i was at that gig. Even though i smashed my left knee and required surgery a week later, it was well worth the pain. One of the best live acts I've ever seen.
Benoit Froger Seriously. I saw them live on recommendation from a friend. Far and away the best live band I've ever seen. The energy was incredible, and it was just so FUN!
This band can pick you up in any mood. Something about the minimalist approach and the awesome hooks, just nothing like them. Holds up very well after all these years. Hugely underrated drummer - he's their secret weapon.
yeah, 2 string bass - three string guitar and a flavorful but not overdone drummer. Perfect.
I'm so stupid, I thought "2 string" bass was an expression used to describe a playing style. This dude is rocking a real "2 string" bass. 🤯

I've been to quite a bit of live concerts but this one here looks like the most positive vibed concert I've ever seen!! I wasn't there but just watching it on TH-cam here I can tell everyone there ESPECIALLY THE BAND HAD A BLAST THAT NIGHT!!!

You know when we started out in 1994 we had no idea what we were doing we just made a bunch of songs up in our practice space we had no idea we made froggies and chickies and monkeys and kitties went out and played for a bunch of our friends and a bunch more of our friends came and then a bunch of people we didn’t know came all of a sudden a bunch of people from major labels came and said hey you wanna sign up wanna do a major label record we said sure why not so we sold 4 million copies went all around the world a hundred million times got really really tired really really sick of it we broke up for 5 years and all of a sudden we got back together we said hey you wanna make another record sure let’s go and love everybody let’s make a bunch of songs up ok sure that sounds great and then let’s go to Amsterdam and play for YOU!!

EASILY THE BEST LIVE BAND
If you read the book about the industry do's & don'ts called "Indie 911" there's a spot where the Presidents were with others doing a showing for "industry only" big wigs and out of nowhere the power went out except for one amplifier on stage. In pro fashion the only one to hop up there and keep things moving was Ballew grabbing a guitar and rocking it on the fly. Well deserving of a contract in my opinion. Pure Beast.
