This really helped me as I was always under the impression that you have to kneel low with your lead leg (that goes between the legs) - I just can't do that, not sure if it's a balance or mobility thing but this method I could do all day
Same here it doesn't make sense to do that on concrete either. If you were trained from young as wrestler it would be effective but for BJJ guys this is way better. Plus, George St Pierre doesn't usually put his leg down and he is GOAT
@@tango12341234 its simply because in wrestling ppl stand lot deeper and more crouched so you need to drop on your knee In mma you don’t because ppl are more upright
@@MrJeppo96 That's actually why I looked at this video. .. I did wrestling in high school then jc. By then i was also doing GJJ and judo. I started to disdain anything that had me going to my knees. Not good idea for longevity of training or self-defense. ..... There was a D1 wrestler with messed up knees - that suggested looking into the 'high double' and 'high single' ..... But basically, you nailed it- that wrestling crouch necessitates a lower level change and deeper penetration step.

tutaj dobrze widac double leg takedown. 1. Kolano w miedzy nogi 2. uderzamy barkiem w klatke przeciwnika 3. obracamy glowe przeciwnika w strone tego barku
step lead foot in between legs , grab behind knees and shoulder jab , pull knees together and move them laterally to sweep opponent to side then side control
Nice video Ivan, at 4:30 in the video to take side control after the takedown, are you able to fall with him and use your shoulder to break your fall into his stomach? Or do you find you are still standing after the throw naturally and need to follow him down after like in the video?
I'm 17 and started doing BJJ a few months. I wanna learn this takedown, I think it's less dangerous for our knee because we don't down our knee until the ground at first time? Thanks (srry for my English)
When you land down on side control, you walk to his head t to apply pressure to the side of guilotine where the hand closes while draging his hand to open it and drag your head out

Finally a video that makes sense on a simple but effective double leg takedown

quite awkward
@Popularity Matters they dont??
For maximum lever

I much prefer this than the knee down version they teach in bjj which isn’t replicable on the street else you’d break your knees

What is this called, and what is the submission you can get from it?
That was sweet a double leg his hips and legs were underneath him ready to explode

How do you defend against the guillotine choke while doing the double leg?

So knee doesn't have to make contact to the ground? I find it hard to leverage without that
