    This is a great review. I drive motorcycles for 40 years. Started on a Suzuki 380 2-stroke, Honda CB400N, Honda CB750 (single camshaft), CB750 (double camshaft). In 2014 I drove a Yamaha VMax when I did a test ride on a Zero SR. I was flabbergasted and turned my Yamaha Vmax (great machine) in on the Zero SR. After five lovely years with my Zero SR without any trouble, I swapped to a Zero SR/F. I love electric motorcycling.

    I recently tried a SRF - Awesome machine - with a premium fell , infact it felt more premium than any other bike I've tried this year. I want one to test for a couple weeks and review it if anyone can put me in touch with someone that would be great!!

    Love my 21 DSR . Amazing quality. This is a premium product. As such the high price. Best brakes I have ever had on a bike, and I have had a few. Test ride one and you will know what I mean. Thank you Zero , wish you much success in 2024 and beyond.

    i am all for spreading good information on electric bikes, with all there faults, i still own and love to ride my zero dsr, so why does at 1:05 seconds you CAN quote him saying the highway range is 165-170 miles ? at 65 mph, that's odd cause its totally false, that's the city range, not highway , highway is more like ONLY 80 miles of range. even ON zeros own website they Quote 200 MILES CITY IS WITH the power tank. NOT the info this guy is saying you can hear him say, 220 miles of range in city driven miles. he mentioned no extra power tank for 3k. it seems worse when its only 200 miles of city range, with the 3k dollar power tank option added on the 14.4 kw battery it comes with.which most owners might not have. but that's the default range ? i just wish they would quote practical figures, like how charging time is listed to geto to 80 percent in about a hour instead of saying 1hr and a half to full charge.

    The motor is so cool looking, great job, Zero! You've nailed fit and finish with the SR/F, although a black stealth version would be heart-stopping. For trail riding or light dual-sport and short adventures, the FX looks perfect, but it needs a little more range and charge time has to come down somehow. I know you're working on it. I'm saying keep up the good work. You guys are the point of the spear. Thanks! - Future Zero Owner

    Can you drive on the Freeway in California? I ask because in California a motorcycle needs to have an engine with "over 150cc displacement" to use a Freeway.

  • @courcheval
    @courcheval 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you want to transform the mobility, add DC charging like Energica. Electric motorcycles should be more than expensive commuters, you should be able to travel with them too.

    Why not try hub motors and free space for bigger battery?

    • @nithulnath9331
      @nithulnath9331 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are not good for a high performance package. The hub motor acting as unsprung weight at the rear wheel will hinder the performance at higher speed even though it could accelerate faster from the start compared to a mid motor.

    • @gallaghergibson8024
      @gallaghergibson8024 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      because the physics of a hub motor make the handling awful at speeds of anything higher than 30mph or so. which is one reason why i ditched my super soco for a zero

    Why is it that when talking about charging times they all quote the charging times of 0-80% rather than 100%?

    • @A--lex
      @A--lex 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Because the last 20% needs more time so it probably needs another half an hour to 100%

    • @wolfpackpete6408
      @wolfpackpete6408 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@A--lex it's still not an accurate real world quote they give. People won't wait until it's at 0% and push it to a charging point and they are likely to want a full charge since the range isn't good anyway.

    Zero Motorcycles are a hard sale why spend 20k on a bike when you can buy a nice car for that price?

    • @martysk8r
      @martysk8r 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A nice car is not a quiet, performance electric motorcycle. People will buy what they want IF they can afford it. It's not the smartest thing to spend your last 20K on a motorcycle, but if you have extra funds, these bikes are looking better and better.

      Vids of people actually doing it vary between about 3.4 - 4.8 secs. Not quite sure how you can get such a variation when there's virtually nothing to it other than whacking the accelerator wide open and waiting, but it's right there on video for all to see. I tried it myself and the only meaningful timing I could do without a GoPro was "fuuuuuuuu"

    • @M1XEDBAG
      @M1XEDBAG 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Caspian Prince if they are rolling already or if they are “whacking” the throttle wide open from a stand still and spinning the tire a bit before they take off your going to have varying times. Just a thought. But theoretically they can go about 3 sec if not a tad faster
