If you’re thinking about the infantry it’s absolutely CRUCIAL that you have the right mindset. If you’re joining for cool Call of duty action, absolutely do not enlist as infantry. The amount of “Infantry” things you do, is not as much as you expect. You WILL hate your life and you WILL want to quit every day of your miserable life. But if your one and only goal/reason is to put your life up and go through hell to protect your family and country then absolutely join. You will hate your life still (it’s a lot of cleaning and other bullshit boring tasks) but when that day comes where you get deployed you’re going to be a fucking machine. You’re going to feel this inner beast inside of you just let loose and become this warrior you dreamed of being. That being said, what helped me get through infantry was treating every single training day like if you were in the middle of a war fighting for your family back home, this will give you a reminder of why you started and what you’re fighting for.
I wanted to join a 91 but they said I couldn't be a recruiter. So I improvised adapted overcome it and I'm just going to get some anyway. 🇺🇲 O'ORAH MARINES 😘
That stuff is definitely relevant, but there are many aspects of warfare (especially for ground combat units like the infantry) that have changed little since WW2 - only the toys have got better. Look at the war in Ukraine. It's a combination of high tech warfare and the kind of shit that happened in the 1940s. Hell, even WW1 style trench warfare has made a comeback. Don't assume every future war will be like the Gulf Wars or Afghanistan for America either. Sooner or later America is going to go to war with someone that's got at least a decent ability to fight back (mitigate against American air superiority, etc etc) and inflict the kind of casualties that the US hasn't experienced since Korea and Vietnam, if not worse.
I’m digging the new training ideas. But wth happened with woman in the infantry now…? I was in when they were first experimenting with FET and all that and not just on paper but in practice it was a complete and utter failure in every way. What exactly changed?
@@Novabunny_ lol by that you mean lowering requirements, increasing logistical needs and problems, and over all messing up the infantry and getting people killed for no reason other than trying to be more PC…?

@@KlASELI in the add? Yes. They specifically point it out. Which is the reason I asked. And before you react like I’m being sexist I’m not. The standard was dropped years ago to help allow females into grunt units. Which is why I have an issue with it. And no it doesn’t depend on the individual, it’s about genetic differences. From muscle and bone density to testosterone levels etc etc. Not to mention logistical issues and distractions. Drop your feelings and look at hard facts objectively and think about the unnecessary loss of life because the military wants to be PC. Then again I’m sure you’ve never seen combat so me explaining this to you is pointless anyways.
i wanna be an infantry marine! When i enlist i don’t know if i’m correct but i’ve heard that’s there’s a garenteed infantry option. this means you will be garenteed to go to school of infantry and you will for sure be infantry but your MOS is not garenteed and that will be decided after training. am i correct?
A field can be guaranteed in your contract (0300 - Infantry) but not specific MOS. That's decided at SOI, you get to express a preference, but needs of the Marine Corps comes first. More than likely you'll be a Rifleman (0311) but you could be a Machine Gunner (0331), Mortarman (0341), Light Armored Reconnaissance (0313), etc.

I don’t know man. The concept is great, but it got implemented about 20 years too early. ITB needs to change, but everyone who has graduated IMC is going to the same units where ITB grunts are going, the training received on weapons systems isn’t going to be applicable because weapons MOS’s still exist, and the entire chain of command still revolves around old school command and control. Plus grunt culture doesn’t care if you went to some special school and got extra training, you’re still just going to do what you’re told to do when you’re told to do it. SOI and the fleet are two different beats entirely anyway.
I agree with this, the grunts in the fleet won’t care who you are , or what training you’ve done. Yes, it’ll help them pick up the fleets training, and they’ll be more knowledgeable then an 8 week course ITB boot, but I still believe the culture will change once those older grunts start rotating out, and these new IMC Marines take charge.
I mean your wrong. I definitely like being able to tell one of my boots to get on the machine gun when we are in a defense. Knowing they know the theory. I definitely like not having to explain PB ops or how to trouble shoot a radio to them for the first real time.

@@KlASELI lmfao straight to attacking because I support flaming incompetent leadership, or, better yet, people who think they’re above being accountable. I’m no longer in, force design is for getting the Marine Corps up to speed on near peer threats and going back to amphibious assault as higher priority.
The ARMY is a joke
yall finna make me enlist if u keep posting
10days till bootcamp 03xx can’t wait for this new training

I wanted to join a 91 but they said I couldn't be a recruiter. So I improvised adapted overcome it and I'm just going to get some anyway. 🇺🇲
O'ORAH MARINES 😘
Sergeant López, I’m currently in IMC and man let me tell you he’s a tough bag of nails. Not gonna say he’s hazed us damn IMC is tough 😂
I wonder what training they are getting on AI and robotic weapons, drone bombers, new age warfare type stuff.
SSG Stewart, lamoooooo I know him. He was SGT Stewart when I arrived to my first unit lol. He was our sponsor. Good dude.
Are those M27 IAR?
Yes the Marines switched to them a few years ago
@@echo_94 Oh, wow. They replaced the M4?.
@@PODSMPSG1 Yes. Our Rifles are manufactured by HK.
@@albertomejia1570 Nice. The IAR is lighter, shorter, more reliable, easier to maintain and more accurate than the M249 SAW.

I’m digging the new training ideas. But wth happened with woman in the infantry now…? I was in when they were first experimenting with FET and all that and not just on paper but in practice it was a complete and utter failure in every way. What exactly changed?
It is what it isssss
@@Novabunny_ lol by that you mean lowering requirements, increasing logistical needs and problems, and over all messing up the infantry and getting people killed for no reason other than trying to be more PC…?
Did you see a single female grunt here? That answers your question. Women can be grunts but can they meet the standard? Depends on the individual, nothing can stop a woman from being a grunt except for the gender neutral 03XX standards.
@@tylervaneffen8298 You're complaining about an issue in ITB thats a non issue in the fleet
They should've kept the LWH instead of switching to the ECH, the full size PASGT style cut of the LWH looked cooler
We’re switching to High Cut helmets now, they’ve been getting rolled out with electronic ear pro to Victor Units for a while now

1:59 Promotions? What's that?
i wanna be an infantry marine!
How can I switch from ARNG to USMC Reserves?
Only when you finish your contract, the ARNG is considered the "Marine retirement home", but if you're that set on switching you gotta wait some time
You guys make us civs feel safe XD
No stone left unturned.
I’m thinking about going into the marine corp but I’m not sure if I wanna go active or reserve.
Depends on your finances and personal goals
Happy birthday belated by one day. According to my calculations it is number 247 or 24/7 outstanding thank you all for your service. Puke civilian out.
Is it possible to join after 30 but before 35 non prior service with an age waiver?
Do they still make you jump over a wall and throw a M19 over your head full kit? Ain’t no way that female marine did it. I graduated in 2018
This was my class and yea 😂😂 they didn’t
The recon badges hit so diff😭
How do u join infantry
Nice to see the new rifles and not the M4 and M16’s
Beware: They dont tell you the toll this mess puts on your young prime body and how ridiculous the VA is post service. I have a Bad back and knees. Only 32 yo with severe PTSD, will be homeless in 32 days, due the severe obstructive sleep apnea causing me to be tired throughout the day and to sleep most days .. can’t get the VA to do shit for me or service connect any of the injuries. Afghan combat vet here and I recommend you go to college.
Cool.
@@JoaMAN74 happening as we speak & more so very soon, sooner rather than later
i dissagree if youve been looking at the war in with russia and urkraine the privates here have been trained with the weapons the ukraines are using and also the tactics we also are trained to understand nco type of level knowledge what the russians fail to learn and understand our privates are better trained than russian ncos
That's how it'll be initially, but the culture will change after these new boots from the course become the sergeants
How can I meet a Marine? Help me please!

They should have stuck with Kevlar helmets. Atleast they cover the ears. They look so much more badass too.
Seems like LtCol Scheller left an impact, and caused the Corps as a whole to look inward in itself
Why do you think he caused this?
@@SteezySteez2011 his whole rant was how leadership needs to be accountable, because Marines are always doing shit on a tight leash and preaching about accountability and that every problem the Marine Corps has is because there is no accountability passed a certain point.
This is teaching young Marines to think on their own and problem solve, without an NCO holding their hands. This was obviously caused by a reflection of senior leadership that the Corps needs to focus on the junior enlisted so that when they become Sgts and Staff NCOs they will be able to handle more responsibility and make the right calls in the moment. Not from a desk like a Lt or Cpt
@@almightytwee1188 if you’ve read force design 2030, which talks about what the commandant sees in the future of the marine corps. He emphasizes not just independent decisions being made by the Battalions themselves but within the grunt squads (in accordance with the commanders intent) to complete the mission.
But seeing your comment I can tell you haven’t read any of the publications and instead choose to stay in like a little ignorant bubble. I don’t dislike LTC Scheller at all but what he did has nothing to do with the POI changes and the new course. IMC isn’t fully implemented yet. There are still ITB classes, the marine corps is still playing around with this concept.
@@KlASELI lmfao straight to attacking because I support flaming incompetent leadership, or, better yet, people who think they’re above being accountable.
I’m no longer in, force design is for getting the Marine Corps up to speed on near peer threats and going back to amphibious assault as higher priority.
It’s just a restructuring of the FMF for the next mission. They’re “playing with it”, it’s going to be another school or tacked onto something else, I doubt it’s going to replace ITB. As well, someone somewhere was clearly shoved, to make a noticeable change enough to advertise it to the world. Otherwise why even make this video like this.
Stay pressed.
this had been in the pipeline many months, almost a year, before LtCol Scheller did anything. This is apart of Force Design 2030. LtCol Scheller, although highly publicized, left minimal impact on the Marine Corps.
