Jimi play in bands with horns… he knew the intrinsic value of playing outside the chord structure to get the individual notes around the sound…. He tuned down to sing easier and make the fee of the strat less “stingy “…..and he could have done this to also use a capo with horns….. he had soundscapes with turning everything up and using the tone knobs and volume to coax the pedals into sonic nirvana!!! Genius mindset toward an every day instrument
This is great! Your insights of Hear My Train A' Coming would be greatly apreciated. All the versions are so great, Oklahoma, Winterland, all three Royal Albert Hall, Gothenburg, Dane County, LA Forum and many more so different everytime....man i love all of them!
Great playing and sound Nik. This is propably my favourite Hendrix song with Little Wing or Voodoo Chile or...too many to mention or to put in order. Please do more videos like this. Any song is fine and SRV too. Peace and love from Finland!
True story, manic depression was the first songI ever worked out on electric guitar (just the basic outline and rhythm). But my first experience with hearing Stevie do manic depression was on the effing radio. It had to be a college station, and I was freaking out...(this had to be like, baby internet days....hear something on the radio, try to wait in the car to see if they will credit an album or bootleg...can'tt go inside and look it up.). Thanks again, intro and licks are amazing, love any time to geek out on this stuff.
