My fiancé and I are going through alot right now with SDA family members and church members having concerns about us having concerns on the SDA church itself. Also have a Bible study meeting with an old pastor that my sda family wants us to have. Been really wanting to talk more indepth with someone from this perspective. To better formulate my thoughts and look further into how we are called to serve The LORD our God

@@wisdom-seeker4526 There are a number of ex SDA videos on TH-cam which you may like to Google. Reasons why they left.
Personally though I have never an been SDA as I find the belief unusual :
      1. Jesus is still preparing for our salvation at the heavenly sanctuary means salvation is not at Calvary
      2. The sins that Jesus carry is finally not carried by Him but instead pass onto Satan. So the devil is the one who carries our sins which means Satan is our Savior ? Jesus saves because He is the Lamb of God who bore our sins. So this transferring to Satan like the sacrificial lamb in the Temple is bizarre.
      3. The writings of EGW is 'on par with scriptures" . Similar to 2 Tom 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
EGW writing is her writings are a continuing and authoritative source of truth and provide for the church comfort, guidance, instruction, and correction

Catholics: We must not fall into relativism. We have to live out our faith, understand it, evangelize Protestants. We're all Christians but we're not the same. It's your duty to pray for anyone you know to become catholic. Pray and God will do the rest. But pray and live the Catholic faith. Do not be shy to expose your Rosary, to pray before and after food, to make sign of the cross. If you do, be sure you know how to respond if someone questions you about it. Collect Catholic pamphlets and just display them on your desk. Have your bible with you and read it with the liturgy of hours, whether there are people or not. Let's not hide.

As an SDA, just need to correct the idea that Ellen White was the foundress of the church. The church was founded by many individuals from many denominations. Ellen White was in the mix, but not a lone founder. She never even held an official title.

The only place where you can live a life of grace is in the Catholic Church. It is the only Church that has the tools (sacraments). An example, without confession, how will a baptized get back into grace. And once you loose your grace through mortal sin you can’t make any spiritual progress. The devil gets more sway over you and if you die in that state, you loose your salvation. What about repentance? Sure, but repentance (sorrow for your sin) has to be intense enough to at least amend partially for your sin. This is difficult for a mortal sin because a mortal sin is an infinite injustice to God (look what happened with Adam and Eve’s sin). This is where confession comes in, sorrow and the blood of Christ to wash away your sin. This is implemented in confession. Can Christ just grant you prefect contrition on your death bed as he did the good thief on the cross? Is it possible? Remember that this was before he instituted the Church and confession. The thief did not have access to those tools. Will a non Catholic get that gift on his death bed? Depends, Can he say he was seeking the truth and could not find it, or was he just justifying his life and finding himself teachers that agree with him so he/she can feel good about the sins he/she loves to commit. The Church’s mission is to save souls. It has all you need to be saved, that is the only sure way to salvation outside of which are no promises or guarantees or sacramental graces. Only uncertainty, division, spiritual anarchy, and confusion. No-one knows this better than a Catholic convert.

The difficulty with the Roman Catholicism is that it usurps the word of God. The Sabbath is the seventh day of the week per Genesis 2:2-3, not the first day of week. The Roman Catholic Church sought to change it to the first day, being God’s representative on Earth. Not good.
There are many things the Roman Catholic Church teaches as facts that are not in the Bible. For example, the Bible says Jesus Christ is our intermediary with God, so we confess our sins to Jesus Christ. The Roman Catholic Church teaches that a priest is our intermediary, so we are to confess our sins to the priest. Not Biblical.
Revelation doesn’t tell us what the mark of the beast is. I’ve heard several ideas, one of which is Sunday worship. It’s one idea.
Adventism does focus on end-times, as Jesus Christ said he’s coming again. No one knows when, so best to be ready.
I’ve never heard of Roman Catholics coming after us with guns. That sounds excessively extreme. That’s new to me.
The SDA church and it’s originator encourage us to read our Bible, and to not yield to people.

Sunday is the Lord's Resurrection day not a j_ew rest day! Because the apostles Broke Bread Resurrection Day, first day of the week in ACTS 20:7, this is why we observe Sunday. Sab_bath / circumcision are nonbinding in the new covenant as stated by Paul in COR 2 & declared by Peter and the church at the Council of Jerusalem in ACTS 15. 2ND Sola scriptura is a false doctrine, The holy bible is a declared canon of the Catholic Church in the 4th century, it is a Catholic book based from the Sacred Tradition of the Catholic Church, not scriptures.

The Church is a banquet....love that metaphor. Why let them(Protestants) just subsist on crumbs? Too many Catholics cannot believe what you just said. They take the easy path and don't get involved, they stay out of the fight for the Holy Church. It is aggravating. We have to be able to put our faith out there more and let ourselves suffer through it. Because there is faith grown in suffering. We cannot win everyone over so we have to keep treading along despite it. Just like Jesus did with the Jews of His day....they hated Him..(not all, of course).

At minute 12, the point is made by Aurthur that sda believe “the entire test for the end times is of the day of worship. But I would offer that what SDA are teaching is that the issue comes down to one of authority. And I think that what I’m hearing from the three of you as well. The authority of RC vs authority of the word of God.
Q: which day is the sabbath day?
    A:Saturday is the Sabbath Day
Q:why do we observe the Sunday instead of Saturday?
A: We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church Transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday.
    - Rev. Peter Geirmann C.SS.R the converts catacism of catholic doctrine p 50
Catholics may use a different catacism these days, but I could find several more official quotes that affirm the same story.
why were they able to make this change except the claim of authority to be able to change God‘s law?
It is on this claim of authority that the test of loyalty lies. Not about a day, but of who we worship. But the issue of the mark of the beast is future. And so it is worth noting the Adventists believe that God has his true followers in all the churches.
I’m a lifelong Sda and I was never taught that Catholics were going to kill me. But I will affirm that seventh day adventists do teach that the Roman Catholic Church is the beast that comes out of the sea. And that people are warned against the worship of the beast and his image. And that the image to the beast is the mark of her authority. And the mark of Roman catholic authority is the changing of Gods law.

Its not true. Its not through
EGW that SDA intepret the BiBle. Adventist read the bible and allow the Holy Spirit to interpret the word of God to be shared with others to draw closer to God.This couple view of adventist is very narrow to their family experience. I wonder if they have allowed the Holy Spirit through prayer to help understand the Word of God. Some of the things both are saying are not true of Adventists. How did the forth commandment of God become a third commandment? Thats very interesting to know.
