    why not add a thin film of dielectric grease on the connectors to keep it from oxidizing in the future?

    My horn did not work and a friend saw that the connector at the horn was corroded and when he replaced it the horn sounded. He left it disconnected and I took off the horn ring and connected the horn and it stopped. If I touch the ground wire to the steering wheel it sounds. I tried to reconnect the horn ring and cannot get it to stop sounding. Do the steps you are outlining on the grounding apply to this problem?

      If the ground wire is shorted anywhere along its path between the horn and the column, this will cause the horn to sound. You need to work through the entire path and find out where the short to ground is.

      @@Endfloat one of the three washers under the screw heads on the horn ring was metal. I replaced it with one from a neoprene screw and problem fixed!
