    All that free supercharging available yet you haven't used it since June.
    Very few people realize one of the main perks of owning an EV is to plug it in at night and not have to ever worry about public charging.

    Thanks for sharing. But since its 2017 model it can lack new features or upgrades that tesla did in these 7 years. Plus tesla has battery and drive unit warranty for 8 years when you buy new one so in this case only 1 year battery warranty is left now. Need to think these factors too before buying 2016/17 used tesla car now.

    • @JettersGarage
      @JettersGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is true but it has all the self driving features and you can upgrade the head unit for $1000. Not a bad deal for free power. Also Tesla was offering 6 years free supercharging for people that trade their free supercharging car in on a newer model.

    Great stuff here. thanks! What about the pre-raven (pre 2019) mcu1 lagginess and the lack of suspension refinement that also came with the raven. Has that realistically been an issue at all for you or anyone?

      The suspension hasn't been an issue for me at all. You can update the MCU1 to mcu2 for $1,500 bucks currently. I don't mind the MCU1.

      @@JettersGarage yes but no. If someone sells his Tesla to dealer, it's not possible to see the owner's page from the original owner. If the dealer registered it under its dealers app, Tesla might take away the sc01. The only way to verify is to take it to supercharger and try. But it will only guarantee whether the car have SC05 or not. No other ways to veryify SC01.

    So I named mine ever like I thought the app said to do and I still have free super charging are you saying if I take my car to Tesla to have it worked on they will take free super charging away? That will totally remove any value of ownership it doesn’t get good mileage it gets two hours at 70mph it gets 130 miles to a charge and if you’re trying to charge at home it better be at 48 amps or it will take too long 50%at 16amps is 10 hours to refill

    • @JettersGarage

    Do you know if you buy a tesla with free supercharging as a 2nd owner, would Tesla offer me to transfer my FSC to a new tesla? Would I have to buy the same model as the current car I own? Or can it be any model?

    • @JettersGarage
      @JettersGarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They sometimes offer to transfer the supercharging but usually limit the timeframe to a number of years. They are currently not offering it but did earlier this year. When you removed the free supercharging on a car you own, even if you were the second or 3rd owner they would transfer it to your new car only for the time you own the new car. Meaning if you sell the car the free supercharging went away.

But I noticed when I go on the charging screen it just says please add a credit card. I think the old Owner reset the car or something. Does this mean the free supercharging is gone? The app needs to be transferred into your name from the last owner. If the app says free supercharging as features and specs when you transfer you are good to go.

  • @aluskysystems1129
    @aluskysystems1129 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, Who does the transfer in the app you as the new owner or the original owner? Secondly you mentioned you should make sure you used your real name in the app during transfer can you explain more please.

    • @JettersGarage
      @JettersGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      The current owner needs to transfer the app to your name. You need to make sure it is 100% correct or Tesla will need to recover account and you will need to show proof of transfer and ownership. Use a real persons name not the name of a dealership or company. Like John Smith, not Smith's auto account. Hope this is helpful.

  • @KevsChronicles
    @KevsChronicles ปีที่แล้ว +1

    My only concern is this…what is the expected life of the vehicle? What do they mean by “life of the vehicle”? Life of the batteries? If you get to the point of having to change the entire battery pack, will you lose the free supercharging after installation of a new battery pack? If the latest model you can get with free supercharging is 2017 and it’s 2023, how much longer are 2017 and earlier models expected to be on the road with their original batteries and in original configuration?

    • @JettersGarage
      @JettersGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I do not believe it is dependent on battery life. Meaning if you update the battery pack you should still have free supercharging. The free supercharging is assigned to the vehicle. If you have a bad part and replace it, motor or battery you still keep the free supercharging. I had one I replaced a motor on and did not affect the supercharger. Unless Tesla changes the rules, you can drive the thing for free until the wheels fall off. Haha

    Is it true that if you take one of these free supercharging Model S’s to a service center, they’re going to basically hold the car hostage telling you that they have to remove the free supercharging otherwise they won’t service the car?

    Nice video! Very clear. But I still want to ask you one question that really confuses me.
    If a Tesla has free supercharging for life and it is sold to an independent dealer by the original owner. The car has been registered under the dealer's name, but the dealer doesn't add the car into their Tesla account (which means the car is still in the original owner's account). In this case, will the free supercharging be transferred to me if I buy this car?

    • @JettersGarage
      @JettersGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's my understanding that it would. I would ask them to transfer to you for verification if you plan to purchase. Most all the dealers do not leave the app in the past owners name. They transfer it to a dealer email which is when I understand it gets removed.

  • @rodneysmith3253

    • @JettersGarage
      @JettersGarage  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You should be able to go to a Tesla shop and ask how to transfer. The last owner clearly never transferred the app. As long as it's a person to person transfer you should be okay is my understanding. You can ask them hypothetically first.😎 Let me know how it goes.

    What is mind boggling is the fact that the electrical grid is 33% efficient. You have to burn three gallons of fuel to deliver 1 gallons worth of energy on site. A gas powered car is 30+% efficient. A modern gas engine is far less polluting than a coal or oil power plant. Where is the upside? No one is proposing the tripling of the electrical grid to even make this disaster possible.

      That's because the electrical infrastructure is just starting so it's obvious that it will take more than it gives out at first, same when there was no gas cars and their infrastructure it took way way more than it would be beneficial but once it's all there then that's when it pays off.
