JB on here lying. That was a regular double. His blast double is different. Head in the breast plate not even hitting a knee back of his head brushing across his opponents nose and lips for extra punishment.
@@gonzalorocha Interestingly you can hear him say "double leg" in the vid. They might have gotten the title wrong. I don't know sh*t about wrestling, just that it's cool.
It cant be underestimated how important it is for you to pull that left leg through quickly after the penetration step so you can turn the corner on guys.
Obviously this guys knows his stuff... I'm wondering however why some coaches say never to reach with the same side as your lead leg to do collar ties. My understanding is that it leaves you vulnerable to throw bys and single legs. Here he collar ties with same side as lead leg, so just trying to understand better.
He actually tends to do that too. It's odd because most people wouldn't consider this a "blast double" which he is known for. By most accounts, this would just be a standard double leg takedown which he also does but isn't quite the "patented" takedown that he is known for. th-cam.com/video/FpYhcmqDZp8/w-d-xo.html Edit: He does it to suit the explosive nature of the takedown rather than to stave off guilloutine/gogo choke attempts. You're really susceptible to being thrown when you try to drive straight through your opponent with your head outside on a double leg.
just to let you know...this is not how jordan burroughs does his double leg takedowns. This is one of those things ppl teach a specific way over and over again but is wrong. jordan burroughs actually drives with his forehead into the opponents chest causing the opponent to land on his/her back. all the momentum goes straight through the opponent.
Well sure, no one who is one of the Goats of their sport isn’t an incredible athlete. John smith definitely had a more finesse focused game and JB used more power. I mean JB’s physical attributes are just other worldly - it’s just true. For example Kyle Dake - his best attribute is strength and athleticism he id the freak of 74 kg right now - JB was even stronger and made Dake look slow. Grandpa JB going non stop for 10 years was STILL faster than Dake in 2021 trials and Dake had to change his style Teach an un athletic guy blast double reshots like Jordan and he’ll be useless - teach him sneaky low singles with technical finishes and he’ll catch some guys for sure. Slow ass ben askren even hits low singles.JB’s style is tech ical sure but it also requires power - I mean running through Andrew Howe across 40 ft of mat - no one was like “ wow why didn’t I think of that before?” Lol Don’t get me wrong JB - is knows technique for sure and his mat awareness and match IQ is one of the best. But I think peak 2012/13 burroughs beats any 74kger in history and what would put him past a guy like Saitiev is blasting through For the record JB is my favorite US wrestler, pure class and the best ambassador to the sport we have - but the dude is straight up freaky powerful snd thats the truth lol

Been trying to use the double leg on my bjj game, this definitely helps. Thanks JB!
Beautiful breakdown thank you
Watching it in realtime at the end is a thing of beauty, thanks for the tips
Two straight beasts right there!
Humble brag using Mark Hall as your wrestling dummy....
This is so awesome Rudis!
This set up has helped me so much with my doubles.
It's amazing to learn anything from the greatest American wrestler of all-time
Yeah any time Bruce Baumgartner teaches I listen
@@lumpo9681 yeah anytime John Smith talks I listen
Anytime Dave Shultz speaks I..............ah shit nvm
Any time AJ Ferrari shouts I listen.
You are kidding, right?
The attention to detail 🔥
I wish someone had taught me like this back in the day
So awesome to see such technique boiled down like !!!
Excellent coaching from JB
Alot of great details. I will be implementing these into my BJJ
Alhamdulilah thank you my brother.

Tbf he doesn’t shoot doubles like that anymore or at least it’s more rare, since most of his doubles come off of re-attacks
Step one: have arms as long as JBs
Step two: grab dem legs from half a mat away
JB ain't lying, he never says blast double. Someone else mislabled the video but everything he said while filming is perfectly legit
Who's jb? Justin Bieber?
@@counterkidnapping1737 Jordan Burroughs, the guy in the video. Also a strong contender for greatest American freestyle wrestler of all time.
Such a clean breakdown 👌
Squishy mat at Penn
Jordan’s blast double he smashes through his opponent’s face with his head
Thanx Jourdan
Big fan of Mark hall and his very humble demeaner he always carries.
Any advice on stabilising the positition when grabbing the knees?
Awesome!
Pure gold
The best to ever do it
When Jordan shoots for a double it's indistingushable from a cheetah at full stride
i love you jordan
That's not a blast double. That's a double leg. A blast double is head into the belly.
I don't know how people do that without breaking their necks
@@WilliamsWrestlin idk how people correct an Olympic Gold Medalist on their signature move lol

Are you guys dropping JB shoes
Is it possible to do a blast double if he has a stagered stance?
End up with a single
If you drive any double leg even with bad technique is possible in that case yes but you might end up in a bad position
Great video but incorrectly titled, as others have pointed out
great stuff but this i don't think this is referred to as 'blast double'
This is great but this is not his blast double, this is just a normal double leg.
G.O.A.T.
More tutorials please from high level guys
Fix the title guys this isn’t a blast double
Great content. Too bad the audio sucks.

For jiu jitsu I aim my forehead at their center because of guillotines. What do you guys do to adjust your double leg for grappling?

I was always taught not to post with the lead hand. Why is that ok here?
You have your left hand to defend which you keep at “home” as jb said
I thought it was wierd too. Seems JB just wants a hand defending his legs and doesn't care which one it is
I'm india wrestler I'm all so Jordan fan
Mark Hall is the best.
Fight Islam makachev in a wrestling match
Jordan smokes him
Jordan would pin him.Sambo isn't good outside of mma or in freestyle

Why’d he wearing Kyle snyders
Jordan thats a regular double
Aren't you risking to get guillotined with this ? In MMA I mean
Max was here
But who is to say this guy knows anything about wrestling???
He's not judo world champion
