Believe, Ask, Trust; Mark

It's far too tempting to fall into the trap of literal readings of Jesus miracles and dismiss God completely when we don't have similar experiences. But Jesus' teachings and miracles were about more than physical curing, they were about spiritual wholeness. Healing was far more than a simple cure.
This story includes the number 12 with both the bleeding woman and the little girl. 12 was not just a number for Mark's community, it also meant God was in the experience.
These healings came with people at the end of their proverbial rope and asking for help, finally, once they had tried everything else. That is the learning for us: Ask God, perhaps even before you've tried every other option. God will be there in your situation. That is a promise.
