Ich auch . Ich liebe dieses Lied ❤ zu dieser Zeit hab ich in einem Lokal gearbeitet. Es gab noch die Jukebox. Meine schönste Zeit. Da war ich 14 Jahre alt😊
I was born February 1958. I am so thankful I grew up listening to Carly. She is so talented and magical when she sings. She draws you in and brings out the true emotion of love. She is my best singer and artist. If there is anyone who can move a heart it is the beautiful Carly Simon! You are the best Carly and you are loved greatly.
I met her and James Taylor when there daughter graduated high school. I was doing a detail and was blown away how nice and down to earth. I said I’m a big fan of both of you Mrs Simon and Mr Taylor. She said I’m Carly, he said I’m James. They said your so young, it makes us feel young when your generation is a fan of our music and it’s a pleasure to meet you officer, I said I’m Jeff. They both smiled, shook my hand and went on there way.
I saw her with Hall and Oates at Jones Beach in New York... She had her whole living room recreated and set the stage with it to help her with her stage fright ! Wonderful Show !
Your so vain Carly Simon: My first Love at13 years old I played this song to my Lover. at a bus station in Portland, Oregon. You got 5 songs for a quarter on a juke Box. My heart got broken. That was in 1972. I'm now 64 and this song is so important to me. Thank you Carly Simon, Your one of the best, ever...
_I was just fourteen, but knew this song was about to define a big part of my adolescence. Interesting some 51 years later I still can relate to this masterpiece._
So true! She and her voice also seem 2 evolve like a good wine. It freaked me out after so many years! My favourite station is playing this song almost every 2 days so I`ve got her young voice in my ear. Seeing and listening to this thrills me! I`ve seen many acts years after their best times and just a few gained more musical weight and energy. She does! Love her grown-voice and presence :-D

The record version is so evocative because of her youth, even if this performance is better. It's a sad song and as time heals all wounds this performance has a maturity and lost a bit of the clarity or currency it once had. I could say the same for Carole King with I Can Feel the Earth. It seems the currency has gone out of the song with passing decades and with it the freshness - for me at least.

Carly's voice is like warm sunshine on the face, it just feels right. Her and Karen carpenter, my 2 favorite female voices. Carly just had that smile that made you feel good and add her music, well there's a winning combo for you. I saw her at a free concert in Grand Central NYC and man was she great!
I'm 24 and just watched this in 2020 and it gave me tears it was so tremendous. I'm so happy I just witnessed this masterpiece of an orchestration. I remember hearing my parents play this song a lot while growing up. This was great. I'm glad Carly is still kicking it with us.
I was just thinking how, after all these years, and probably performing it thousands of times, she gives it the same fresh interpretation as back in the 70s. Great artist.
What an infectious smile, and the way she carries herself too. Absolutely adorable, always was. You hear a lot of kindness from her at the end when she thanks the crowd, the way she says it you can just tell she's a real sweetheart.
How great it is to hear great songs played by musicians who play the song not trying to show off their chops. They make the song breathe. As a musician who's played quite a bit in recording studios nationwide, there's no greater high than when you hit that zone where you can not only feel the song breathing, you can see it breathing. These players are excellent .
This is one of my all time favorite songs and i wasnt even born when this was recorded. One day i will learn it on guitar. Such a gorgeous lady and still got the voice
I just love this. When I was a kid I used to hear this song on the radio and it reminds me of my youth and it's so great to see Carly performing it here. She absolutely killed it and she knew it.
What a fantastic song, it brings back so many memories. Donna H this one is for your my friend not for the reason many of you would think. She was singing it in a art class I was taking and that moment always stuck in my mind
Quando una voce sublime si abbina a una grinta travolgente non può che venirne fuori un'esibizione capace di smuovere anche le montagne. Grandissima Carly Simon, ineguagliabile protagonista della superba musica newyorchese anni 70.
@@kixigvak Yes, I think you are right. And the same goes for musicians. They get more and more experience and if they continue to practice when they get older, they just get better and better 👍😉
My wife and I married in 1979. The opening song, to dance only by groom and bride was "You're so vain", chosen by myself and played by an excellent band devoted to soft rock. Of course a song not suitable for a wedding party but we really enjoyed it. We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary a couple of months ago.
Two of my favorite pleasures in life... Carly Simon and the QM2! Carly has such an awesome, distinctive one of a kind voice... so beautiful and very talented... love her music and especially love this video!!!❤
What a song. What a voice. Have listened to several versions of this today from the 70s to a couple of years ago. All sound so powerful. Who doesn't sing along with the chorus "you're so vain"
Underrated as an artist/songwriter. Her looks/sex appeal overshadowed her talent. What's amazing to me is how she can transcend time, being of her time, yet still timeless too.
Underrated? Ever? I think not. She's always rated among the best American artists there are. This song's got so many hooks, even a mute can bring down the house with it.
2019, listening and admiring a beautiful talented woman ! Music and talent are ageless ! We re all going to cross that corner, just enjoy the journey not the arrival !👊🥂🔥
I also remember when she lived in Riverdale and went to the Riverdale Country School. I had started at the school in my sophomore year. They wanted my voice, not my grades ( Russel Ames was director of admissions). Every Friday evening Russ Ames led practice for the “Small Chorus”. We practiced classical music like the Fourey Requiem. It was a time when the boys school and girls school were separated but for this chorus we were together. I was a tenor and there was this beautiful strong alto. After some of the rehearsals we would go to the Simon home to play pool or just talk. It was a special time of youth when how well you sang was so important. For school assemblies Carley and I would do duets. I will never forget her rich deep alto voice. We were young, our lives ahead of us. She went on to the music world and I went on to the academic world, but at the time Russ Ames unified us into a wonderful chorus of around 12 singers gathered around this really talented leader Russel Ames. I just heard that he died but his music guidance is passed on to the generations he taught the love of music to, both pop and classical. May he Rest In Peace!
After all these years... I still love Carly Simon. Never met her, but wish I could. Everything I've ever read or heard... she is a special kind of person. Beautiful - inside and out, and not the norm for the "celebrity: crowd. This was a wonderful performance. But then.... it's Carly Simon. She's awesome.
17 years come and gone, since this performance. Carly's voice is little raspy butstill good. I was hooked the the day it first palyeed on the radio, so long ago, back in 1972, when I was just a kid in Jr. High.
Carly sounds great still, such a legionary song, I think most of us have one who fits this song. Carly looks good for 76 ha. The years have been kind to her. It must have been magical to be there and watch her sing your so vain..bravo
Coronavirus lockdown has brought me here from Australia. The first time I've heard this song in Vietnam in 1973 and many G.I. still were in the country. 2020 now and I still love it.
Who's still listening to this gem in 2024?
Me right now 🖐️

Can you believe that she suffered from terrible stage fright? - Thanks for pushing through the fear, Carly. Your music continues to enrich my life.
Horrible stage fright ! Matter of fact needed one of her crew to spank her to break up her anxiety ! Can you imagine !

パーティにやって来た ヨットの上を歩いてる
そんな動きで颯爽と 狙って帽子を目深に被り 片目だけを隠してた
身に着けてるスカーフは 鮮やかなアプリコットで

The smile she has at the end of the song - you can't help but love her for it!
Fantastic song ❤❤❤
Carly's voice is like warm sunshine on the face, it just feels right. Her and Karen carpenter, my 2 favorite female voices. Carly just had that smile that made you feel good and add her music, well there's a winning combo for you. I saw her at a free concert in Grand Central NYC and man was she great!
Lucky you
Add Judith Dunham ( Geogry Girl) to that mix.
@@davidd1395 and Mary Travers❗
I'm 24 and just watched this in 2020 and it gave me tears it was so tremendous. I'm so happy I just witnessed this masterpiece of an orchestration. I remember hearing my parents play this song a lot while growing up. This was great. I'm glad Carly is still kicking it with us.
What a brilliant talent she is, it's like time has stood still, Carly still has youth on her side, ageless, super dooper.
Such a beautiful woman and a timeless classic.
Love you Carly.
カントリ―ロ―。!!!!
I was just thinking how, after all these years, and probably performing it thousands of times, she gives it the same fresh interpretation as back in the 70s. Great artist.
Remember
She holds the title of 'least changed voice since the 70's.' Timeless. provocative, sexy, foxy and mystic. pure 'WOMAN POWER !
@David S. I know I miss that great music, its all gone a real shame too.
@David S. I think there are talents today, as well, but the music ends up so over produced you can't even tell.
What an infectious smile, and the way she carries herself too. Absolutely adorable, always was. You hear a lot of kindness from her at the end when she thanks the crowd, the way she says it you can just tell she's a real sweetheart.
Find ich auch!
Shhhh.
. just listen
Carly's music is as close to perfect as pop/rock can get.
Everyone's dressed to the max, and Carly's in jeans. Love it! :)
I wondered about this also. I think it was on a cruise ship, maybe after the "formal dinner"?
Carly being Carly, down to earth. Love the orchestra
There aren't words to describe her. So gorgeous, so talented, and that voice gives me chills.
Can't keep a GOOD woman down, God bless you Queen Carly Simon. God's love is coming around again. Prayers to you. Your the BEST!
Carly is so great. Voice, looks, and plays guitar. ❤
And writes songs!
Love her so much
No matter what anybody says I love Carly. I love the way she looks and the way she sings. She is my diva from the 70s no doubt
That voice. And that spirit. Indomitable! ❤
Carly is just one of the best and most talented. I can listen to her all night. I have her live at Martha’s Vineyard DVD and still play it. I love it.
I was 2years old when this song came out, I was born Feb22nd 1970
Love how the band is totally all in and loving it
Back when women didn't show 90% of their body, they just relied on talent
That’s her daughter singing back up the blonde. Beautiful
Beautiful song, contagious smile, fabulous voice, great singer...Carly is a gift for our ears
I know donna h.
Did you think this song was about you when she sang it? xD
@@aceto1900 How vain.
Simon duncan,
Quando una voce sublime si abbina a una grinta travolgente non può che venirne fuori un'esibizione capace di smuovere anche le montagne. Grandissima Carly Simon, ineguagliabile protagonista della superba musica newyorchese anni 70.
It's a great song, and her voice is as good here as when she was younger 😍
Better. She sounds even more like she means it now.
If a singer stays healthy their voice improves with age.
@@kixigvak Yes, I think you are right. And the same goes for musicians. They get more and more experience and if they continue to practice when they get older, they just get better and better 👍😉
You are incorrect, but her voice still great!
@@samatoid incorrect about what?
My wife and I married in 1979. The opening song, to dance only by groom and bride was "You're so vain", chosen by myself and played by an excellent band devoted to soft rock. Of course a song not suitable for a wedding party but we really enjoyed it. We celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary a couple of months ago.
Love Story or Speak Softly by Andy Williams were better for such occasions.. Sweden.
I won't sing along to any chorus. I break eardrums and am asked to stop singing along to happy birthday.
Carly Simon is a legend a voice that will go on forever
She is a timeless, wonderful, beautiful, talented lady
Underrated as an artist/songwriter. Her looks/sex appeal overshadowed her talent. What's amazing to me is how she can transcend time, being of her time, yet still timeless too.
Underrated? Ever? I think not. She's always rated among the best American artists there are. This song's got so many hooks, even a mute can bring down the house with it.
2019, listening and admiring a beautiful talented woman ! Music and talent are ageless ! We re all going to cross that corner, just enjoy the journey not the arrival !👊🥂🔥
still with her the voice the look Carly your a legend
This song is my all-time favourite! And so is Carly Simon...
The Queen Mary is simply the best ship I have ever been on - sheer class which totally deserves a performer as classy as Carly. This is great!
She a class act. Make no matter where.
The one in long beach Ca? I know there are several queen marys, at least I believe. The one in Ca I've been to a million times..
@@benjamins9121 No. Queen Mary 2. Cunard's flagship.
@@albertochoa7331 The Titanic was a class act
@@ABSDEFRD I'm sure it is a CLASS act that's why she play there. Feeling the LOVE.
Can we talk about her 3 back up singers? They are perfect!
The blonde is her daughter Sally
I don’t care how old she is. She sounds good and still looks amazing!!
Carly never gets old and neither does this song :)
What a great clip - still hot - still relevant - and that drum break kills.
This song does not age and it sounds as good now as when I first heard it. What a performance!
She and her band did a really nice job on this as I imagine that since Carly's older it's harder to hit some of those higher notes. Well done!
What a beautiful woman and a wonderful voice. Will never go out still!!
She's still got it after all these years!!!
After all these years... I still love Carly Simon. Never met her, but wish I could. Everything I've ever read or heard... she is a special kind of person. Beautiful - inside and out, and not the norm for the "celebrity: crowd. This was a wonderful performance. But then.... it's Carly Simon. She's awesome.
wow - raucous, real, deep and sensational. wonderful to see and feel her at her very best and loving it. The pump ups are brilliant and so inspiring
She’s 76 and still looks and sounds fantastic!
Hello Eileen, How are you doing?
listening to this making me going back to the 70s making me young again
❤❤❤❤ great tune
This is the best live version of this song , hands down.
I was still in high school when i first heard this song, how time flies so fast....Carly is still awesome.
Love this and the "Spy who loved me" ❤
Wow!!! What a great performance ❤🎉
amazing version of a timeless classic
17 years come and gone, since this performance. Carly's voice is little raspy butstill good. I was hooked the the day it first palyeed on the radio, so long ago, back in 1972, when I was just a kid in Jr. High.
Carly sounds great still, such a legionary song, I think most of us have one who fits this song. Carly looks good for 76 ha. The years have been kind to her. It must have been magical to be there and watch her sing your so vain..bravo
This song never gets old. Soo empowering!
Long Live Queen CarlY!! still the same. always imitated but never duplicated!!! the ONE AND ONLY!!
wow i love the beat of the song, you can see the happiness and joy the way she sing... thumbs up
Coronavirus lockdown has brought me here from Australia. The first time I've heard this song in Vietnam in 1973 and many G.I. still were in the country. 2020 now and I still love it.
She has a natural charm. It looked like she just enjoyed the singing and playing the guitar. I really enjoy watching her performance.
