The most fun one is the thief. Just upgrade your attack that lets you throw unlimited 3 or less dice at the enemy than add as many lock picks and duplicates to your deck as possible. You can lock pick a one to create two ones.
Can’t wait to see him learn about the untold mechanics like ging over a value of 6 to get more die(if you Bump a 6 for instance, you get back a 6 and a new 1 pip die), it’s a great discovery game
@@Nostrite It's weird that he tested out some other things, but he didn't test what happens if you bump a 6. Especially since he's played Roll before, where dice can have a face higher than 6.
So excited to see dicey dungeons!! One request though, PLEASE don’t skip over the dialogue/story of the game!! It is incredible, and will even be confusing if skipped. I promise that the story GREATLY supports the gameplay. Also, you CAN bump a 6, lol. It turns into a 6 and a 1, effectively creating a brand new dice for free
I can't wait to see tyler discover all the neat interactions between cards and unique characters and gamemodes (tbf some gamemodes can be a little annoying or not that different, but the great majority of them is soo cool and feels very unique)
This game is SO much fun! I hope this is a medium-long series and you don't skip too many episodes. This is the kind of game where reading dialogue is fun, by the way; has some running jokes and other fun stuff. (I cannot wait to slowly watch luck defy Tyler)
Enemies in this game have nothing special other than what is said in the 'Innate:' area at the beginning of the fight. An example of this is the snowman, who's 'Innate:' area states that he is weak to fire, this does not mean that he is strong against ice, if an enemy is strong against something it will tell you that.
Hey, just so you know, you CAN bump a 6 up to get 7 total pips, but instead of getting a die with a 7 on it. You instead get a 6 AND a 1, which you can use to reroll into a different number. The same also applies when you SPLIT a 1, you get 2 different 1 pip dice.
I loved this! And thanks for making an easy and accessible first episode, I always appreciate when you do that as one of your viewers with no first hand experience in puzzle games. I love it when you take the time to explain the mechanics and your thought process. When I first saw "Battle bands" on another channel, for example, I thought it was too hard and boring, but then I decided to check out your video, and after that I actually thought that it was exactly the type of mental challenge that I needed! I got the game and have been really enjoying it for over 100 hours now.
For sure please do more. Dicey Dungeons is such a fun game and as you said the challange grows quite a lot later in the game. I'm definitely looking forward to you tackling more of this.
DUDE This was one of my favoite games that I watched along time ago so much so that I made a game around it. Nice to see tyler playing it! thanks tyler
I’ve played this game and beaten all the episodes, it’s so much fun and there’s so much stuff to do. Even after you finish there are still mods, I hope you enjoy dicey dungeons Tyler!
Had to check cos I could have sworn Tyler had played this before, but apparently not. Only other person I can think of that I might have seen playing this is Retromation Edit: if you like this, you might also like Poker Quest. Similar idea to this, but you have to make poker hands to activate abilities instead
I bought this game a while ago because it looked fun, and I love it. Nice to see you playing it. Also, you can bump a 6, it returns the 6 and creates another 1.
500k is so close Tyler, I can't wait! ❤️ If you don't do a special vid for it, I don't care I'll just watch the first one to come out after the milestone and CELEBRATE LIKE ITS NEW YEARS
If you like this, you really should try Poker Quest!!!!! It's a pretty similar concept but with playing cards instead of dice. It's a really fun deck builder that I've been wanting to see you play for a long time.
Dude this game is HELLA exciting! I'd love to see you tackle the crazy hard later challanges, this game has a ton of interesting ways to play and ways that it challanges you.
BTW, the Boomerang is one of the best cards in the game IMO. Double damage, no limitations on which number you can put into it, and is a small equipment piece. On top of that, the self-damage ALSO charges your class talent. Plus, if you upgrade it, the self-damage goes from the number on the die you put into it to a static 3, which increases its usability.
yknow, being a person who knows how a game works when someone else plays is very fun. there are no visual cues for curse, that's part of the problem. you plan around the fact one of your items is gonna fail, and hope its not something you really needed. curse is op and I actually really like having curse builds for later episodes... so its broken both ways, but is really fun when an enemy can't touch you because they broke their equipment...
actually, you can go from 6 to 7 by using bump- it gives a 6 and a 1! there are many tricks to getting extra dice (like using lockpick on a 1 or bump on a 6, mainly). super hyped to see this game - its the first one I got on steam for myself, and its probably my favorite strategy roguelike... replay value is infinite
Been a good wait for this game. My favorite is definitely the robot, which lets you roll dice unless you roll over a certain amount (taking away all current dice), but rolling "jackpot" (reaching the highest value without going over) gives you very strong benefits. Very funny character. Edit: All of the female characters in this game are voiced by Adriana Figueroa
I love this game so much! It's oozing with charm in the dialogue (which I do suggest you read) and has a very polished feel to it. Some runs get really powerful if you know what you're doing, too!
WE WANT MORE! This game looks dope and watching you play it is "free" for those of us who can't afford to buy a bunch of little puzzle games, as cool as they seem :D (edit: "free" as a joke, obviously props to the mans behind the camera, love your work Tyler keep it up)
In my case I watched his shotgun king, then vampire survivors, then nova drift, then backpack hero and now I've bought shotgun king and am planning to get Nova Drift. I have to say these new games are amazing.
Dicey dungeons is my favorite strategy deck builder. The individual act system with all the different characters is just so much content and almost none of it feels repetitive to play (not to mention the later acts are hard as hell). Crowbar strats FTW
Love dicey dungeons. Beat every episode and the bonus episodes and the final boss which I won’t spoil. Thief episode 5 is my favorite. You can get a great combo going.
Assuming this video goes over well, I'd like to tackle a run with each character at least once.
Robot is nice
Idk this being a series seems kinda DICEY
Thanks for showing me all these cool games
The most fun one is the thief. Just upgrade your attack that lets you throw unlimited 3 or less dice at the enemy than add as many lock picks and duplicates to your deck as possible. You can lock pick a one to create two ones.
There's actually an ending to this game, if you run through it all. It's rather a fun game overall as well!
Can’t wait to see him learn about the untold mechanics like ging over a value of 6 to get more die(if you Bump a 6 for instance, you get back a 6 and a new 1 pip die), it’s a great discovery game
It's been a bit since I played, but I think also splitting a 1 gives you two. Lots of sneaky small things
@@KuraTheDog splitting a 1 gives two 1s
im so dissapointed he didnt even try to bump a 6
Part of the reason why bump and bump+ are among the best tools in the game in my opinion.
@@Nostrite It's weird that he tested out some other things, but he didn't test what happens if you bump a 6. Especially since he's played Roll before, where dice can have a face higher than 6.
this game is loaded with content, if you really wanted you could do dozens of episodes, each run should be fun enough to watch
Yes
Don't forget the insane challenge runs, or weird highroll things like thief stealing a grizzly potion and becoming a bear.
He’s gonna start losing soon enough, my bet is he loses his first Witch run or the cursed Warrior episode
I guess you could say it’s a loaded DICE game
Isn’t there like multiple classes you can choose which allow you to use different cards?
So excited to see dicey dungeons!!

the reason I love bump lmao
yeah true I really think the story of this game intertwines really well with the gameplay
Die = singular, dice = plural
@@avonthefoxboi1391 Some dialects use dice for singular and plural
@@avonthefoxboi1391 Dice can be used for both singular and plural forms, die is only for singular
In case you play more of this Tyler, using bump with a 6 returns a 6 and a 1. It's a pretty useful tool with some other characters.
thank you for saying that
It's also useful even against e.g. beatrice, with making an extra dice to unlock shock
Oh you mean like 3 others have said? Ty
@@MrMetra101 I didn't see any other comments saying it when I made it, and it useful to know.
I’m so glad you are trying this game it is so simple yet so good and has a lot of strategy for being dependent on dice entirely
I can't wait to see tyler discover all the neat interactions between cards and unique characters and gamemodes (tbf some gamemodes can be a little annoying or not that different, but the great majority of them is soo cool and feels very unique)

Holy crap you are playing this game!
This game is amazing! Yessss! Keep up the amazing content Tyler!
Note to Tyler: if you bump a 6, you get the 6 back and a new dice with a 1, which you can then use separately
best synergy with combat roll. gives an extra dice for a single slot
This is IMO what makes bump one of the best items in the game
These are the highest tier comments: spoilers
@@MrMetra101 how is this even a spoiler like bruh it jus a tip

Though it’s also interesting to note that the freeze status effect is bad against the snow man but only because it gives him an odd to freeze you with

Although the snowman either needs odd or a 1 to attack so ice does help him
Love this game, happy to see you playing it.

Tyler is so smart wtf. Really high quality explanations for viewer engagement and viewer understanding as well.

SUPER stoked to see this game! I hope you play more! Specifically I'd love to see how you play the witch, and the robot!
Yes! Been waiting to see you play this game. Hope you enjoy it! Excited to see your take on the Witch and Jester

HP bar: Cursed 1
Tyler: was there a visual cue? there must have been a visual cue...

I like how this channel just jumps back and forth between puzzle and strategy games xD very entertaining
I’ve played this game and beaten all the episodes, it’s so much fun and there’s so much stuff to do. Even after you finish there are still mods, I hope you enjoy dicey dungeons Tyler!
There's a game called poker quest that plays similarly but with cards instead of dice. it's really difficult and i think you would like it
I tried that one and it was difficult but just felt kinda slow
I've been sayiiiingg that. I want him to play it so much lol
funny i actually just had that idea myself. cannot wait to see how this one is
I recommend this a couple weeks back so happy you finally played it!
