    Great stuff here. thanks! What about the pre-raven (pre 2019) mcu1 lagginess and the lack of suspension refinement that also came with the raven. Has that realistically been an issue at all for you or anyone?

      The suspension hasn't been an issue for me at all. You can update the MCU1 to mcu2 for $1,500 bucks currently. I don't mind the MCU1.

    I have a lightning. I used the 110v charger for months before I hooked up the 220v version, which came with the truck new. I also have the extended range version. I'd plug it in when I get home from work, I drive 80 miles round trip every day, and by the time I was ready to go to work in the morning, I'd always have a full charge. This is why I didn't hook up the 220v for about 8 months. I didn't have a need to charge that fast. However the new charger is quicker to charge, but it didn't make much of a difference from my day-to-day charging. Really, I don't need the 220v, the 110v version was plenty and I use the truck every day. I should note that I drive over a large mountain pass every day and it has saved me soooo much in fuel! Though the truck is expensive, the fuel savings is starting to overcome the cost of the price of the truck. It used to cost me about $80-100 a week for fuel in either of my old trucks. Today, the cost of charging my truck is about $35 per week. My house, however, is mostly solar powered and have a Tesla Wall house battery. I have actually hooked up the 220v charger to the Power Wall it charges the lighting in the evenings. So, in fact, I don't pay for anything to charge the truck because the power wall is not connected to the grid, only to my house.

    All that free supercharging available yet you haven't used it since June. Very few people realize one of the main perks of owning an EV is to plug it in at night and not have to ever worry about public charging.

  • @JasonInTampa
    @JasonInTampa 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    So you bought an electric truck, drove 7k miles, then wanted to get rid of it because: 1. Public charging isn't easy 2. It was expensive 3. And you aren't sure that it's capable of doing truck things because you didn't try. All while making videos of complaining about the use, just to turn around and say you might buy another one. Sounds like electric vehicles aren't for your lifestyle.

      What you listed appeared to be issues not related to the vehicle or its performance. The frustration with the app is 100% understandable. But the charging stations being small? Besides the App not working, which is understandable, the other issues sound like most issues a drivers have when moving to an EV, not this one specific. But this was YOUR experience and that's why I watched the video.

I use THAT app NOT Ford and NEVER have problems!! GO SOLAR AND CHARGE WHENEVER YOU WANT?? NO WORRIES ABOUT RATES!!! You're a unprepared pissy boy who shouldn't have bought a truck he's not ready for😢😢 OF COURSE YOU USE MORE JUICE GOING "UP THE MOUNTAIN"!! YOU USE MORE GAS GOING UP AS WELL!!😮 Charging stations are easily mapped out and only on occasion have i had failure to charge but I'm learning the network... Sell it n go back to $4.50/gas... I would have too much range anxiety. Governments are trying to get rid of natural gas to consumers for bs reasons. They’re planning on using the cheap natural gas to power electric plants for all the electric everything. It will end up hurting us all. We will not have a choice, be servants of the utility companies.

    I'm guessing you live in California. Because only Californians can acknowledge their mistakes but then double down on them. EVs are a scam. The most important thing about owning an EV is to not put too many miles on it so you can trade it back in for a gas vehicle.

    • @JettersGarage

  • @nonchalanto
    @nonchalanto หลายเดือนก่อน

    It’s crazy that you purchased this truck without doing even a little bit of research into setting up home charging (which did not require ford’s unit), looking at fast charging opportunities near you, etc. And for many people, it doesn’t make sense based on the options available to them. So they shouldn’t buy an EV. You just pulled the trigger without even thinking about those things? Crazy. I have an EV, and I installed a home charger before I took delivery. I have never once thought about where I need to “refuel”. It’s plugged in every night and never comes close to draining. For me, it’s way BETTER than a gas car. For others, it isn’t quite that simple. You should have figured this out before you spent 100k

    I own a tesla, my friend just got an F150 and your comments are SPOT ON. The app is terrible. I asked my friend to check how fast his truck was charging off my home charger and he had to go through the clunky app. The truck itself is nice and has some cool things like 110 and 240v plugs I would have liked on my tesla BUT the software/UI is no where near tesla. Heck the F150 lighting doesn't even record like dash cam off all its cameras?!?!?! you have to buy a seperate dash cam. its silly the oversight. Tesla designed their cars so much more thoughtfully from a software standpoint. with Ford access to some superchargers hopefully the charging issue gets to be a less of an issue. The other thing that should be mentioned as a negative is having to deal with the FORD DEALERSHIPS! we looked at an F150 as a 2nd vehicle but the dealer wanted to add on all these extra fees.... no thanks.
