OMG, you are precious. I am the one who bought the vintage sweater and I wanted to come say that the sweater can be repaired (I have a friend that can do it, not me! lol). I am a GenX'er and I swear I remember someone from school having this same sweater, nostalgia for the win. ;)
Also, I love that you put the items on YT before the show, I should probably join WN because I would have bought things there, too. The reason I watched the videos is because I love watching and learning from you and since this was a new venture for you it was good to learn along with you. Great job on all of those sales!
awww I appreciate you so much!!! And yay - nostalgia for the win!
I need to get back on Whatnot. Although I'm a vlogger, I'm too shy to do live shows. I got on there once last year for like 10 mins. Sold one top and never went back 😂😂
Congrats on your huge profit!
It is nerve wracking for me too for some reason, even though I've done a good number of shows now. I totally get it! It's different from just showing you living your life - you're trying to SELL stuff, and that can feel off putting to some people.
I am the same way… I wish I had the courage but I’m shy and I can’t imagine myself talking in front of the camera to sell my items so for now selling on eBay, Posh and Mercari works for me 😅
@@HKim28-jz1qn haha I don't blame you!
I am so happy for you girl!!!! You put in so much effort and thoughtfulness into all you do as a reseller, and I am HERE FOR IT!!! I raising my coffee cup to you this morning! Wishing you the best possible sales and thanks so much for always showing up for us, we love you girl!!!
Becky, what a lot of work you did & I'm SO happy it paid off! Thanks for sharing your experiences as it is so helpful & motivating. Rest up & thanks again...Paulal
As always, love your what sold video's Becky! Thanks for sharing.
Incredible fruits of incredible labor. Congrats on the success, Becky!
i do the raising the price thing as i manually relist older items
Great job!! I work as a cook in the Catholic school system. I do enjoy it & get a ton of time off. I'm just torn between not going back & just sticking to selling full-time. I used to sell full-time. I know your at the school as well. Question..... If you disliked your job would you leave & resell full-time?
I've been a huge fans of yours. I do want to say however as someone who has researched Whatnot they still have approximately 75% of their live sellers averaging $1-$7 per sale with only 1-10 viewers (or bidders) per show. More than happy to send you the info. I think an almost $3k net is great but if you do the math you are averaging $4.27 net profit per item which I'm assuming is before supplies and taxes? Even if not, that is a lot of work for less than $5.
Your amazing Becky 🎉
Congratulations! Just curious, do you think you'd ever do that What-Not-TH-cam palooza again or was it too much work?
Hi Becky nice sales.
Hey Becky , really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with more Quality Editing in your videos and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail and also help you with the overall youtube strategy and growth ! Pls let me know what do you think ?
I'm waiting for the insane sales weeks..... ugh
Do you list the same item on multiple platforms at the same time?
Damn so many jealous people. "You only deducted COG" lol.
You didn't add what they pay you to promote whatnot.
❤❤❤
So when you're giving your net sales, you're not including platform fees, you're just deducting your COG. When you post numbers in your thumbnail, is this a true net profit? I ask because it is so discouraging to me as a reseller. I don't know how you have enough time to source so many items. I source two-three times a week and I am lucky to find 50 items to sell. How do you source such a large quantity? How many items do you list each day/week? And lastly are you saying doing haul YT videos help sell items? I am not on YT but have been thinking about doing it. I just get so frustrated .... social media can be misleading and it makes me feel like I am failing when I see everyone else making so much money. I am happy for everyone, but I still can't help but feel like I am doing something wrong. 😕
@@bajacowgirl3170 sorry-I should have mentioned-my net IS after fees as well. It’s after EVERYTHING.
I try to list at least 5 items a day, and while I do like to go to goodwills and thrift stores, I try to hit up consignment stores or buy sell trades stores when they’re running huge clearances so I can get a lot at once. I’ve also purchased reseller buyouts.
Not a suggestion - just a thought. If you feel like you’re failing, maybe try doing something different instead of blaming other people’s success for how you feel. 🤷♀️
when did you start selling? How many items a week do you list? How active is your store, do you run sales do you do promotions do you end listings on a regular basis and relist them? it takes time to do well on eBay for most people. And they say there's a sweet spot between 300 and 600 listings (more people say 600 listings seems to make eBay take you as a eBay seller more seriously)... these are individual listings not multi quantity listings. Going by the size of your store (# of active listings and reviews) it looks like you're just getting started, give yourself some time. consistency is the number one issue with 98% of resellers. If you are not consistently doing some thing in your store it just doesn't do well it's like you disappear your things disappear and nobody even sees them you are a ghost if you are not actively listing promoting having sales ending and relisting it's a whole deal (you have to feed the beast) eBay is not easy and it's not fast money it is a grind. The process is simple the difficult part is having self-discipline to be consistent. I am horrible at being consistent with list but love to source 😅 but that is not a good combo because I have a huge deathpile 😱
Really great advice @Makingendsmeet! It wasn’t my comment/question but I really enjoyed the response!
I understand how you feel, I started a few months ago and felt the same for 3 months just one or two items sold once in a while, but suddenly on the 4th month I started selling regularly and paid off. Don’t get discouraged, be patient and it will reward you at some point ❤🎉
Nooooo nooo more live sales content Becky
Congratulations on your numbers! Love your conscientious, too. Integrity for the win.
PSA: items that we pay for (even for ourselves or family/friends) have a COG. Definitely confirm with a CPA, but if a COG is not recorded, profit will show as higher, which means income tax could be higher come tax time. 🩷
Yes! Thank you for the reminder - I've been told that before and just am so used to recording the cost of goods as nothing that I can't seem to break the habit. But you're right - it looks like more income, which only means I have to pay more in taxes!
