Having a $50 season pass isn't enough for Activision. Having preorder bonuses and sliced away content isn't enough for Activision. Having Monster energy drink promos isn't enough for Activision. Having Hungry Jack's promos isn't enough for Activision. No. No no no. We need to have paid loot boxes in MP and Blackout. We need to have a Fortnite-ripoff battle pass. We need to have horrificially pay-to-win loot boxes in Zombies. We need to design a whole shitty grinding system deliberately designed to batter at the gates of your patience in order to try and pry money off people with addictive personalities. We need to keep promising every year that we won't do it, and then going back against our word within a few weeks. I'm a bit surprised you didn't take a bigger piss out of the fact that a bunch of the maps and operators are ripped from old games, seemingly to try to lure back old fanboys who were scared off when Sledgehammer Games tried to put their own spin on COD in WW2. It kind of feels more like a COD Holiday Special or recap episode than an actual new installment of the series; one that without a campaign of semi-memorable moments will likely fade from memory the moment the next one comes out

COD maps are LEARNABLE--it's literally the reason it's the biggest multiplayer franchise, if you intuitively know the map, you can dominate, meaning every time you play a map, you get a little better (why they put RPG crap into Modern Warfare, it was mimicking the dynamic so closely). That means "nostalgia" maps are more fun to play for people burnt out on new CODs. It's not a desperate attempt to re-skin content because they're cheap, it's a desperate attempt to appeal to a burnt-out COD fans, because already-learned maps are more fun, because they can dominate on them. Big difference.
I just want a ww2 cod that combines the best of all the ww2 cods into one updated game. COD WAW was almost perfect for me, minus there being no British campaign or weapons.

Zombies would be. Almost as bad of a roll out as Revelations. Easter Eggs are a big deal to the fan base and they were unplayable because they were bugged to shit. Game would just randomly crash. Plus, charging full price for an immitation of fortnite/pubg is kinda upsetting for how blatant of a cash grab it is. It would almost definitely be mostly negative because even the 12 yo's know they are being conned for the price.

a prince of persia sequel where you play a flying disembodied breast, while fighting giant alien colossal monsters with a portal gun. Topped off with a wacky gta criminal sandbox, a completely depressing story and ballbusting difficulty. We also can't forget the horror elements with masterful symbolism and atmospheric pacing to make the giant alien monsters represent the main characters personality flaws that they dread. Then it needs to have one or two secret stages with 1000 enemies, that just leaves a few creative weapons like a slingshot that shoots bears, with the only objective being to kill everything... oh and every level has to have a secret jetpack in it

At the risk of sounding like a pretentious ass, I too enjoyed the tutorials the most because of Captain "Woods" Insecure, since he was my favourite character in the entire black ops series next to Reznov. But the second I heard him say "that was lit" in the tutorial I immediately gave up enjoying him because they reduced his character to nothing but "hey look we brought him back somehow because black ops and now he talks like the cool kids" and that's when it dawned on me that the entire game is basically just "look at me I can appeal to everything in current gaming culture too and I'm going to try and do it better and use a well established series to try and pull in old fans while we run it into the ground because _memes_"

a prince of persia sequel where you play a flying disembodied breast, while fighting giant alien colossal monsters with a portal gun. Topped off with a wacky gta criminal sandbox, a completely depressing story and ballbusting difficulty. We also can't forget the horror elements with masterful symbolism and atmospheric pacing to make the giant alien monsters represent the main characters personality flaws that they dread. Then it needs to have one or two secret stages with 1000 enemies, that just leaves a few creative weapons like a slingshot that shoots bears, with the only objective being to kill everything... oh and every level has to have a secret jetpack in it
I feel like he isn't entirely consistent in his praise and critique. You'd run into contradictions, probably.

The game does, that quote doesn't. Politicians try very hard to appeal to a wide array of very base instincts (Greed, fear, laziness beyond reading an excess of 140 characters...can you guess what country I live in yet?) by stealing from every crack and crevice that offers anything to anyone that expects anything more substantial from life; therefore attracting the lowest human denominator.

At the risk of sounding like a pretentious ass, I too enjoyed the tutorials the most because of Captain "Woods" Insecure, since he was my favourite character in the entire black ops series next to Reznov.
But the second I heard him say "that was lit" in the tutorial I immediately gave up enjoying him because they reduced his character to nothing but "hey look we brought him back somehow because black ops and now he talks like the cool kids" and that's when it dawned on me that the entire game is basically just "look at me I can appeal to everything in current gaming culture too and I'm going to try and do it better and use a well established series to try and pull in old fans while we run it into the ground because _memes_"
