The nice thing about the earlier Japanese commercials is that nearly all of them were featured in Sonic Jam, so SEGA Saturn video compression aside, they're well archived.
Sonic has been a huge idol of mine for years, I've seen him in comic book form and in tons of video games. Sonic is a legendary hero in my eyes.

Man, if that guy in the UK commercials thinks that playing the PAL version makes the world go in slow motion you'd think he'd ascend to a higher plane of reality if he played the normal version.
These commercials are very nostalgic to me because I remember watching them alot when I was younger and rewatching them all compiled into a Video like this is an absolutely awesome way of getting to rewatch them again my favorites where the first 2 with sonic on top of that car humans against genesis and I also loved that one with the female background singers that one would have to be my absolute favorite out of all of the commercials in this video

It's weird to see how many odd choices these people came up with for voicing Sonic. The fandom has raging debates about changing his voice in the games, but man, the commercials sure have a lot more whiplash!

something that aways disapoited me is that in the commercials they say that sonic is incredibly fast, but when I play the games, he isn't really that fast, in fact he needs a powerup for be really fast and this disapointed me when I was a kid

To this day, TecToy still sells SEGA consoles like the Master System and Mega Drive. (Only in Brazil).
Although tectoy consoles are more likely to be emulators than the actual hardware.
Not like its bad tho because in this way every game is "free" in tectoy version if you know what i mean 😏

Heya, thanks for remember the Brazil commercials, I think so strange when they talk like "USA Game of the Year" in the first two ones" and called him a Porco Espinho, that is one of the traductions of the "Hedgehog", but no, Sonic is a "Ouriço" type in portuguese for you know the differents, and a fun fact, Sonic have they arms with no spikes because of Hedgehogs have no spikes on his arms and legs, oh and they can swim, Sonic can't because the Japanese people guessed that Hedgehogs can't swim
