It isn't much smaller than the 24 Ultra (the thin clock line being the only difference in size), and has rounded corners. Was surprised that the 24's are quite a bit thinner in feel over the 23's. One thing I like about my s21 is that it's quite a bit thinner than the s22 and s23 base models and plus models are. It seems like they've gotten back to a thinner feel on the s24 base and plus models. Big win! To be honest, I do feel the 24 Ultra's screen has lost a bit of pop and dimensionality compared to the 23 Ultra. The 24 isn't bad, but I didn't feel wow'd by it, either. Actually, I was surprised that the colors didn't really stand out like I remember the s23 Ultra doing in the stores. I might pick up a used 23 Ultra and save $500. Nice phones, but for the money, a used 23 someone is dumping for a 24 will be a bargain. I run the s21 and still don't see a need to upgrade. The base 24 and plus here are Exynos. I did feel some warmth on the base 24 model, but not the 24+
I was debating myself to get S23 or Iphone 15, after using S10 E for 5 years. Now, I am considering to get S24, comparing to Iphone, Samsung is far better in functionality. S24 is gonna get Seven years of security update thats a huge plus, compared to the older Samsung phones usually get four years. Thanks for your review.
Wow...is $800 or £800 is a fraction of the price!!! Lower price yes Not fraction, this can be misleading the public. Phone companies had been Increasing prices incrementally ever since with no apparent end to it!!
Just upgraded my S10e to the S24. I'm in the little hands club and the S24 naked is about the size of my S10e with a case on so the size increase is manageable. Also looking forward to the better battery and 7 years of updates because my S10e still has plenty left in the tank if it wasn't for the battery.
Being a tech kinda guy, I can't compromise for a 1080p display. Being on 1440p so long anything less makes it feel cheap to me. But that's just me. Glad the plus model got the 1440p this time, and with the new design, it's a W for me.
i wished that they would have made the s24 just a minimal bit bigger maby 6.3 inches and a bit wider because it looks kind of narrow. also that they moved the fash down makes the phone look way cheaper in my oppinon because this was first introduced by their midrange buget phones and this makes it feel a little less premium. but overall its the phone im most hyped about and im not disappointed at all
@@sonny79d i have an a 52 and the size is just too big for a confortable use i would prefer a 6.4inch more. also the weight is not so nice in the pockets but the standart is a little bit to small and too narrow. its really difficult
Once again, the smaller model does not get ultra-wide band support. Only the Ultra and Plus models get it. I want precision finding on the smaller model for my smart tag 2. I applaud Apple for giving UWB support to their pro and non-pro models.
The quality of a good 1080 screen can be better than many higher resolution screens I’d take a smaller size and a 1080p screen any day… as long as it can last all day of course
Thank you so much for this first look. This is the phone I'm buying (based on price and overall performance). Looking forward to a complete review with camera test. Thanks again.

Upgrading from an S10 to a 256 GB S24. Love the size. Don't want anything bigger. Also I keep my phones for years. Before the S10 I was using an S6 Edge. Only upgrading my S10 because the charger port no longer works. I charge wirelessly but I can no longer connect my drones to the phone so an upgrade was necessary. With 7 years of updates I should be good for a long time, assuming the charger port doesn't crap out on me!
@@Willz_abc123 Are these chips really efficient? I plan to upgrade from my Note 20 to S24. Im a little concerned since my note has 4300 mah battery and S24 has 4000 (also this phone had a bloated battery as well)

I haven't made up my mind yet. But I already decided that if I'm going to get any of these three choices, it'll be the S24 Plus. For once, it's closer to the S24 Ultra than the vanilla model.
@@Daniel-dj7fh Because first, I can't afford to pay the absurdly high price of the Ultra, even with a trade-in. Second, I don't need the S-Pen. Third, 3X optical zoom is plenty for me. If for some reason I need more, 30X zoom is more than enough for me. And lastly, aside from those previously mentioned features, the Plus shares all other features with the Ultra from the QuadHD+ display to the 12 gigs of RAM to the 256GB of starting storage. That's why I say that the S24 Plus, this year, is closer to its Ultra variant unlike in the past when it was closer to the vanilla variant.
I was hoping we would get a 512GB variant, but it still seems like a solid option! Especially if it still has Dex. Could be what I switch to from S20 FE
Same, Sucks they removed the SD card slot. it really would be cool to have over 1TB on an S24. Have the S23, but it only goes up 256GB. My S20 has over 600GB With the Internal storage and a 512GB SD card.

2:18 Well it depends where and who you ask. Some prefer flat, some curved screen. I feel its kinda 50/50. And you said that "S24 Ultra doesnt look like cheaper version." I strongly disagree. How many cheaper and mid range phones you see with flat screen compared to curved screen? For my eyes S24 Utlra looks noticeable "cheaper" compared S23 Ultra with nice and curved screen. Feels like by looking screen S24 Ultra is "budget or cut down Ultra". And add to that I think curved screen helps using side navigation swipes compared to flat screen. More comfortable to use.

Phone companies had been
Increasing prices incrementally ever since with no apparent end to it!!
Just hope they don’t make it any bigger. I want a small phone with good camera and battery that can put in the pocket without thinking it.
The S23 is just that!
you are forgetting the subpar battery@@ahmedakhan_3804
They're still 750€ over here smh.... and my a50 is not dying@@ahmedakhan_3804
Watching this on my Galaxy S24 ❤
Finally someone talking about the S24. So many videos I've gotten recommended about the S24 Ultra
That probably because the Ultra is the best Galaxy phone
not long ago the s9+ was the large phone. it was also 6.2 inches.
When everyone went for MKBHD.. I came for Mike because Mike never disappoints 😀
Why not both?
I went to both
This just made my day! Thank you for trusting me 😁
@@MikeOBrienMedia is the zoom any better on the regular s24 than the s23? I'm thinking of down grading from the s23 ultra to the small s24.
@@johnm6275 why not trade in your s23 ultra for s24 ultra?
Just upgraded my S10e to the S24. I'm in the little hands club and the S24 naked is about the size of my S10e with a case on so the size increase is manageable. Also looking forward to the better battery and 7 years of updates because my S10e still has plenty left in the tank if it wasn't for the battery.
Looking forward to a Pixel 8 vs s24 battery comparison Mike!
Oh, this one is easy. S24 hands down.
Being a tech kinda guy, I can't compromise for a 1080p display. Being on 1440p so long anything less makes it feel cheap to me. But that's just me. Glad the plus model got the 1440p this time, and with the new design, it's a W for me.
Do you even really notice the difference at such a small screen size?
i wished that they would have made the s24 just a minimal bit bigger maby 6.3 inches and a bit wider because it looks kind of narrow. also that they moved the fash down makes the phone look way cheaper in my oppinon because this was first introduced by their midrange buget phones and this makes it feel a little less premium. but overall its the phone im most hyped about and im not disappointed at all
The s10 series had the perfect aspect ratio.
Why not just go get the plus then
@@sonny79d i have an a 52 and the size is just too big for a confortable use i would prefer a 6.4inch more. also the weight is not so nice in the pockets but the standart is a little bit to small and too narrow. its really difficult
Once again, the smaller model does not get ultra-wide band support. Only the Ultra and Plus models get it. I want precision finding on the smaller model for my smart tag 2. I applaud Apple for giving UWB support to their pro and non-pro models.
The quality of a good 1080 screen can be better than many higher resolution screens
I’d take a smaller size and a 1080p screen any day… as long as it can last all day of course
Everyone keeps mentioning AWT88K. What is that?
Comfortably using a phone one-handedly matters a lot to me. I'd pick the S24 over the others from the series.
Same, that's why I'm also hard considering the Zenfone10 or maybe the 11 when it comes out.
Will the battery last 7 years?
No lol
Thank you so much for this first look. This is the phone I'm buying (based on price and overall performance). Looking forward to a complete review with camera test. Thanks again.
I was thinking about a flip 5 because I'm old and used one growing up. I now think I will go with this. I really only use it for calls, basic pictures and texting. My biggest question for you is are Gene jackets making a come back? I had one when I was 15, 54 now.
3:04 something that worries me is that you pressed the home button once and it didn't do anything, but only after you pressed it several times and then it went :/
Don't know why Samsung launched S24/S24+ in Exynos processor in India. Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 could have been a much better option.
Doesnt it have exynox chip in there for UK? How bad it us compared to snapdragon or is it not even noticable?
Almost no differnce🥰
@@Willz_abc123 Are these chips really efficient? I plan to upgrade from my Note 20 to S24. Im a little concerned since my note has 4300 mah battery and S24 has 4000 (also this phone had a bloated battery as well)
exynos is piece of shit, overheating, shit battery, worse camera, go for snapdragon s23 series
@@aleksa5368Totally agree
I wish that I didn’t need the iPhone for vlogging cause I really miss being on Samsung Devices and One UI
Why is iPhone necessarry for vlogging?
@@iwzm5817 I tried vlogging with my Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 and it’s just not as good or reliable. I’ve done several videos showing how the cameras stutter and don’t record as nice looking video as my iPhone. I also found it almost impossible to keep a stable connection between my Mac and a Samsung phone. Not sure if Apple is the cause or Samsung but I always had trouble getting the videos into my MacBook to edit my vlog
Is this phone dual SIM in the USA? I want to use two lines at the same time with this phone.
I haven't made up my mind yet. But I already decided that if I'm going to get any of these three choices, it'll be the S24 Plus. For once, it's closer to the S24 Ultra than the vanilla model.
Other than the size what how else is it closer? And if you want the ultra, why not just get the ultra not not the plus to be a wannabe ultra
Price wise they don't differ that much no?@@kevinphoenix2007
If you can't afford the ultra, do the sensible thing and get the regular S24. Not worth spending an extra £200 for the +@@kevinphoenix2007
@@Daniel-dj7fh Screen size, QHD, brightness, memory, ram, battery capacity, ... and: cheaper!
The whole 24 like especially the ultra is gorgeous. I'm having trouble deciding if I want another fold or the 24 Ultra
They have a 512GB S24 variant on the Hong Kong Samsung store.
They don't offer this so that you pay more for the 256Gb variant or pay double for a 1tb s24u@@njs5614

That an IPhone.. from a design it really looks like an iPhone
It's me, or the regular S24 has more bezels than the S24+?
Will it have the picture face swap feature that pixel 8 has?
"little phone". Smh! But propls to this guy for being the only one who reviewed the original S24. I get so tired of these guys only reviewing the Ultra. Not everyone wants that gigantic phone! Just wish he would've shown the phone more
Samsung s4 was way ahead of time
2:18 Well it depends where and who you ask.
You should please compare the s22 vs the s23 vs the s24. That would be awesome
same phones different names. I still have s21 cause it's not worth upgrading
@MalikAbdulAziz88 not really. Phones dont have major upgrades anymore. Theyve upgraded stuff gradually but not significantly 😊
Does it have a sim card slot and which sim card is best to get or does it come with a sim card?
Sad part is that samsung s24 is present with exynos chip in india😢..so thought to get s23
Can't we buy US model in such case? Will it work?
@@shreyathale8562 u can . ,but may be the price will increase. If u will order it from diff. Country....so if u do not have any money problem ...u can buy..
I had to take mine back. It was dropping calls and was losing signal all over the place. People I was talking to were also complaining that the quality of the calls was bad. I believe it’s something to do with the poor processor. I have the S24 Ultra now and couldn’t be happier.
Remember when the biggest phone had 6 inches screen and 4,000 size battery🔋 thing change so quickly 😅
I couldn't find the review video you mention in this video. I only saw one for the ultra.
When everyone is focusing on the Ultra, I'm here for the base S24.
Are you holding an S23 at the end of the video at 9:32 ? The purple looks like the S23 lavender color in this shot
No. You can differentiate it by the position of the flash in the back. S23 flash is positioned at the centre of the top camera, S24 is lower.
@@Tlmuana good call didn't realize that about the flash, but actually it is an s23 in that part I just zoomed in and could see the flash at the top camera. Just to be clear I was talking about the part where he mistakenly calls it an s23 while he's holding it at the desk not the close up of the phone right after haha
Really appreciate you for making separate video for each model
You are demonstrating the AI features on the Ultra model... does it not have these features on the regular smaller S24 ?
Thank god there is someone who makes video on regular model. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My S24 regular makes noise when I shake is lightly. like the rear cameras are loose. is that the case for your phones as well.
That's normal
Simple and straightforward review. Thank you
Is the display LTPO?
Yup, all s24 models can go down to 1 hz
Hmm. My region will be receiving the Exynos 2400 chip. Just need to see the power efficiency and the battery endurance of the Exynos model in day-to-day tasks.

Did they change the front glass? It looks less glare-y.

So 512gb storage only available for the exclusive pre order on their website?
Finally a review on the s24 👍
Will this have a expandable memory?
Watching this on my S23.
battery life?
Exynos in Europe once again… s20 was bullshit with exynos, so was s21 and 22, battery sucks on those phones, s23 was perfection, why exynos again? Ffs
Does they come with expanding memory slot?
No, unfortunately. The last Samsung flagship with an sd card slot was my s10
@speedracer2please I have currently S20+5G. Unfortunately it started to loose reception at times. Even in box stores I was unable to find connection. I'm looking forward for an upgrade. Thank you for review
unfortunately in India, they launched it with traxynos, considering that...i think s23 would be a better choice for most.
Completely agree. This is why I'm not changing my s23. Shitsynos is not my choice.
You can buy us version in third party markets but it will cost more and you will miss the discount in your own country.
Does the s23 and s24 still have the camera blurred issue?
watching this on my galaxy s20+ , its still rocking
Keep it as long as you can I miss my expanding storage. Now I have to transfer files into an external SD card or hard drive
S22 now I skipped the s21 now ordered the s24 so we will see. Also skipped the s23
I also honestly think the 64 mp camera on the s20 was better than the 50mp s22 currently uses.
@@mikecarr1484 128gb storage is sufficient, I am coming from galaxy s7 edge which I kept for 5 years. No plans to change this one for 7 years.

S20 is a great phone. More upscale one with higher screen resolution and longer battery life than 21 and 22.
The flat bezels is the one iPhone thing that I'm really happy that Samsung has moved with. Im not an iPhone fan by any means but I had an iPhone for a work phone at one point and the flat edges were very comfortable and it gave you more of an illusion of safety grip when holding it.
if you live anywhere except US and China Don't buy S24 and S24+, it will come with Exynos chip which is bad.
Not as good does not equal bad
Hi are you able to see a small square near the finger print sensor? It is only visbile under heavy light and tilt angle when phone is locked ..is this normal?
