I REALLY appreciate this S24 review! Not everyone needs or can afford the Ultra. I am not a fan of ginormous phones so this was a great breath of fresh air to see a review on something that wasn't the biggest and baddest of the bunch. Thanks TED!
True that. I used to have the S21 Ultra previously and once I started with the S24 a few days ago, I felt like I wasted 3 years lugging extra grams and stretching my fingers, thumb and pant pockets for the Ultra version. I dont do gaming and dont watch video content on the phone. For better photographs I have a mirrorless.
+ personally, I prefer smaller phones (not tiny thou) to the bigger ones 6,2 is enough for me to watch content with ease and one-hand usage is much easier than 6,7+
Only Samsung and Apple are big enough to have a proper ecosystem. As far as Android phones (and android ecosystem), I'd pick the Asus Zenfone over the S24. But each to our own (I currently have a Samsung)..
As a long time iPhone user, I recently ordered the Samsung S24+ and I must say, I am not disappointed with my decision. It has a superior display compared to my iPhone and maybe is just me… but, is even faster and way more customizable … Samsung really has done an excellent job with their latest device. 😊
Thank you for your review, I also did an in-depth review of the S24 after using it for almost 2 weeks and no regrets! Feel free to check it out. Exynos did a pretty good job this year.
I ordered my S24 Plus in orange too. To me is the exclusive color that will definitely never let the S24 be confused with older models. I is different but not odd and is not shiny like trying to scream "look at me".
I have the S24 - I went back and forth for around 2 weeks choosing between the S24 and S24+. As a pretty "standard" user who principally uses a phone as well... a phone? I'm so glad I decided on the S24. It's portability and savings outweigh the extras for me. With an otterbox defender, the size is just perfect.

I have a really hard time with holding any of those chonky phones that are all that the reviewers are talking about. I was so excited when I heard about you talking about the S24. I got the S24 just last week and I am loving it so far. I have really small child sized hands so I need a small phone. The S24 fits perfectly in my hand and the performance and features included are amazing. I upgraded from the S21 and am very pleased with the improvements made. It's even just a bit smaller than my old S21! I'm still getting use to the new gestures and text features, but that is to be expected considering all of the software differences between the S21 and S24. I've always loved compact performance tech and Samsung really knocked it out of the park this year.
Everything you said, plus the S24 is a phone with just monster performance that fits comfortably (and I mean comfortably) in the fron pocket of my Levis. And that's with a Speckk Presidio case on it. I updated from a S22 regular which I liked a lot and was no slouch across features, and with the S24 I notice a distinct improvement in color quality, connectivity, and overall performance; everything just seems to run faster (I have the Snapdragon version). With the trade-in for my S22, this phone cost me $200 US. I'm just a consumer, not a content creator, and this phone in all aspects is a perfect fit for my needs
i bought the regular S24 marble grey as my secondary device as i use my 14pm as daily and i don't regret my decision, it's a solid upgrade from my previous s10 plus and the battery is decent along with the powerchip. One-hand usability is a cherry on top. It's a win win for me!

I just ordered an S24. I currently an Apple guy but I am so bored with my iPhone - love your review thanks for helping me make a decision to try (again) to switch to android
I got the marble grey and fell in love with the metal like color and doesn't show the grease and fingerprints like some of the darker colors. I give the s24 5/5 great phone even for it just being the base model.
I went from the s22 ultra to s24 regular, I must say I'm truly impressed on how good it is, the performance is awesome easy to handle one handed and extremely bright for outside use, I don't miss the pen at all
I have been using a iPhone 13 for the past year and a half after using a galaxy S9 and S21 for the previous 4 years before that. I purchased the S24 256 mb and am not impressed with the responsiveness to say the least. Most notably when typing. I just don’t remember it lacking as much before. Today is my last day to return the phone but I’m sure I will end up keeping it and alternating with my 13.
Now, I can say that I'm watching this video from a S24. I purchased it last week and it got delivered like 3 days ago and I can tell it has been a good experience but I need to test it more.
Well, I can't really tell. I keep it with the case on, and when I don't, it doesn't feel like it's hitting me with its sides. Other than that, it’s a compact phone and easy to carry anywhere.
I just found this channel and I dig it a lot. One thing I saw from GSM arena is that the call time for the S24 is drastically less than the S23. Have you noticed that after two weeks? GSM says the S24 is around 23 hrs and half, and the S23 has 30 hrs and half. What is running in the background that causes this? I suspect the new AI features but I don't have the phone to dig into that.
I think this also depends a lot on what apps are installed on the phone. Some apps keep running in the background and drain the battery. I once had that problem on my s21+. It was suddenly draining battery very quickly. Then I realized I installed a new app and when I deleted it, it went back to normal. I don't remember what the app was, but certain apps can really drain the battery running in the background.
I'm going to this soon and trade in my A54. It's not horrible phone but unfortunately it's been laggy, the 6GB ram can get clogged alot, and I just miss the snappyness of flagships, and especially it being more compact is huge. I run all the time and I find my a54 just swapping in my hands being very annoying. I can't wait to upgrade soon. This is the only time this phone is being worth even $200 trade in.
I use the Galaxy S23 and it's 95% as capable as this s24. This phone is a lot of hardware for the money, compared to the plus version as well as the Ultra. Personally, I do not like big phones, despite not having small hands.
Thanx for the video, problem is that Samsung in South Africa doesn't trade in my current S22...They only trade in the S23 upwards...no reason why...guess I will not be upgrading
I upgraded from an s22 which was absolute garbage, and the upgrade was great, better soc and everything leads to better battery and perfomance, so far this phone has been a 10/10 for me. The battery is insane
@@adinh6342look up Tom's Guide's battery test. It's pretty wild how much the battery improved this gen from last. And when you compare it to the S21, it's not even in the same league.
@@adinh6342 yes it is amazing, I do have a few tricks for battery saving, I have a few routines setup to enable location when I enter them and then disable when I exit them. There is an app called good guardians as well that really helped out with the battery and it feels weird not having to charge a phone midday
Good phone but really didn't liked how some regions are getting Exynos version. Its like they just wanna force us to buy ultra if we want snapdragon. I checked the reviews and Exynos this time is better than previous versions but it is what it is not being a snapdragon. I am pretty sure once their Exynos one have decent sales they will relaunch the s24 with snapdragon with higher price at first. In the end its all about making money rather than being consumer friendly. Really wanted to buy s24 but i will stay with my pixel for now
I’m currently still on my iPhone 11. I’ve been using Apple products up until now but am just dissatisfied with what they offer for the price. And I really like the new S24. I actually think this will be my next phone.
It may be my number one choice currently since I've had enough with big screens using the same one for almost 4 or 5 years. If I'm getting it I know I'm gonna be holding onto it until 2031 or smth like that
'Easy to hold when running'...such an overlooked advantage! I have found when running with the S21fe that the smart unlock function 'Stay unlocked when on body' doesn't really work well if at all. So if I want to check on my stopwatch while running I have to unlock my phone which is super annoying! Have you had any issues with this function when using the S24 please?
I got my S24+ Cobalt Violet, a big leap from my previous Galaxy A71. I'm so satisfied. I just noticed one irregularity because everytime I use my FB messenger during long video calls, theres a thin white line appearing on the screen and the image is saturated. Else is fantastic. PS the channel owner removes my reply twice, probably because he's hiding something/protecting the brand? Sneaky... thumbs down to this channel 👎👎👎
@@sauss4472 in terms of performance (120hz refresh rate, QHD screen resolution, high quality camera for photo and video), features (galaxy AI is impressive especially , circle to search is so handy for me) and quality (water proof, good grip, stylish and looks and feels premium) you can never go wrong with S24+. The only thing I noticed is when I use FB messenger to during video calls, there is a white line on the screen and the image is saturated, Im not sure if it is bec of the app itself or because of the mobile. Aside from that, all else was great! That's my honest review.
@BLAKEEATS1988 I got it on my phone. Installed perfectly without any issus. I like the feeling of mate protectors but it makes the display extremely grainy. I don't know why you don't like the official one. Installation is quite straight forward if you take your time.
@@Lucarinho I put them side by side and it increases the glare by at least 10% so I went with the matte display it's like looking at a pc monitor but I don't mind coz I can put it under the lamp and it literally shrugged it off like nothing.
Picked up the Gray and it's pretty sweet. Paired it with the Taupe Leather case. It's been a minute since I used Samsung so I have to adjust to One UI. I'm used to iOS now. Iyt's a second phone and I like the 7 years of updates. Cameras are quite nice.
I own the S24 Ultra while my wife owns the regular S24. The only real tangible differences between the two are that the S24 Ultra has a bigger screen, a marginally better camera, more storage, and the inclusion of the S-Pen. Sure the S24 Ultra also has 4GB more memory and a bigger battery, but you wouldn't know it when compared to the regular S24 as performance is basically identical. Only in a few type of scenarios would you even notice the extra memory or bigger battery of the S24 Ultra. The regular S24 is definitely the better "bang for buck" when compared to the S24 Ultra since both phones are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and run on One Ui 6.1 with Galaxy AI offering almost all the same functionality while being significantly cheaper. However, if you want that huge screen, 200mp main camera with 5x telephoto lens, and the S-pen, you're going to have to pay that flagship tax.
anyone know if an unlocked galaxy s24 will work on at&t? at&t has been very strict on which phones are allowed on their network lately. they cut off service on my sony xperia saying "it's not 5g compatible" when it was working flawlessly for an entire year 🤦
Just ordered the s24 last night. They ran out of the blue though in 256G. :( went silver. Just couldn't get my head around the green, orange or violet. And black is boring. Not that silver is all that much better, but that's what was left for me.
1) Does it have a quick shooter(i.e., capture pictures of moving subjects mostly blurry free)? 2) Is the battery life any good? 3) How does it measure up to the global variant of the Xiaomi 14?
I am using S20 12GB Ram variant. That is still fast, not sloppy at all. But, still I wanted to upgrade and I ordered S24. Lets see how the new 8GB Ram does. No one is talking about such less Ram. My RAM remains occupied about 6-7GB for the S20. Do you think will it be a good move for me or not?
Could you please provide confirm if the 1st lens from the top seems to be have a moving black part of camera array when you turn the phone side to side?
I returned my S24 and still using my S9. The screen being so much less saturated was a big disappointment. There are also not a lot of good case options on the market since I like my phone to be fully cased. Also, the "aux" through the USB-C volume is terribly low when I plug it into my car. Doesn't feel like an upgrade. PS: Samsung only gives you 15 days to return the phone, so you either like it or return it, otherwise it's not worth it.
OK that orange color is really growing on me. Like, I'm willing to trade in my Flip 5 for the s24 just for orange unless the Flip 6 comes out in orange. Forget mint, forget green, I'll take the orange. Tastes so good.
Would anyone recommend making the switch? I’ve had the iPhone 11 since launch and there are moments where at 15% it randomly shuts off. I mainly just use my phone for FT calls, music, watching my shows. I own a MacBook and an iPad as well but I don’t find myself using airdrop or any Apple ecosystem features that often. I find the 7 year longevity promised appealing and I can already imagine the new base iPhone 16 being lackluster.
I have the s24 and iPhone 15. In my honest opinion, there's too many little things Apple has that makes it hard to love the S24 even though I really wanted to. Just my opinion tho, doesn't mean it's a bad phone bc it's not.
I got the S24 Plus 512GB and i think the plus has the best value it has now a QHD+ (3120x1440) wich gives it the highest ppi 513 in the s24 series. It has a 6.7 inch display and a 4900mah battery so for me its the best value of all the models S24 Ultra included!
It's nice to see everyone starting to see the value that was packed into this 24 lineup It's insane we got everyone fighting over which ones better love to see it.
Im coming from an s10 so a lot of this sounds great especially the bigger battery and the 7 year support. I ended up getting the orange, wishing it was more of a burnt orange honestly
i had mine for a week now. All inn all am happy. I am abit sad it dosent have the snapdragon prosessor. But multicore, and raytrace its abit better. But it throttles on long benchmarks. And it uses ALOT of battery when gaming.
You'll be able to buy a Flip 5 in mint condition on the 2nd hand market for about 300 bucks whenever the flip6 comes out like seriously check out the flip4 you'll see .
I switched from S22 Ultra to S24 (regular, not ultra) and oh boy I was in for a surprise. the screen, the camera and the fingerprint sensor gave ma a headache. So I returned it and got myself S23 Ultra. I wanted to switch to a smaller phone but no luck this time.
@@nccapone344 Screen gave me a feeling of a lcd screen, very desaturated. Fingerprint scanner unlocked phone mostly from second or third time. Camera was the breaking point for me. Photos looked like they came from a phone that cost 200 euro and not 750 euro. Maybe I'm just spoiled with the Ultra models, but this phone doesn't worth the money. Only good thing is dimensions and design, the rest is average at best!
@saavaa Yeah, Maybe you're right once your in that Ultra zone its hard to go back down to the other samsung versions for sure! Appreciate the feedback 🙏 👌 👍 I'll figure out a phone 📱 sometime this year!!! Need to upgrade from the Samsung S20+ 5G 4 years has done me very well no complaints here! 😎
I also got the orange one, mainly because I think the copper/golden trim around the lenses will contrast nicely with a black cover. For the Screen: I'll slap Samsung's Anti-Glare screen protector on it and see how it goes, supposedly as good as the Ultra. Sadly we got the Exynos so I expect more battery drain. F Samsung in that regard.
There's been 2 major apps offering this on Apple and Android for 10 yrs....😂😂😂😂 I'm sure they still exist not sure as don't care. Using phone as a tool for pc is neat but only at work would I ever do it.
80% of battery capacity definitely wont last power users all day on a mobile network. Should be fine for people who do not have a lot of screen on time and are on wifi. The phone looks sleek, though Miss these smaller footprint phones at times.
@The Everyday Dad You should specifically say about what version of the phone you have. EU or USA, because EU version is trash and don't cost it's money, build quality is terrible, that's my experience. Also CPU is different and -18% slower.
The 24+ is probably the sweet spot. Edit: the Galaxy S24+ has basically the same battery life as the ultra. Yes, the Ultra has a little bit bigger battery, it's not that important.
What are your thoughts on the 8gb RAM and longevity? Love the size but the 12gb Ram on the S24 plus is making me indecisive lol. how did the batteries compare?

@@20927506 the phone is comfortable to use. I have a case on mine and it's still one-handable
Thanx for the video, problem is that Samsung in South Africa doesn't trade in my current S22...They only trade in the S23 upwards...no reason why...guess I will not be upgrading
Trade in you will get R10K in trade in value vale till 31/03/24
Switched from an iPhone 14 Pro Max. Love this phone.
I upgraded from an s22 which was absolute garbage, and the upgrade was great, better soc and everything leads to better battery and perfomance, so far this phone has been a 10/10 for me. The battery is insane
Is the battery really that good? I have the S21 and I charge it at work because I use it so much.
I can't even lie, Samsung put out a solid phone
Good phone but really didn't liked how some regions are getting Exynos version. Its like they just wanna force us to buy ultra if we want snapdragon. I checked the reviews and Exynos this time is better than previous versions but it is what it is not being a snapdragon. I am pretty sure once their Exynos one have decent sales they will relaunch the s24 with snapdragon with higher price at first.
In the end its all about making money rather than being consumer friendly.
Really wanted to buy s24 but i will stay with my pixel for now
Got a S24 and Pixel 8 and have to say the S24 is the one
Hey i just wanna know , is the phone comfortable to use ?? some Youtber says that the sides dig into his hands. is that true ?
Well I have the base S24 and I don't notice any problem or discomfort from holding it, but I've heard that about the Ultra with the hard corners
Does anyone have grainy screen issue in s24
Love my s24, small phones are comfy.
I bought the same phone in India, but it was shipped with the exynos chip, what do you think about the longevity of this phone?(s24 with exynos chip)
We need that antiglare on the standard model, some battery improvements, and some sick new colors on the next model.
If I'm not mistaken only the Ultra has the non reflective screen.
Sneaky... thumbs down to this channel 👎👎👎
how has your experience been with the S24+ ? I am planning to get one so need an actual user's feedback.
@@sauss4472 so apparently, my initial reply to you was mysteriously deleted...
The official samsung anti reflective screen protector actually does a good job of mimicking the ultras display.
Oh nice, I'll have to try that out, thanks for the heads up!
it's bad I'm glad I didn't but it. went with a cheap matte protector and the 75% anti reflection became 100%. the official one sucks. trust me.
@BLAKEEATS1988 yes but as I said. Matt protectors make the display extremely grainy. Especially white zones.
Hey i just wanna know , is the phone comfortable to use ?? some Youtber says that the sides dig into his hands. is that true ?
The top bar is really bothering me. Why is the camera circle sitting on the top bar? Not middle center align like on the nothing phone? Ughhh
Traded my S23 FE and got it for $50. Insane how light and comfortable it is to use compared to the FE. That's the most important thing for me now.
You paid only 50$? Crazyyy, good for you man, enjoy it
@@tiberseptim6648 yeah we had decent promos this year (Canada).
I regret not getting that color. I got the marble gray. Base s24 256gb.
anyone know if an unlocked galaxy s24 will work on at&t? at&t has been very strict on which phones are allowed on their network lately. they cut off service on my sony xperia saying "it's not 5g compatible" when it was working flawlessly for an entire year 🤦
Where can I buy the orange one is it available in showroom
Love the review!
3) How does it measure up to the global variant of the Xiaomi 14?
my S20 somehow just stopped working today (basically killed itself) so i ordered the S24 with 15% student deal today
Does the s24 base come with non reflective screen or do you have to buy that non reflective stuff and install it yourself
Great review! Thanks! Subbed already!
I like how when your outside it automatically adjusts the brightness
Its such a con that they don't allow you to expand the memeory with an SD card
I ordered the s24 regular with 256gb i cant wait for it to arrive
Great review but gotta ask, what’s your keyboard brand name? Lol
Hi. I m planning for s24 snapdragon from Canada. Just wanna ask whether it supports dual sim stand by?
Hi yes it does! I'm in Canada and I bought one myself.
Ok. Thanks. My daughter is student there. Will ask her to buy one when she comes to India.
Get the 24 it sounds like it would be perfect for you.
I'm glad you are enjoying the plus!
But regular s24 is more comfortable
@@TheEverydayDad Monster phone!
@@Voltar78 Not for me!
It's nice to see everyone starting to see the value that was packed into this 24 lineup It's insane we got everyone fighting over which ones better love to see it.
Watching on my s24, violet
Im coming from an s10 so a lot of this sounds great especially the bigger battery and the 7 year support. I ended up getting the orange, wishing it was more of a burnt orange honestly
hey man can you please tell me the default screen zoom and font size for the s24? I really need it
Im thinking about going from iphone 15 to s24, but battery with exynos is my concern, any experiences?
Don't buy the iphone
Hey i just wanna know , is the phone comfortable to use ?? some Youtber says that the sides dig into his hands. is that true ?
i had mine for a week now. All inn all am happy. I am abit sad it dosent have the snapdragon prosessor. But multicore, and raytrace its abit better. But it throttles on long benchmarks. And it uses ALOT of battery when gaming.
How do you like this compared to your z flip 5? I watched both videos and have both phones, and can't decide which to keep.
What was wrong with the screen ,camera & finger print scanner on the S24 ?
I'm looking @ this phone 📱 no good ? 😒 🤔
@@nccapone344
Screen gave me a feeling of a lcd screen, very desaturated.
@saavaa Yeah,
Maybe you're right once your in that Ultra zone its hard to go back down to the other samsung versions for sure!
Appreciate the feedback 🙏 👌 👍 I'll figure out a phone 📱 sometime this year!!! Need to upgrade from the Samsung S20+ 5G 4 years has done me very well no complaints here! 😎
Is it possible to use stylus with regular s24? Any possible way? Cheers.
I just ordered it, but the Exynos SOC.
Is the s24 worthy than the s23 in 2024, considering the exynos available in India here?
I also got the orange one, mainly because I think the copper/golden trim around the lenses will contrast nicely with a black cover. For the Screen: I'll slap Samsung's Anti-Glare screen protector on it and see how it goes, supposedly as good as the Ultra. Sadly we got the Exynos so I expect more battery drain. F Samsung in that regard.
how is the orange color feels?
As a Samsung fanboy, the track pad bit was news to me. 😂
@The Everyday Dad
You should specifically say about what version of the phone you have. EU or USA, because EU version is trash and don't cost it's money, build quality is terrible, that's my experience. Also CPU is different and -18% slower.
I have been using S24 for about 3 months now, very disappointed. Such a dirty lie.
The 24+ is probably the sweet spot.
Edit: the Galaxy S24+ has basically the same battery life as the ultra. Yes, the Ultra has a little bit bigger battery, it's not that important.
You can unlock the phone from the lock screen in S23 Ultra , its mot something new
What are your thoughts on the 8gb RAM and longevity? Love the size but the 12gb Ram on the S24 plus is making me indecisive lol. how did the batteries compare?
@Azu10157 Wow, nice deal! I also can get both for the same price, plus is a better deal but i really like the base size.
Go for more especially if you're a heavy user. Always better to have it and not need it than to not have it and need it. ( more memory )
8gb is more than enough. I have the S24 and I haven't experienced no lag and I'm a heavy user. Bigger phones uses more ram while smaller phones don't.
@@alb.4089 Thank you! I kept the s24 8gb one after all and agreed that its been so snappy and great!
I’m digging the orange color. iPhone user here
