@TopGearClassic Hi! I’d like to ask if clips from the „older” Top Gear would land there as well as it suits the classic title Basically when Jeremy had proper hair and when James wasn’t a spaniel; examples: Toyota Yaris road test, the convertibles group test, Captain Slow’s Rover 75 road test, Clarkson’s Renault Laguna/Megane road test etc
@@ThomasVu Yeah, they def changed the music on a lot of these unfortunately. They used a lot of really good licensed music when the episodes first air but then just replace it with whatever for reruns and clips like these.
They've edited the music and actually use all different music throughout. In the original broadcast the power lap tests had James' music as "the Theme from Z Cars" and Jeremy's music as "A Man Called Ironside" and Richard's music as "Kojak" In the original "Stop Ronnie Stiggs" segment (apprehending the tame getaway driver) Richard has the Magnum P.I theme for example.
I really hate that they did that, cannot watch any of these episodes here in the US with the proper music or without some segments cut-out to make way for commercials. Luckily I have every episode from season 1 to 22 (the original trio) from back when FinalGear was still running, but I do wish for some higher-quality edits, which don't seem to exist at all.
@@louishamilton225 OMG, you're right. I was so pissed at them changing the music in the reveal that I went and watched my downloaded original instead, but the weird cow mooing and ice-cream truck music has been replaced. Tell me farmyard sounds aren't friggin licensed.
I have all the originally aired BBC versions of the first 20 seasons, and I'm SO glad that I do. The fact that they changed all the audio really annoys me, it's not the same show when you watch it "officially" now. They cut Jeremy's dialogue at 0:18 simply because he references a "The Police" song lyric... WTF? Even Jame's ice cream truck noises are removed when they're clearing the road, but those noises made this clip hilarious!! It's also a shame that they charge you to watch these versions on streaming services, too.
where can I watch all the episodes? i'm from Argentina. I will love to have the dvd's but that's impossible 😢. What streaming platforms can i watch all the episodes???
@@urielgonzalez2874 I downloaded them all about 10 years ago. I was starting college and broke haha...even so, I think that was before they aired them in the US anyway. There was no streaming service back then for all of top gear, especially season 1 (I had to pirate them 👀)
The music thing isn't up to the BBC really, it's a copyright issue. For the original broadcast in the UK the BBC has an agreement with the music industry that lets them play any commercial music they want. Doesn't apply to rebroadcast abroad, DVD, streaming etc so they have to redo it with library music, which often ruins it.
@@tomkandy It isn't BBC's fault about music, this is true, but they've also cut some dialogue/images. I'm not sure why editing in this way is necessary; it's a creative piece from that point in television. Why alter what made it so loved at that time? I would assume some of it is for "political correctness", kind of like how Disney has altered their classics.
Did they really edit out Jeremy saying "a-doo doo doo, a-dah dah dah" out of fear of a copyright strike? 😂 And did they really need to edit out the original sirens at 6:53? 😅
For anyone curious about the poor E32 getaway car, it was a 1994 730i so the 3l V8 version. It's MOT expired in 2008 but its taxed and had a V5C issued in 2020 so i think it might have actually survived this episode without going to scrap.
As an American, I agree with Jeremy: how can the people respect your police if they drive a commuter car? Also, at his race start Jeremy was trying to flip around with what we call, "a Rockford" manuever. Made famous by TV private eye Jim Rockford, and real life racer James Garner.
Gotta love how hammons stinger is deploeyed during his lap but magically rolls itself up again for the last corner but disapears at the finish line 🤦♂️🤣 htf did they miss that in post
9:11 The PIT maneuver, or Precision Immobilization Technique, is not used by the police in the UK due to the risks it presents. The PIT maneuver is a law enforcement tactic used to stop a fleeing vehicle by forcing it to spin out and stop. It's considered a standard procedure by most U.S. police departments.
Joking aside, I had a turbo diesel Astra as a company car a while ago, and it was a little rocket! I got about 125mph out of it, and however hard I drove it, it always did about 48 to the gallon. I always liked those old Lexuses (Lexii?) as well.
I like the fact that the videos are of a much higher quality than the broadcasts and the original posting on TH-cam. But what I like most is that they kept the original soundtrack!
Better to be old than to be part of gen Z, with their safe space, 60 genders and pronouns, and the fact that they think men can get pregnant. Older generations always say the new generation is terrible, but in this case we are actually right.
01:30 the first seconds of background music reminds of the Intro of Roxanne by The Police for some reason. Its slllightly similar.(bass lines tempo chords but in a different key)

Kia Starmer ordered you to do this?
@@squaregaming8964 No lol, I just like the old show a lot :)
Nice to see BBC came to their senses and uploaded Top Gear above 144p. It only took them 15-20 years.
doesn't really feel the same in hd for some reason.
Yeah but they are editing out 50% of every good challenge.
Also seems like they released the ones on netflix, instead of on BBC. Music is different.

New Top Gear was so garbage that the BBC has had to create a separate channel for the real Top Gear
So true
And I'm watching it using adblocks. No way BBC deserves money from these uploads.
@hawkmotorsport69-v8l Same, i thought this is fan channel
thnx for great comment
This is new top gear.
"You.. have failed to apprehend the miscreant" is a line that will always crack me up
It's been part of my vocabulary for like 10+ years now
My favourite one from James was "There goes a member of the criminal classes" 😂😂😂😂
I love "something's gone wrong with the handling"!
0:18 “The Police - Call 999 For Details” 😭
Officer Barbie has arrived!
How's this gonna look when you pull up outside someone's house to tell them that ... their husband's just been killed in an industrial accident?

I'm glad someone else noticed too
I was looking for someone mentioning this!!!!
It’s TV, not F1. lol. You can pick holes in all top gear episodes. The continuity isn’t great at all, but I watch for fun..
And disappears again moments later 😂
that's probably where the extra minute came from. he probably went out to reassemble his stinger back on his car 🤣

"Ha ha ha haaaaa!!!!!" 😂😂😂
This was the pinnacle of motoring TV. The old time classics Top Gear Trio of Hammond/Clarksson/May. They will be missed.
We never realized how good we had it until it was gone. Rip the best show ever made
Shoutout to this channel for posting the only 3 top gear presenters that ever existed
In the original youtube video, an ice cream van siren played for james’ car.
Haha! I love how that wheel spike was literally centimerers away from ramming into the legs of the filming crew...ouchie!
I remember staying up as a kid on Sunday watching this episode. Truly one of my favourites.
Bang I’m not in 4 wheel drive anymore. 😂😂😂
The lexus LS400 Police car is awesome
11:55 "Oh no. He's driven round it." Gets me everytime 🤣

I love this episode! Everytime I hit a pothole or clip a curb, I always follow it up with "that's uncomfortable!"
"I think it could be time to admit failure"
Nearly gets taken out by Clarkson's wheel
The bump start at 6:27 and cut to Hammond's little "yeah!" as if it was all planned is one of the best comedic edits of the whole early seasons
The whole show was scripted from start to finish
When i first saw this i literally wept with laughter. The rescue scene was one of the funniest pieces of tv ever
2:09 i never realised how softly Jeremy does James countdown till now😂
This is PEAK Top Gear. It is no wonder this is the best show ever.
That Lexus is amazing, and as a brand.
It has been among the top three most reliable and highest quality cars in the world for 30 years.
"Something has gone wrong with the handling!" iconic 😂
"Somethings gone wrong with the handling" 🤣
This is a garbage cut of this episode. The original episodes need to be available for streaming globally and unmolested.
Good adjective
Clarksons detached wheel almost smashing the camera mans leg into pieces will always twist my stomach
3:27 the reverse whine killed me
13:06 could have been so bad lmao
Today's bbc that would have got the series cancelled
Jeremy got a massive bollocking from healthy and safety about this according to Richard Porter!
Absolutely one of my favorite Top Gear Cheap Car Challenges, it's just so funny, moment to moment.
“Catching Crims and locking them up -
_in your area_ “
Back in the days when the tv license was worth paying for.
At 6:52, and now for something completely different... to the Monty Python siren in May's car.
So good to see these gems brought back in HD😌
top gear classic vs new top gear is like classic coke vs new coke
It's more like comparing an ice cold coke to a cup of warm pond water on a hot day.
Loved this episode back in 2008 😆
6:53 what happened to the original ice cream truck and farm animal noises??
Also the Top Gun song for Hammond's car introduction
On that terrible disappointment, back to the studio.
😂😂😂
Did they really edit out Jeremy saying "a-doo doo doo, a-dah dah dah" out of fear of a copyright strike? 😂
And did they really need to edit out the original sirens at 6:53? 😅
Glad I'm not the only one who caught that
That edit destroyed the whole point of the scene.
yeaaa this made me less excited about more uploads

In the original "Stop Ronnie Stiggs" segment (apprehending the tame getaway driver) Richard has the Magnum P.I theme for example.
They also edited another song when hammond arrives with his car. It should be take my breath away by berlin...

06:15 Jezza's Dying Laugh 😅😅😅
Write the boys a 1 BILLION British Pounds check, and bring they back, this is f hilarious to this day!

Hammond was unironically onto something with his spike trap, modern police catch ropes aren’t super far off from it
Jeremy's would be the best at stopping a speeding car it just wouldn't be legal due to the risk of damage.
"We are rubbish" cracked me up! 🤣🤣🤣
this is what top gear was all about
