What a blessing to see Carly singing this song and a toast to the lucky people who got to see this in person. Carly had had her own struggles with mental health issues, one of which was (for a time) stage fright. So, it great to see her on stage with the likes of legendary song writer Jimmy Webb and harmonic friend David Crosby paying tribute to the AMAZING Brian Wilson. What a gift this is!

20 years ago. Great harmony ! I wish to say with authority, Jimmy Webb. is a really good human being. My mom (96) and I enjoyed Jimmys show in Seattle a while back. after the show mom and I went back to say hello to Jimmy. My mom was enamored with Jimmy who spoke about his upbringing in Oklahoma not far from where my recently deceased father was born. Jimmy automatically gave my mom a big bear hug. What a complete package of a talented man.
I'm not a huge Beach Boys fan, but it's VERY hard to not like this song. Anybody and everybody can relate to it. My dad is a HUGE CSN&Y fan, so I was always hearing them. "Deja Vu" is a brilliant album. I wasn't born 'til the 80's, so all this all was before my time, but the music from that era blows anything since out of the water. I'm really jealous of you Baby Boomers.

Introduced by the great actor/writer Chazz Palmenteri. Crosby is s genius. Simon is still fine. And Jimmy Webb, one of the greatest songwriters in pop/rock history. Great idea to put these three together. The they sing one of the best songs ever written.
Carly is cooler than the other side of the pillow. I spend some time on the Vineyard every year. She is always there and friendly as hell. I remember years ago (1994 maybe) that a friend of mine was the chief of a volunteer fire department in one of the townships and needed a new garage for the fire trucks. She volunteered to do a concert on the island and paid for the whole things. About the same year she auctioned off a private concert in a home to benefit the library. It went for over $85,000. She, Crosby and Webb knock this one out of the box.

It is fast becoming my favorite Beach Boys song. Brian Wilson nailed the teenage experience with this piece. These three did a great job, but the original by the Boys, was and is an absolute masterpiece !!

OMG I was 8th row from the stage. Such a child at 28 and I was mesmerized by this concert. It's stayed with me almost 20 yrs and I love each time I see a clip from the concert.

Wonderful performance of a great Brian Wilson/Beach Boys tune.
For those asking, this tune was an early period Beach Boys hit. Their 'hits years' were approx 1962 to 1967. 'In My Room' appeared on their second album "Surfer Girl" in 1963 and was an early indicator of Brian's musical genius with chords and vocal harmonies. "Endless Summer" came out in the early 1970s and introduced a new generation of fans to Beach Boys magic...it continues to do so. If i can only have on BBs album, that's it.
Dayum... I been crushin on Carly since the late 60's... this song is even in my key... nothing to hate here... I just love the blend of voices on this track.

What a totally interesting trio. I do not think this song should be relegated only to those who suffer depression. Many of us as teens who were fortunate enough to have our own rooms understood it on that level. We played the radio stations we wanted to hear, or the LPs (I'm old) or cassettes or CDs we loved (that our parents didn't want to hear), did our homework, read, shut out the noises of the rest of the house. We didn't even need to have our own TV or phone, but that would be an added luxury.
While the song is about being alone in a room, the lyrics suggest a contemplative state of mind, not exclusively relegated to depressive thoughts, but “ all my worries and my woes” suggest a troubled state of mind. It is not a cheerful song. Wallowing in sadness is something that music can accommodate. It’s in the power of music to induce all sorts of emotional states.

There isn't a person who has not gone thru a period of depression at some time or other . You can let it break you down and tare you apart or you can choose to climb out of it and live life. We all go thru deep valleys at some point in our lives, I choose to climb to the mountain top !!!!!
