I purchased a Kia Stinger GT based on Doug's review and ownership experience. In fact the first thing I did when I got the car is turned to my family, proudly flailed out my arms and yelled, "THISSSSSSS is a 2021 Kia Stinger, and in fact it's MY Kia Stinger."

Yeah, my parents rule is they only buy cars when they absolutely have to, the last time they bought a car was 5 years ago and it’s because the little civic they had wasn’t big enough for everyone in the family and the minivan was just about dead

Saying the KIA badge is a non-selling point is a reflection of concern for what others think. If only what interests YOU is what you care about, then it doesn’t matter.
I would actually enjoy having a luxurious sporty GT car with a Kia badge, because it makes the car cheaper and it is less flashy

A three year old Mercedes is ready for the junkyard the way they're made unless you buy a longer warranty or should I say service contract, they're not warranties, When I read the title I thought Doug was pulling a Scotty with his hokey clickbait titles, like I bought the new corvette which was a recent one or any number of his bye titles, I think he has at least two or three a week and the this car or that just changed the game, the changed the game titles are almost as numerous.

I've had my 2019 Kia Stinger (Base model) since it came out. It's been such an awesome experience, that after my 3 year lease ended, I decided to purchase it. At 40k miles, it still drives like its new, still is fun to whip around, and still looks great 4 years later. Kia as a brand has come such a long way and if you are considering a stinger (new or used), I highly recommend you get one. Great car.
I actually work in sales at a Kia dealership. Before I got the job, I (like many others) thought Kia was just Hyundai's cute lil brother that made the Soul. However, since I started working for Kia, I've absolutely fallen in love with the brand! It's not just the Stinger, the redesign of their flagship SUVs in the Sportage and Sorento combined with the introduction of the Telluride, and even their new, more compact vehicles like the Seltos and Niro have done a complete 180 for the brand. I'm a Ford guy for now, but I know I won't be for much longer. As soon as I have the money, I'm buying a Kia (likely a Stinger!)

I’ve had my rwd 2022 gt1 now for 4 months and it’s such a fun car. Handles great and feels faster than it is.
People come up to me weekly asking me about it. Who cares that it’s a Kia? It’s really a bmw rip off thats $15k less. Thanks, Kia!
Great review. Honest review. I own a 2020 GT Limited (Canada's version of the GT2). Listening to BMW drivers talk about their better performance (when they won't go head to head) is akin to Hemi owners who get great gas mileage until you drive with them. I would encourage everyone to take a Stinger for a drive. Don't tell your friends that you did. Just take it for an honest drive. I'd did. I could have easily bought a 440 with the M Sport Pack, but didn't want to. This is better.

i had a 6yr loan too i paid it off in 26months. and i still have it, having a almost brand new vehicle with its factory warranty still and all paid off is the best feeling ever. should just pay that loan off as fast as you can plus it saves you a ton of money paying it off early

Got my certified pre-owned 2019 Kia Stinger in the low $30k’s. Only had 14k miles on it and after 3k miles I got no major complaints.
Same I got 1 and everyone loves it I even see people taking pictures of it
How rational is what Doug is telling us. Expensive car should be like a investment and in this case it's better to not decease its value by using it on the daily basis.

Paid less than $40K OTD and I've been pretty happy either keeping up with or beating other cars that are $20K - $30K more. Currently at around 460 HP and 520 lb-ft of torque.
just sold my Audi A5 Sportback to buy Stinger GT2. I am really impressed, rides much better than A5.

I probably bought the cheapest Stinger in my region (for now). It's a GT, given, but I got it for 29,500 CPO, AWD with 12k miles.
Something which I remember from Top Gear when Clarkson and May were making a commercial for the VW Scirocco. The guy who they were working with whose profession is to make commercials said "instead of saying it's a great car but they ruined it by putting a diesel, you should rather say they improve the diesel by putting it in a Scirocco". This is the attitude we should have towards this car. We should be saying they improved Kia by making this car and not they ruined a great car by putting a Kia badge.
A month ago I almost bought the Stinger but went with another older cheaper option to save money. Really making me regret it, but thankfully I don’t expect to keep my car for over a two years so let’s see what Kia does with it. If not, pull a Doug and get a 2020 in a few years. Until then, I think people will learn to appreciate Kia and the Stinger more.

I suspect the Kia Stinger is doing okay in Australia, as it's been released just as the rear-drive Holden Commodore was discontinued and this slotted directly into its spot in the market. I really hope they don't discontinue it
You were correct about its value on the usedmarket. A month ago I bought a 2018 Stinger Premium with 20K miles for $26K. My local dealer flipped at the great deal I got on it.

I just picked up a ceramic silver Scorpion Edition and it is amazing - with the 2022 updates, the rest of the issues is quibbling over levels of perfection. :)
I got the same one and I couldn't agree more! I have a 1994 Lotus Esprit and the Stinger is better handling and performing. Considering that the Lotus still holds up to most of today's sports cars in regards to performance and handling than that makes the Kia one hell of a sports sedan. It puts a smile on my face every time that I drive it.

I went to Ikea, hundreds of cars in the parking lot, and the one red Stinger parked behind me. No car in that parking lot that I could see came close to its looks. There were BMWs and Audis all kinds.

Nice! I actually have the same car except for a 2019 model and Rear Wheel Drive. My boss couldn't believe it was a Kia when I told him what it was. Last week at work when he saw me getting out of it, he said, "Sweet Kia man", immediately followed by, "I thought I'd never say those two words together"

Salesmen work on soccer moms only. Every dude would do a ton of research, cross examine every single car in that category and make up their mind before setting a foot in the dealership. Or going to many dealerships just to check the final price, compare, and go back again.

I love my 21’ GT AWD - I’ve modded it and it made me start an actual channel - I’ve had a lot of sick cars too.. last 3 were Lexus and by far the Stinger GT is hands down the best

Just bought a 2022 Stinger GT Elite, and bang for buck this outdoes other cars like Audi BMW and Mercedes at its price range. Will be keeping it until it falls apart and also doing my own work on it; waited till 2022 for the release if the Elite as it has all the stuff Doug said the 2018 was missing. Loving this underrated beast! "Its a Kia" isnt a drawback at all. Its more of an embarassment to the guy you leave in the rear view knowing he "lost to a Kia" 😂

I sell Mitsubishi’s and I sold a lady with a Lexus who was cross shopping with Lexus. She was between the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SEL vs the Lexus RX350 and I got her to take the Mitsu lmao. It was mostly an economical decision considering a fully loaded Cross is almost half the cost of the Lexus lol.
Lol, I actually traded my merc for a 2019 stinger and haven't regretted it one bit.

Been a while since Doug's talked about a car's bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranty.
Got a 2018 GT2 in March of ‘19 for $36K brand new. I found a glitch in the KIA leasing arrangements.
KIA was giving lease cash to buy down the monthly payments for peoples leases on remaining 2018 stock (lesser amounts the longer your lease term). Not unusual for a car company to do that. I did the best bonus which was for a 2-yr lease at $10,000 and then negotiated the other $6,500 off sticker. A month later I paid cash for the car and KIA Financial doesn’t charge for the interest that would’ve been made during the lease term had I fulfilled it. To top that off they had 0% in fees to buy or pay off early, and the $10,000 bonus was all mine and didn’t need to be paid back.
Don’t know if things have changed in their lease contracts, but look into it because keeping the bonus with 0% interest recovered on the lease is ridiculous.

I love my Stinger and when I went shopping the Kia badge was a plus and not a minus for me. I like the relative anonymity this car brings. Most enthusiasts know what this car is capable. In Canada they were a hell of a deal too (similar pricing to a relatively basic 330i or C Class) and the engineers tuned the car really well. The handling is confidence inspiring but without a punishing ride. With winter tires and all wheel drive, this car is easily the best car I have driven in the snow.
The practicality of the hatch should not be underestimated. My fiancee works at a Permanent Supportive Housing building and we get coffee supplies for her tenants. When we go to Costco it raises eyebrows when we load flatbeds of coffee, creamer and sugar into the hatch. Almost fit a BBQ in there too but the ceiling was a couple of inches too low.

J m176 I haven’t driven a Charger GT but I have rented a normal Charger before. Based on the rental experience I think the Charger feels a lot bigger and less nimble. The steering for the Stinger feels much though this is really comparing apples to oranges since the GT probably has summer tires where as my rental does not. I picked the Stinger because I wanted AWD and more practicality. In Canada, any Charger with the v8 is also more expensive.

Slap a bmw badge on it and people go crazy about it. Its amazing value for the money. Who gives a fuck about the brand anyway exceptnkids who dont appreciate when a company does good
We test drove it and thought it was really boring since we prefer lightweight cars - BUT I was really impressed at the power and how well made the car is. It has sooo much features and comfortable. The car is really amazing for the price (even when it was expensive) and I can see how good it will be as a daily.

Sure the interior quality is great but all the electronics are shite as hell. There are BMW people that were actually protesting in front of their factory, that's how bad it got.
@@oinkoink2843 Certainly entitled to your opinion and our standards could be different and that's ok. However, as the owner of a 2018 GT2 the quality inside the car is far from bad. The materials feel great, are comfortable, and have nice features like cooled seats, heated steering wheel, memory seats and steering wheel that are not a standard on many cars (to be fair, cooled seats aren't standard on a stinger either).
Also, while i understand the comparison to Mercedes or BMV, you cant really compare the price. When you compare the specs and available technology for what you get in a Kia you would be spending much more if both purchased new. Doug said in his original video a similar car with a more prestigious logo would start with a "7" and i have found that to be accurate as well. This is especially true if you aren't buying the newest model year as these cars can be had from anywhere between 35k and 42k with the top end being 2019 models. The comfort and performance you get out of these cars if you aren't trying to have a 700-800 car payment or keep up with the joneses is awesome.
