Thank you for taking an Ohioian to the ocean in Feb.!!!!!! So serene & seeing God's work through crafted artisans of those beautiful homes is a "WOW" plus!!! Blessings, Pam
What a peaceful boardwalk to the ocean , with the white foam tide lapping the shore!!! A little mini vacation for the soul. Newburyport looks like a true step back in time. How lovely to live amidst this kind of history and beauty. The homes are the epitome of charm and grace. Thank you for another lovely Sunday.
I think this must absolutely be the best time to wander around Newburyport and Marblehead. In the summer I find the crowds stifling - but now, in the cold sunshine, you can wrap up warm and enjoy wandering the streets at leisure and at your own pace - then stopping for lunch or a coffee as a delicious treat! Thank you so much for sharing such a lovely trip - I enjoyed it very much.
There is something familiar about the ocean Carla, this beach could have been in the UK, you never quite loose the love for it!… The houses however are completely different, I just love the style of these historical homes & the colours of the houses…That’s why I think the towns in NE are so lovely, it’s like going back in time, the pretty white churches , picket fences, very colourful…Cornwall industries have but almost disappeared, fishing & mining were the main source of living many years ago. Now, apart from the fishing villages which are very quaint, the towns are suffering due to massive stores being built outside & have lost the beauty of how they use to look, also the home are mainly granite builds which is quite a harsh stone, so it’s great being able to view these lovely towns through your videos… Thank you. ☺️
Resembles Newport, RI. That you videotaped, and my husband and I traveled to and spent 5 marvelous days ,last Oct. 2024. Thank you for your relaxing, informative videos.🥰
WOW! Quite a trek, worth every step. Something about nature that is so beautiful and comforting. And the homes, simply beautiful! In my next life, I am going to live in New England. Thank you so much for taking a day off and sharing it with us.
What a delightful way to spend my late Sunday morning, taking a fun day trip with you! I don't know what I liked more, the homes or the ocean views! Thanks so much for sharing!
What a nice video, Carla. Its nice to be reminded that Newburyport isn't just for shopping and having lunch, but is for getting out and enjoying the beautiful great outdoors. Don't you just love the ocean during the off season, when there's nobody else on the beach but you? The ocean was an especially beautiful shade of blue on the day you went. And I cannot believe the beautiful video of the swans that you captured...nice job... Thank you for another wonderful and peaceful video.💕💕
Almost makes me want to take a dip in the ocean albeit its freezing temps. Thoroughly enjoyed this road trip to the sea, and the beautiful stately historic homes. Many thanks!
Hi Carla what a lovely walk to the sea. Love the beautiful swans and ducks. Just watching the waves is so calming. Newburyport is such a beautiful place. I love the stunning homes. Thank you for the beautiful tour❤
Beautiful video Carla! I am swooning over that long boardwalk leading to the ocean! In RI ours are only a few steps away and we don’t really have large dunes or cliffs. Except for Block Island! Also, I love how you pronounce Newburyport!
Just expressing as others have said, so wonderful to join you to see the ocean and beautifully preserved historic homes. I am in snow now and needed this break. Thanks, Carla, for sharing. Take care.
HI Carla, what beautiful views and I loved Newburyport ,I will need to add to my bucket list !! Be safe going by youself on those trails !! We are wanting to go to Leland MI, in May reminds me of east ! Take Care Paula in Indiana
I would definitely add Newburyport to your list and then Portsmouth, NH also which is only about 20 min. North. I haven't been to the Leelanau Peninsula in years.....definitely one of my favorite areas of MI along with Petoskey. Enjoy!
Oh Carla, you love one of my favorite spots too !!! We vacationed for years on Plum Island, which such wonderful memories! Daily we would go into Newburyport to shop, eat , or have a cocktail. Since I'm only about 45 minutes away where I live, I get to go to PI and NBPT often. Lovely video.
Hi Carla, Thank you for taking us on your little road trip with you. The ocean is beautiful and I just love seeing all of the antique houses. It's like stepping back in time. Have a great week ❤ Sharon
Thank you, Carla. I found you through Linda’s videos, and I am so thrilled that I did. I now live in Florida, but my heart will always be in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. And really, all of New England. No matter where you go there are historical interests and such beauty to enjoy. Angel hugs from Florida.❤😊
Welcome!! I couldn't agree more....All of New England is very special. It took us 10 years of yearning to move here, and we finally did and could not be happier! Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks for the memory, when my daughter was young we spent many a day at the shops in Newburyport. I would always buy her something for her doll house that my husband and father put together for her, that was set up in our living room on a coffee table in the corner. She also had a general store and an ice cream shop. It was fun finding little miniature items for all three. Very expensive hobby but she spent many hours playing and decorating her house and shops. Ha. She now has three houses that she styles and decorates, and actually did that full time for other people before she had our sweet granddaughter at the age of 43. Surprise Surprise!! For everyone. Ha..but a wonderful surprise. She is an excellent mom and little CoCo is a joy, and blessing.💓 She will get the doll house and ice cream shop and store when she gets old enough, she is only two, and two months old right now, and into everything ha..Remember that age? Ha.. You know, I bet you would love having a doll house and have fun putting your little touches in it. You can get a house made that looks just like your house and I bet your husband could build it. There was a doll house shop in Manchester nh we visited often years ago, I don’t know if it is still there but there was many adults that bought miniature furniture for their own houses. You also have the patience to make furniture for doll houses, and you could sell the items in your online store. I know you would absolutely love😅 it. What do you think?
Oh my goodness, the doll house sounds absolutely wonderful. I always wanted one of the Victorian Dollhouses when I was young.....I had to settle for a Barbie house. lol. My favorite part of playing Barbies was always setting up the house over dressing the doll. Isn't that something how your Daughter's love of home decor showed up as a child. You are blessed with granddaughter now.....how wonderful. Thank you for watching and have a beautiful week Margaret!
Thank you Carla. This was so beautiful and relaxing. Good for the soul. I was having a stressful day and seeing this video was just what I needed. Now I want to go visit there in person . Hope you have a wonderful day.
Thank you Carla for another enjoyable video and magnificent view of Plum Island certainly a beautiful place to visit and for meditation. I have heard from others that Newburyport is a lovely quaint town along with some other towns in the same area certainly as you have shown with the beautiful charming homes. Glad the weather cooperated and you were able to take us along so kind of you. The world is certainly magical many blessings ☮ and enjoy the coming week. 🦢🦢🐚🦐🐚
Thank you for this gorgeous view of the ocean. I bet the air smelled wonderful. One question. Did I see Loons floating on the water? They are our state bird here in Minnesota.
Hi Carla🤗. What pretty views you have taken, the ocean is so beautiful, we have vacationed there for many years when we resided in Ontario. Now that we live in BC 🇨🇦 we are very close to the Pacific Ocean so take a lot of daily trips and walk on our boardwalks,so nice and handy. We don’t have a lot of beautiful little towns and shops like the east coast has but still beautiful and I do miss the look of the NewEngland states, some of our favourites to visit. Great video TFS 🥰
My dear Carla, another beautiful video featuring an area that I haven’t seen in forty years! You do take wonderful videos, pulling in and out of specific scenic shots with care, easy on the eyes!❤ Thank you again from an armchair follower!!!🙂
Hello Carla, I had to watch your video today from the weekend, we had a lot going on. When Theodore was born, I mentioned to you that we were waiting on the arrival of a new grandchild. We have a new grandson, his name is Clark Joshua. My son & his wife are fans of visiting national parks. (So name comes from Joshua Tree in California & Clark from Lewis & Clark in Oregon). He is so sweet & will have many adventures with his brother! Thank you for the tour, very relaxing, planning on visiting Newburyport in the future, the homes, the ocean, that's my kind of a trip, just gorgeous! 🌊 💙🐳 Debbie O'Brien, Cromwell, CT
Hi Carla enjoyed going to the ocean with you and seeing all the little shops. It looks so warm there. Here in Ohio, we have several inches of snow and cold weather. I know Spring has to be around the corner. Enjoy your week.❤
My 90 year old mother still lives on Plum Island, my father's company helped with the renewal of downtown Newburyport in the earlier 70's,. Everyone always enjoys High Road in Newbury and High St in Newburyport . The area has improved it's character in the past 50 years. Hopefully you learned about it's true seaport past and how Newbury is much older then Newburyport
Funny you say that, I got to chatting with a woman while walking the neighborhood (born & raised there, her Mother also) and she was telling me that story. Very interesting.
A preacher by the name of George Whitefield is buried in the basement of a Presbyterian church in Newbury. I don't know if that was the church. The church does allow you to view his crypt.
