RATE THE SUPER: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4: Road to Boruto... god, that would be WAY too long... not the title, it's pretty damn long, too, but the video itself... Just the simple Ultimates Compilation videos are long enough, but to squeeze in ratings and stuff as well? There are more characters in that game than there is in BlazBlue, and many of them have more than one ultimate.
@@GrahamChapman I'd say if they do it, they should only to the hidden techniques and that's it, even the special ones depending on the group of characters. If he goes through everyone it would take 2 hours lmao
I think Ranger has the best. If you feel it's missing that "oomph", then I think you get it if you kill with it. The one final bullet into the freeze screen hits so hard.
This why I tend to not watch these videos because Max can be so contradictory with his ratings. Gives a 10 for Swiftmaster but not a 10 for Ranger which I agree is a 10.
honestly, I just love the way he goes "Oooookay!" at the start, makes it seem like he's starting taking things a bit more seriously and is completely done with your shit before he uses Seventh Flow
I feel like a large amount of the impact is lost because you don't see HP bars going down during the attacks. It's not really the same as an instant-kill attack where you know it's going to end the match; you want to see how much each hit does. At least the developers did a good job staying loyal to the source material.
@@Chronuz I really didn't get much of a punchy feel, it feels like the supers start and finish kind of the same even when it's a huge beam, like it's just all too smooth imo. It's like if Ryu did his shinku shoryuken and it just went full speed, the whole impact from build up, the really fast punch and then the opponent's face as Ryu builds up another is just lost if you skip the slower moments and make it all smoother and sped up Edit: i forgor
@@Chronuz That isn't what he meant. Just that not seeing the HP makes them less impactful, not surprising. As fighting game players HP is the measure of damage, so if you don't see the HP go down, it doesn't feel like damage is being done until after the super.
I think part of the reason Swiftmaster's super stands out is that most characters super takes place in the same rocky terrain and cloudy skies, while Swiftmaster's super is a lot brighter, taking place mostly in a tornado and then the clear skies.
I WANT to like Swift's. But I feel after realizing it's just Chipp's Zansei Rouga I have to knock off points for laziness. Same with Striker's. It's just Banki Messai.
Ranger's is definitely my favourite. It totally satisfies the fantasy of a dual-pistol user for me. It's quick, flashy and acrobatic. Great little moment at the start with him peering out from beneath the brim of his hat. Zips towards the opponent, zooms around them, then finishes with an awesome spinning flip into the final shot. The supers overall are pretty decent but not amazing. I can only hope this is the start of a good fighting game series that they'll expand on. They certainly have plenty of characters they could add.
I have to admit, these supers are kind of of a bit basic but the developers did some good job on making the supers to be what it does like in the original game. Although, I wonder if there will be neo awakening as special skins in Dnf Duel? If so, there supers would be lot cooler alright.
My favorite is Dragon Knight's. I love the close up shot of her face you get right before she swings, her battle cry during the swing, and the way the sword slices the dragon's tornado attack in half.
I think Swift Master is the best simply because it's not set in the same featureless grey rocky plateau. Would have loved to see these supers but set on the actual stages.

I had to come back to Ranger at 2:37 once Max had been through them all, and I really feel like he's got the best super in the game. It takes his quick, blinding speed and gunplay making it impossible for the opponent to track where he is. It's not a mind-blowing super that makes you want to stand up in awe, but there's something about the delivery that _feels_ super satisfying that matches the tone of the character.
These supers don’t really show much character aside from the funny guy talks shit and blows you up, and maybe the knight lady who burns you like a witch. I think back to Xrd’s supers and instant kills. Baiken’s is cool in such a subdued way, Dizzy’s shows off her kind nature, Faust is a funny man. Even Street Fighter 4 and 5, whose supers can be a bit lackluster, have their characters show off who they are. Juri saying something horny before snapping your neck and G’s Uncle Sam point to camera before blasting your ass, those are iconic. I get nothing from watching character’s I’ve never seen before do a cool move.
I think you might just have some sort of bias with these games meaning more to you, can you really not see the difference in Berserker and Vanguard's Furiosity, how Ranger and Hitman look when gunning down their opponent, Striker having a flurry while Grappler has a technique, Troubleshooter being expressive and Launcher being cold, those small things seem to be there even if the characters are just "classes" originally.
I think part of the reason why these supers seem generally unspectacular is the sfx. They often don’t sound as damaging as they appear, with some exceptions

Ah I was waiting for this I'm glad the supers are "simple" because we will be watching them A LOT OF TIMES, multiple times during a match/round even. Anything long would get very boring
My favourite is very clearly Strikers. It does everything perfectly. Exactly what Max said at the outro. Have fun with these because eventually they will get old. These ultimates sell copies and definitely had me buy the game especially after trying both betas too
Berserker, Ghost Blade, and Dragon have my faves by _far_ , but really, every single one is a cinematic accomplishment. Except Lost Warrior's, but just his
1:20 I now want you to rate all the Supers in a Warriors game. Be it Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, or crossovers like Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, any game.
Idk if it’s the game or Max edited it out, but there being no music that matches the super really kills the vibe for most of these, they’d be so sick with a rockin BGM but there’s dainty little flutes in the back
Shocked by Max giving the majority of supers 6 or 7/10, despite them all looking AMAZING. 15, hell, 10 years ago these would all have been 10/10. We've really gotten spoiled....
I dont know. to me, the average of all the supers is like 6-8 out of 10, so they are really good for a fighting game initial roster, but at least to me, they didnt feel like "OMG that so cool/10" maybe is the lack of personalized music like in a insta-kill of Xrd2 , the sound effect choice or not having subtitles for when they are talking you down to have some context . is a pretty weird feeling to have, even though they all are pretty good.
I feel like a lot of these feel really basic, like I was really expecting them to do awakening skills, like grappler punches you in the ground so hard that it spawns an active volcano under you, grabs the boulder you were on then punches you skywards splitting the boulder and erupts the volcano. Or Ranger grabbing and boomaranging 6-8 guns around you grabbing each one and throws them again. launcher grabbing a mech then shoots you and a city to blitz. And Crusader summoning the fucking rapture so bright that it eluminates half the planet. In summary Give me neos you cowards
DFO's skills have tons of references to other video games and anime so it's likely where it was inspired by. Just as another example, the Male Mechanic class in DFO literally has Jin's Blodia Punch super as a skill, Elven Knight has a skill that basically does Giga Drill Breaker from TTGL but with a tree, and Specialist does a double reppuken but with a sword
Does anyone know if Max has reacted to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Solo and/or Team Ultimate Attacks? I feel like he’s a big fan of Hyper-Kinetic Supers with very stylish camera work, and that game is full of it!
Yeah Inquisitor’s is definitely the best in my opinion, her super just fits her very well and has incredible presentation and finish, honestly only Dragon Knight and Berserker come close for me.
@@staffmeister9550 yeah, but in my opinion that’s what makes it great, I’m a sucker for big red beasts and raining blood effects. I just like fire more.

Exactly what Max said at the outro. Have fun with these because eventually they will get old. These ultimates sell copies and definitely had me buy the game especially after trying both betas too
Grappler's super is literally Rock Lee's hidden lotus. 10/10
Idk if it’s the game or Max edited it out, but there being no music that matches the super really kills the vibe for most of these, they’d be so sick with a rockin BGM but there’s dainty little flutes in the back
"These supers are gonna get old fast" DLC supers are coming, I'm calling it.
Shocked by Max giving the majority of supers 6 or 7/10, despite them all looking AMAZING. 15, hell, 10 years ago these would all have been 10/10. We've really gotten spoiled....
I dont know. to me, the average of all the supers is like 6-8 out of 10, so they are really good for a fighting game initial roster, but at least to me, they didnt feel like "OMG that so cool/10"
maybe is the lack of personalized music like in a insta-kill of Xrd2 , the sound effect choice or not having subtitles for when they are talking you down to have some context .
is a pretty weird feeling to have, even though they all are pretty good.
max is rating these supers way higher than I expected. not many of these would go above a 7 for me
4:28 ... It's "Celestial Star" from Valkyrie Profile. Holy shit
As a fan of the OG game, the fact that Launcher has F.Mechanic's outfit drives me actually insane.
"7 out of 10, a decent starter" The chaarcter you compared it to you gave a 10/10 lol
The tall lanky guy has the best super hands down. He even starts it with engrish
"O. K. "
Jesus's super feels like Metatron's Fires of Sinai in SMT V
To Max's point, Ranger talks a lot of shit during his Super, but it's all in Japanese/Korean, except for the very end; 'Adios.'
This Anime looks almost like a fighting game.
I love that he calls it a "general Lu Bu Dynasty Warriors super"
Lost Warrior is so based that his legs turned into a beard.
I never noticed the cube affect behind the character before they do a super till now. Cube skills from the MMO. :D
He should definitely rate the ninja storm ultimates that would be crazy
Bruh ranger’s super is literally one of joon gi han’s supers from yakuza 7
the guys at yakuza might have been inspired.. since DFO is far older than Yakuza 7
More like the opposite
@@samuelsun3560 oh shit you’re right
DFO's skills have tons of references to other video games and anime so it's likely where it was inspired by. Just as another example, the Male Mechanic class in DFO literally has Jin's Blodia Punch super as a skill, Elven Knight has a skill that basically does Giga Drill Breaker from TTGL but with a tree, and Specialist does a double reppuken but with a sword
Really? That's what they do with the big boss? A couple tosses and a slam? I thought he had power over TIME or something, so use what he's got!
Karate guy reminds me so much of Sega-san Shiro the OG Dream Cast mascot. LOLZ
2:06 I'm reminded of the MVC2 ship stage
2:30 Nine foot tall dude with legs for days is like Vermillion and Nagisa from Toshinden 3.
The lu bu reference brought me back to childhood for brief moment
Max basically gave them one point higher on everything than I did.
Oh how I wish Trouble Shooter said “LET’S GO!”
The gunners are tall because their race have longer legs than normal humans iirc
Rate the Super with the Capcom Fighting Collection video would be cool. I know Vampire Savior and Super Gem Fighter have great ones.
Does anyone know if Max has reacted to the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Solo and/or Team Ultimate Attacks?
I feel like he’s a big fan of Hyper-Kinetic Supers with very stylish camera work, and that game is full of it!
Man Arc system works and there fighting games…
Amazingly well done animated supers. ❤️👍💫
At this point we're desensitized to how awesome all of them are honestly
Yeah Inquisitor’s is definitely the best in my opinion, her super just fits her very well and has incredible presentation and finish, honestly only Dragon Knight and Berserker come close for me.
Idk about berzerker. His super is like turning into a bunch of bullshit and then lunging at you.
@@staffmeister9550 yeah, but in my opinion that’s what makes it great, I’m a sucker for big red beasts and raining blood effects. I just like fire more.
there is an offness to these supers, but props is still really deserved since they have lots of great camera motion and cinematics, just missing that sound and impact that you need for a good super
Edit: Rate the Trial combos 7 & 8
The comment about striker, press buttons equal win, also applies to Hitman
Enchantress is only for Juri fans, well that is a hecking load of people
I feel a possible issue is only having cinematic supers than also having more normal ones
I wish this game was actual a beat 'em up like the original Dungeon Fighter Online. Imagine an actual, not pay-to-win, beat 'em up game animated by ArcSystems? Specially since the genre is on the Renaissance Era with Streets of Rage 4 and TMNT Shredder's Revenge.
9:28 "It's no use"
Ranger camera work pumps it up to 10/10 for me.
I think Hitmans super is amazing. Close to a 10 imo
The Karate Ragnarok super...would almost fit Ryu or Ken in a way! Maybe not for a more grounded fighter like SF6, but maybe for a Versus game!
it should be three jesuses, you max, are one of them
Ranger being a 9 while Inquisitor goes to 10 is a crime
