    Does this mean any lens requiring an adapter on the LS300 must be manually focused?

    • @BijouCinema
      @BijouCinema 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ThioJoe Yes, and well since it is the top of the line camera, its targeted towards professionals, probably for film. So it would be obvious you won't be auto-focusing

    • @BandH
      @BandH  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Correct - when using an adapter focus will need be manually adjusted.

    I'm not wise with streaming yet, but a martial arts tutor asked me if I could live stream to the web from the scene. I can't be reliant on getting a wifi signal, but my Android does let me 'hotspot' share my 4G network data with other devices.
    What kind of equipment would I need to integrate one of these with my phone to stream the camera through my phone and on to the net?

It features an MFT mount that allows you to use a wide variety of full-frame, PL, C, and EF mount lenses with optional adapters. Nikon F, T mount, Leica R and M, and others can be used with the appropriate adapters.

    When I shoot inside with 1080p it is extremely dark and the picture quality is extremely soft. Any idea how to fix this?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the image is dark you may want to invest in some lighting. Proper lighting can only help you with both HD and 4K footage. We have great options from companies like Dracast for LED Lights.

    I'm being nit-picky but you might want to have full batteries when you showcase cameras. JVC would probably agree.

    The LS300 is a Sony FS-100 and FS700 killer, and probably a Sony FS7 also.

    • @nightdonutstudio
      @nightdonutstudio 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      From information so far, this camera does not emphasis on
      image quality, such as dynamic range, high iso performance, no super slow like fs700/fs7.

    • @kennethwilliamsinc
      @kennethwilliamsinc 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was thinking the same thing in regards to the FS100 and FS700. I guess the only thing that barely keeps the FS700 alive is the slo mo and the Odyssey 7q. The FS7 is not harmed by this.

    Sorry, if I'm not in the right place. I write out of desperation, I really need help. This is a translation from French to English on google because I speak French and not English. You control the JVC well. I would just like to increase the built-in audio volume of my new JVC GY-HM170 camera. the sound is very very low. If a high-pitched sound is emitted at 1cm from the camera in an isolated room without noise, the recorded sound is still weak. I downloaded the user manual (notice) in French because I am French-speaking, but I still have not found a solution. I don't use a handle or an external microphone, nothing, only the Camera. I film automatically. there is an external volume button on the camera near SHUTTER, but when I increase it does not influence the sound. please help me or direct me to the right address or someone could help me. thank you so much

    • @BandH
      @BandH  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have your camera checked by a competent JVC technician and check the camera with an external XLR microphone to confirm if the issue is only with the built-in microphone. >Mark

    Does the model JVC GY-LS300 support 1080p with 422 RGB or 422 YUV, and 4k with 422 RGB or 422 YUV?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As the output of these cameras is compressed, they offer a 4:2:2 YUV colorspace.

    • @honey4xi
      @honey4xi 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At 1:10 of your clip shows only 1080p with 422 YUV. Why 4k with no colorspace numbers in Record Format?
      I did try your e-mail for questions with my Gmail account, but it did not send my email to you. Instead it returned back to my account every time.

    Is the XLR handle on the HM200 sold separately so I can mount it on the HM170?

      The HM200 handle is not available as a retail accessory at this point. You may be able to obtain one directly from JVC Professional however:

    I am looking to get my first professional camera to do run and gun shooting at events. Does the HM170 perform dept of filed well at all? I was looking at the Sony AX100 because of it's large sensor, but it lacks a lot of the pro features I am looking for in a camera like the XLR add ons and the physical buttons on the camera itself.

      +B and H Thank you Mark. I decided against the JVC and against 4k for the time being. I went with the Sony NX100 instead, as it has more of the pro features with the 1inch sensor.

    At that price and those specs, Sony needs to make their 4K update free or under $200. it's not fair. These make me want to trade my X70 for the HM200

    Hi B&H, I owe a sony EX1r , I love the low light of sony camera since it is 1/2 inch,
    Is the JVC good in low light since it is nearly 1/2 inch an the lens is f.1.2? Can I compare to it?
    thks

    • @BandH
      @BandH  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      iconlover1 Tough to fault your present camera for its low-light capability. Only the JVC GY-LS300 may offer a slight improvement. B&H # JVGYLS300.

    Besides HD-SDI and streaming, does it mean that HD200 = HD170 + XLR handle? Too bad that 4K is only 30p max.

      also HM170 has different battery and does not feature web remoting cause no USB plug

    I'm trying to decide between the HM170 or the Sony AX100. Can you tell me how they compare to each other? With Sony's larger sensor, does that do better in low light?

    • @BandH
      @BandH  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheAwesomeSam I'll give SONY the edge in terms of low-light/available light shooting. SONY is also offering the most flexible recording options: XAVC S, AVCHD, and MP4. Sony's battery life and power management are better as well. Built-in Wi-Fi/NFC support enables easy connectivity with smartphones for one-touch sharing and one-touch remote control. And SONY offers the very best OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) in the business, in my opinion.
