Henry Leland was already 60 when he started in the auto industry, but he still made a massive impact by creating both Cadillac and Lincoln. Enjoy and be sure to subscribe for more videos like this

I upgraded from a 2014 Toyota Highlander to a 2024 Cadillac XT4 this past weekend (the 2024 highlander drove the same and is pretty much the same chasis and interior so it's boring).
The Cadillac XT4 has no turbo lag that I can feel. Every other car that I test drove had turbo lag, whether short or long...Mercedes GLC300 (least turbo lag), BMW X3 (a little more turbo lag), Porsche Macan S (even more turbo lag), Honda (way too much turbo lag).
The Cadillac has these features that TH-camrs miss:
    - lighted logo behind the dashboard
    - pulsating safety seat (most cars only beep)
    - left behind child in the rear seat alert
    - capless fuel tank (like my 2017 Corvette C7 )
    - umbrella storage in the doors (like Rolls Royce)
    - active noise cancellation (like my 2017 Corvette C7 with Bose)
    - power passenger seat with lumbar
    - free 5G hotspot
    - stop/start feature is the smoothest I’ve ever experienced that I don't even notice it.
My other car is a 2017 Corvette Stingray in stickshift.

Great video! Henry Leland was also a very moral person. He led bible studies at lunch for his workers. Can you imagine that today? :) I’ve been to his gravesite in Detroit and we spent a few minutes removing the overgrowing grass from the headstone.

I just turned 49, and the closest I've come to owning a Cadillac was that my first car was almost a Cimarron (i know, I know). That said, my last 4 cars have been either a Buick or a Lincoln sedan. I love Lincolns.

I think Lincoln are as nice as Cadillac. Especially the older ones. Cheers!

Henry Leland has created 2 luxury brands that rival each other (Cadillac and Lincoln).

Yeah, he fired Bunky Knudsen who went over to GM and revived Chevrolet, a great story.

@genehart261 David Knudson was Bunkies Dad , Whom Henry Ford fired, After all the years that Bunkie was at GM Henry Ford the 2 hired Bunkie and then fired Bunkie bout a year and half later so history repeated itself.

I knew about this roughly a decade ago. Most people don’t know that Cadillac actually came from Ford even to this day! But it’s true and yes this was a great video. Thank you

So many investors make money and no one knows them at all. These are the real people Ford and Leland had to answer to. Good ideas without funds, are of little use.

Love your stuff. Ive watched 5 videos in a row. But please consider making them longer. You have excellent content and your delivery is spectacular. But there's lots of channels that do 5- 10 minute infomercial length stuff and your videos are a much higher quality. Just a request.... please don't stop!

Lincoln was not a good looking car until Edsel Ford put his designs into production. Edsel also designed the second model A Ford.
    Good video. Enjoyed very much.😊

Point of order, the founder if Cadillac was Henry Ford, Leland "stole" it from him... Started Lincoln after he lost Caddy to GM, that he later ended up with that too... Good story...

Irony aside...why isn't this man honored more? Or at all? He created the American Luxury genre of cars! He made all parts interchangeable. He gets a dumpy, haunted old apartment building in downtown Detroit and a street named after him on the east side of town that doesn't go very far. I blame cronyism that DOMINATE Detroit to this very day! No ill will shall be spoken of the Big 3... especially Henry Ford here.

In my research, the mistake was that he didn’t use his real name as the companies name. Naming them after other people, Cadillac and Lincoln, hurt him. Henry Ford named everything after himself and worked extra hard to make sure that he had foundations and museums in his name, as well as required his own family to take over the company to continue the name.
The reason the two companies do not honor. Leland is because he resigned from Cadillac to be a competitor with Lincoln, and they resented it. and since Ford owns Lincoln- his grudge kept him from keeping Leland’s name alive. A forgotten man

Henry Ford was not the honorable man he put forth in his public image. He was a cruel- hearted
business man and did many people and other business rivals wrong. No real honor in treating
      people with honor and respect.

Leland and the Dodge Brothers made engines for Olds. The Leland motor was superior to the Dodge brothers' motors. Leland wanted Olds to use an engine he had improved that he Leland was using in his own Oldsmobile but Olds refused because he would have to redesign his car. Leland continued to manufacture the same engine for Olds. Ref. CADILLAC, THE COMPLETE HISTORY by Maurice D. Hendry, third edition
