    Thanks, informative video. Due to your guidance, it took longer for the Scotchgard to dry than to replace the cushion and cover....

    Mine was a little different b/c it is an '04 with electric seats. The seat screws were a little different from the video. I also had to cut my seat cover for the electric seat controls and handle for tilting the seat back. As for removal, I found it easier to remove the main 8 bolts holding the entire front bench seat down so I could tilt the whole thing back and then remove the driver seat from the middle attachment. My screws were much harder to get to, but everything else was spot on. This was an excellent video!

    I used coat hanger wire to rethread. That rod had moved the other direction. Duct tape the metal sides. Got some thin foam plastic to line it. Wonderful idea lining the bottom of the cushion.

    This is exactly the video I was looking for. I have a 2003 dodge ram same color interior and the same color truck. Thank you for your follow up response as well.

      I love how you show everything you did. Even the trouble you had. So many videos say what you should do and never show the effort invovled in doing it.

    Thank You for posting this video, a great help. And for not much more than what I was quoted to just repair the seat. I will be tackling my driver side Dodge 1500 Ram seat myself! CHEERS!

    Dang Thank you so much. I have run into the same problem, I have looked at everything I could think of as far as wording goes hunting the very spring set. The seat repairs shops cost more than the truck cost. Fixing to throw a lawn chair with a cup holder on it and duck tape it to the floor. Thanks for the info.

      Thank you very much. I love the way the seat feels and sits now , even though it is slightly more firm foam. In my opinion much bettter quality and does not squish down as much.

    Is there a way to remove the backrest upholstery so i can wash the cloth and clean the foam?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. You can slip it off , however it is a lot work. I usually just take them to the car wash or use a pressure washer. I use full soap and just let it air dry . I have cleaned some of the filthiest this way. Thanks for the question.

    How is the foam and seat cover holding up?

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So far it is holding up great. I actaully like the firmness better than the oem. I wanted to replace the passenger side using the same foam, however they only sell drivers side foam. There is very little difference though and cutting and glueing a piece a foam would make it work. Great question, thanks for the feedback.

    I did this but the seat cover and foam would not stick in the pleats?

    • @ThatGuyInOhio72
      @ThatGuyInOhio72 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gotta line the velcro in the pleats up with the velcro on the seat cover, press FIRMLY into place, then finish installing the cover.... IMHO
