He was actually quite well off financially, living in a beautiful place near Park Ave (and help paying for his children / grand children's college educations). He always worked for himself selling items on the street, for decades.

Le Darkside Le : Boss Optical Steady System (BOSS) made by Sony...works great, almost no need for a tripod/monopod....or shoulder mount works as well with systems without BOSS....same results. However, holding any camera eventually ends up with arm fatigue and then the shot falls apart...so longer duration shots use a shoulder mount or tripod even for small handycams or camcorders. Cleans shake up nice...and a lot less expensive then the cost of BOSS in a camera.
I remember this gentleman all so well. He really did sell the best machine as he called it. I bought one from him over 10 years ago, and it still works perfectly! I’ve bought other peelers, and none of them are as good or as versatile as his. Whenever I return home to New York and go to the Union Square Market on Saturdays, his presence is truly missed. Le Darkside Le : Boss Optical Steady System (BOSS) made by Sony...works great, almost no need for a tripod/monopod....or shoulder mount works as well with systems without BOSS....same results. However, holding any camera eventually ends up with arm fatigue and then the shot falls apart...so longer duration shots use a shoulder mount or tripod even for small handycams or camcorders. Cleans shake up nice...and a lot less expensive then the cost of BOSS in a camera.

I’ve bought other peelers, and none of them are as good or as versatile as his. Whenever I return home to New York and go to the Union Square Market on Saturdays, his presence is truly missed.
