temp_name_change_later grew up eating the Chinese kind. If it helps, Chinese kind is savory only, very rarely is it sweet. The Korean kind is WAY sweeter.
This is by far my favorite SamYang flavor. I used to mix the SamYang Original Hot Chicken Ramen with a Paldo Jjajangmyun. I think that combo is spicier than this SamYang Jjajang. If you get your hands on a Paldo Jjajangmyun you should definitely try it. So good! 😀
@@maayanavraham5521 If you're talking about these particular noodles in the video, I looked in the question section on Amazon and searched "pork," and no there's no pork, and there's also a halal stamp on it. I love this video, you sound much more comfortable and happy, just from your voice and the way you say certain words, and dancing on camera, it's so refreshing! From some of the other videos I watch where you're more direct and instructional. Anyway. Love the video, I'd love to see more like this!
I’ve made jjajangmyeon at home a few times. I find the sauce is just a kinda plain, soy sauce flavour, but it’s REALLY salty so add a little sugar/honey or something sweet to counteract that a bit. I also add a little bit of chilli to change the flavour up a bit and give it a tickle.
“Hard Hat” it’s a good human touch that makes the video seem more humble. Like a home that is lived in. It draws away from the commercial aesthetics of the video and makes it more homely and warm. An aspect that is missing from cooking shows today.
Yes to this idea as well. But if she can figure out a total cheater way to get that flavor, without using the premade flavor powers, that would be amazeballs
The Chinese version of Jajangmyeon as made by my mom is a piece of my childhood. I learned how to make it by watching (and helping) when she made it. It's like comfort food for me.
I love, love, love the original Samyang noodles, even though I absolutely suck at spicy food & I almost cry while eating them, they taste soooo damn nice! And like you, I prefer the drier noodles rather than soupy ones. But yes the flavour of these noodles is incredible, they are so, so tasty! Lol. I always have a glass of milk on standby lol.
Well, sure, but you're not making something to eat right after prepared, you're making something, that has to dry out properly to be reconstituted with water later, it can't burn even a bit, but it has to be fully dried to be shelf-stable and it can't excessively soak oil. So maybe not rocket science, but some kitchen science and preparing. ;)
I love Jjajangmyeon! It's one of my favorite comfort foods. I usually make it with ground turkey instead of ground pork or fried porkbelly but it tastes just as delicious. I would love to see you make some.
I literally eat these every couple of days they are so good. I toss an egg in last minute after draining most of the liquid and adding the sauce. It comes out sort of like egg drop soup texture egg but with the spicy black bean sauce. I’m a fanboy of Jjajang noodles now lol. Oh and throw some fresh jalapeños slices in (not pickled). Wish I had some fresh cabbage to add! lol
These noodles are the bomb! I would say they have a spice level comparable to the original but toned down a bit. I could definitely manage. I really enjoyed the flavor as well.
There's something oddly satisfying about watching Emmy chow down on some ridiculously hot food. Glad I'm not alone in thinking that. Haha *Thanks, Emmy!*
I'm still very impressed that you enjoy these noodles Emmy, I've tried the original and while indeed the taste was delicious, they were just TOO spicy for me, like they were PAINFUL.
Thanks for the review! The way you cook the noodles for just a little bit longer with the sauce and veggies included is the trick, I think. I strained all the water and added the flavour sachets dry, which didn’t quite work. Will try your way next!
These ones are my absolute favorite of the bunch so far. I like the hot chicken, the carbonara, and the cheese. I love the flavor, I've got to try jjajangmyeon soon!

I've been able to find EVERYSINGLE samyang noodles except these! I finally found them locally. I am about to cook some up, I hope I'm not disappointed! 😋 I do love the original and Carbo ones.

Jjajang is normally not spice and actually a little bland here depending on where you get them. They are called single man noodles, and during one holiday similar to valentine's day if you are single you are expected to eat them. Each restaurant has its own flare, as well as regional flares in different provinces. It can be a little soupy or stir fried depending on the restaurant. There is a place down the street from me that does a stir fired version with onions that is amazing. It's like getting Jjimdak, a spicy stewed chicken dish with pumpkin noodles, basically the same but each city has its own style for the dish, and individual restaurants a little extra. Would you be interested in Samyang's Budae Jjigae ramen? I wasn't sure after watching you make your own fresh version.

Also, where do you get all the different flavors and different brands of the ramen soup from??? Cuz ordering online isn't really an option for me so if that's the only way to get them, then that really sucks. But yeah, if anyone knows, please let me know, I would greatly appreciate it, thank you.
Hi emmy! The reason they made this version is because a lot of Koreans were mixing the red sauce from the original samyang spicy noodles and the jjajang powder from instant jjajangmyun (jjajjaroni)! Love your videos
When I cook ramen, I boil the water, shut the stove off, add ramen, cover...then let sit for about 10 minutes. Then I drain, and add any season packs. It gives the noodles a nice consistency. They plump up a bit.
Regular jjajang noodles are not spicy, but there is a kind called sacheon jjajang that is spicy. You can tell it's spicy by its name because sacheon in korean is the same as sichuan in chinese, which is a chinese province known for its spicy food.
