, the player's stagger meter is not explained at all in game. Also, thanks for that link.

    Great videos, watched quite a few of them. Are you going to make a breakdown of Ashlands weapons and armor?

      I'm out of town for the next week, but I might be able to when I get back. Would it be something you'd want to see?

    do you know what is the best bow in the ashlands? i cant decide between the lightning and the nature

    • @back-to-basics-gaming
      @back-to-basics-gaming  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's a bit of a loaded question, which I intend to answer in an up coming video. To summarize, the lightning bow does significantly more damage however the nature bow can freeze enemies. Generally, the lighting bow will be better when fighting against groups and the nature will be preferable 1 on 1. If you're in a group, I'd recommend no more than 2 or 3 people bring a nature bow as 2 or 3 people is more than enough to freeze an enemy. In a group, I'd still recommend at least one person brings a nature bow while the others can focus on DPS. When solo, I tend to prefer the lightning bow with the notable exceptions of fighting Lord Reto or taming an Asksvin.

    One question tho, if the enemy is within the melee range of an asksvin ridden by player, like right on its face, will the asksvin attack it (automatically)?

    • @back-to-basics-gaming
      @back-to-basics-gaming  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn't really seem to attack while you ride it. It might be possible, I'm not sure, but the only way I've gotten the Asksvins to reliably attack is by getting off them. If someone else has a different experience, please let us know though!

      Hope the dev can allow the player/the mount to attack in someway. The make raiding more engaging and the mount controllable.

      Also hope dev will change lox becoming frightened after chasing down a deer or smth....and then ramping (& annihilating) in my base...sad that they can only end up in a deep pit...

      @@back-to-basics-gaming oh, i just learn that, if you stop controlling the asksvin while riding it, it WILL attack our hostile creature like it usually do(even you are on the back).
