I had forgotten how much of a chunker you were, great progress man! You're looking good nowadays!
LOL... yeah buddy lost like 25lbs
@@JWClassicVW Only? Dude! It looks like a whole lot more! Keep at it!
Everyday in the gym man!!
I appreciate your videos. I was having a headlight issue with my ‘61. I never thought about cleaning the ground point where the wire connects to the body. Thanks to your video, I did that and totally solved my problem!
Such a beautiful clean and neat build. Your attention to detail is reflected in your laminated notes. L & S just for that!
Thank you soooooo much! I really do enjoy being organized when doing any work on my Goose!
@@JWClassicVW You have inspired me to take a whole new look at my build, and raise my efforts to a new level of neat and tidy. Yours looks amazing, and I want to aspire to that level, too
That's awesome!! would love to see some progress photos as you move along... be sure to share them!
Excellent video my friend! Love the color of ur bug!!

Nice fix man! That new distributor is going to be sweet!
Thx man!! Yeah it's going to make a huge difference. I spent 2 hours today just playing with the dual carb linkage. I may be a little obsessed... lol
Jason, I have been building/restoring VW's and British cars (Lucas-lord of darkness !) for 50 years. One suggestion on grounds- use star washers !
Thanks Tom!!
Just started watching watched the whole build beautiful car
Thank you Josh!! I do love working on her... my dream machine!!
There is no such thing as a budget built. You must always improve.
Congrats on the trophy!
So true Terry... budget build what's that... lol
Thanks Jason. Learning a lot from your videos
Glad to hear it man!
Do mine next!

Very helpful video, thanks for posting it. I have a 56 ragtop I’m working on and was curious which heat shrink you recommended, I couldn’t find it in your notes, or I missed it, thanks again!
Glad it helped, as far as good heat shrink goes here is one I've used and liked.

@@JWClassicVW thank you!
You're bug is awesome, I've had mine apart for about 6 months now and I'm getting towards the end and things keep popping up... its so frustrating, I just want to drive my bug
Thanks Seth! Goose is my baby! I know how you feel, having a car that you can't wait to drive will make you go mad if you can't... 🙃🙃🙃
I too have a 56 Oval Ragtop. Any chance those wiring diagram, ragtop info, are available to get Copies of? Thanks
The Samba is a great source for info... check out the link below.

My front passenger light wiring and city bulb wiring completely burned out. Only my high beam works on it now. Could this be because of a similar grounding issue?
Sure this could be a possibility, but shorting out somewhere could also cause a bulb to burn out. It's important with anything electrical to make a carful inspection of all wiring to insure grommets and insulation haven't been damaged overtime. With grounding and an older or original wiring the actual lug may need replacing.
Aloha from Hawaii J,
Can you please give me a part number for the headlights parking bulb.
Thanks for making these videos!! Where did you buy the scissors that you are always using?
You can pick up a pair of those or similar at Lowes or Home Depot in the electrical department. Normally near the what looks like a cable TV installer section.
Do u have a fluted bulb with fluted lens?
It is a fluted lens, not sure about the bulb... There is a story there as I do have the clear ones as well. When I was stationed in Italy I was restoring a 1965 Beetle that had these fluted lenses, unfortunately I ended up losing the Beetle but was able to keep a bunch of parts from it.
Awesome video but not as awesome as youre car! Haha its a beautiful beetle, i was wondering where can i buy those two black covers in the trunk for my 63?
Haha ?
Hey man these covers are available through CIP1 and JBUGs.

Thank you for the reply, i was talking about the round ones where the spare tire goes.
@@Bugmason I picked mine up off the Samba used.
"budget" 😁
Lol... I know right!!
Jason... I CANT HEAR... might wanna get closer to mic... thnx, jS
Old video brother, my audio has been upgraded since this recording... thanks for looking out.
@@JWClassicVW btw... very cool bug of yours in that piece... color is fantastic. I still have my origional 66 purchase in May 21st of that year. Mike Smith (now Toyota of LaCresenta) called me last month to wish 'Lucillebug' and me Happy 54th Anniversary purchase date... His agency, Bob Smith VW Hollywood (CA) took our orders for the new bugs (mine and my sister's) in late December, 1965. Off I go! jS
@@jshelburne2704 That is so cool! A true original owner!
