I grew up in Flint, Michigan, the home of William "Billy" Durant and his General Motors Corporation. While Henry Ford was obsessed with making his entire vehicle in 1 factory in Detroit, Billy bought several hundred companies all over Michigan, and manufactured parts in separate Cities, then sent all parts by trains to Flint for assembly. He was brilliant, starting with buying Buick, Olds & Cadillac and Pontiac, then eventually starting up Chevrolet from scratch. I never knew the history of Louis, so I really appreciate this documentary. Thanks.!!

That was covered in an old Road & Track magazine article written by an insider that was part of the design team that borrowed an XKE from an owner, literally took ti to a warehouse, and sought to see how they could copy it. After going over it, they realized that they could not do it with typical American components at the time, and settled for a transverse leaf spring instead of true independent coil spring rear suspension, etc.8 engines Of course, because they chose to use a fiberglass body on a frame, instead of the lighter weight steel on a semi-monocoque chassis, they offered bigger V-8 engines then the 4.2 liter (256 cu. in.) in line six used with the Jaguar. Still the Jaguar remains the standard.

My understanding is that there's too much electrical interference with a.m. in an electric vehicle so the government can make demands, but if it won't physically work... the car companies are performing an exercise in futility by continuing to put them in.

Really interesting documentary but, My God, that typing across the screen is so irritating and unnecessary. We want to see the cars not text of what's being said. Thanks for posting it though.
