After watching hours, LITERALLY HOURS, of askvin guides I kept coming back to this video. This is by far the objectively best guide on askvin on the internet
I’ve used this build to build an Asksvin breeder, using 1* Asksvin but the eggs keep getting laid underneath the asksvin, and trapped in the gap. I am Using the CLLC add on which I think increases the hit box of mobs.
This video was very easy to follow, but i made 1 slight change. Instead of dropping the askvin into the holding cell, i seperated the cell into 2 and boarded up the opening in the floor and hatched 2 eggs i already had. However, once grown, it seems the askvin are slightly titlted. They seem to eat, and do lay eggs even though i only get yellow heart's. Not sure if this is just a fortunate bug on my part or if i should try to move them so they are perfexrly horizontal. Anyone else have the non pink heart issue? I did remove the seperation board after they grew.
Do the eggs have a cap in an area or will they keep on keeping on as long as those eggs dont hatch? You can maybe just hatch 2 asksvin eggs on those 1m ledges so you dont have to make asksvin saddle if you tamed them in ashlands EDIT : ive seen the earlier comments, they have a cap of 8, so i just need to build it atleast 13m high ty for the build!
My asksvin aren't eating, are there any common issues? I've built using grausten instead of wood, and built it 12m high to breed an army, but with the same measurements, could that possibly affect it? Yours seemed to stay facing you, but mine have been climbing all over each other which I thought might point to me missing a vital part of the building process.
I think I had a similar issue when I was building a Lox breeder. I found out that the Lox have ridiculously tall hitboxes, as tall as a Troll, which meant that the ceiling above the breeding pair was too low for them to properly move around and eat. Might be a similar issue here...? When the Lox were wedged in between the floor and ceiling, unable to move and eat, I could see that their position was on a very slight angle in relation to the floor - so that would be a sign to look for. Hope this helps! Have fun =)
@zerger So, I made this breeder, without the fish in it. I do have 1 major concern about. I use 2 starred asksvins, and they both act like they both snorted 2 tons of cocaine.....sideswinging headbanging and "swallowing" (like T-rex in jurassic park). Are they too big for this kind of entrapment? I know that some sort of fiddling with the iron walls has to be done, but I am uncertain of how much spacing I have to add to the "front", and if I have to add some to the side. Currently, they both eat, if I drop 1 stack of food in the middle of them.
ok I extended the front of ask pen by 1m, and separate the 2 asks, now they eat. Also reduced the floor they stand by 1m so eggs dont get stuck. they only have 1m floor at front to stand on and a 1m floor at the back for safety so they dont fall. so far no eggs got stuck
@@Zerger Ah, I just built one of these last night and was noticing the babies getting poisoned sometimes which was a concern, but if they drop meat then yeah, I dont really care. I'm a bit torn about high-so-eggs-dont-stop-coming vs autokilling though but thats personal taste I suppose.
They stop laying at 8 eggs (Dunno if it will be changed before official release) So if you wanted to collect loads of eggs only or breed an army that would be the way to do it 😜

Who was the architect a certain German failed artist 😂

Great thanks, so much easier than working with pens or pits and having to move eggs about.
great guide! Question though - in order for the love makin' to take place and eggs to be produced - I have to be near the lovely couple, right?
Thanks 😁 Well you don't have to be watching the lovely couple level of closeness, but the area will have to be loaded yes
Love your guides! Made the lox one, 2 star lox take forever to kill underneath the puffer fish! Lol
Same, use more.. it's damage overtime so it stacks
What do you mean loxes can't have stars ?
Would love to see your take on a greydwarf farm
It's in the making 🙂 I just have a problem with there being too many items

Haha.. Brilliant. Automatic incubator/slaughtering machine:)
can you hatch them in the top instead of riding them up?
That's such a beautiful build bro
nice! good build! works
Test this with a 2 Star Asksvin and it takes a LONG TIME for them to die to pufferfish. Can you tweak for 2 Stars?
Depending on what you're after you could add some fire sources I guess (careful with the smoke) as baby asksvin still drop meat

Most underrated channel ever

How did you do it? I cant even fit two 2 star ask in there

Can i make all your valheim farms near each other and dont have mob capping problems?
Yup, I would make a farming district for sure
Can baby askvin get on top of other babys and get killed by the pufferfish?
Yes they can, but baby asksvin still drop the meat though

If the killing mechanism wasn't there will they keep laying eggs or would they stop at egg capacity? great farm btw, so soon too.

@@Zerger What if I make the egg drop part so much taller? so the eggs leave the range of two breeding asksvins.
Lovely Stuff!
is there an egg limit?
Someone in a video on TH-cam (can't find it anymore, sorry) said they lay eggs indefinitely - as long as they don't hatch.
