New Infantry Marine Course aims to create smarter, tougher infantrymen. The new course is about 5 weeks longer than the current, 9-week infantry program, providing additional time for practical application and repetitive training. The course uses a redesigned learning model for students intended to develop their capabilities for independent and adaptive thought and action.

This is what’s SUPPOSED to be taught, when I got in it was the basics of the basics with the infantry. How’s your weapon operated at a basic level? How do you solve a basic malfunction? The basics of fire and maneuver and such. No real medical, nothing of the sort. All the stuff they’re learning was taught at your unit and passed down soldier to soldier. This is great

Anyone seeing this. STRETCH. I went to ITB in 2020 and ended up getting medically sperated. I have multiple herniated discs that I suffered throughout boot camp and all the way through ITB from hiking. I could not tie my shoes, sit on the toilet, or do anything without my fellow Marines help. My herniated discs are so bad they cause radiculapathoy in my legs, leg spasms, frequent urination, migraines, my leg twitches so bad I need a cane 2-4 days a week and it aches my knees. I can barely sleep at night because of the pain, I'm only 21 mind you.
    Please stretch, ice, properly hydrate.
I really do not want to see any of my brothers get injured and medically sperated like I was especially during down sizing.
Everyday I want to off myself because I miss the Corps.
If you do get hurt go to medical and ask for an MRI. The corps gave me an X-RAY (it won't see herniated discs.) And they said my back was fine. That it was due to bad back posture. They denied me an MRI. (Contact your Chaplin.) I came home and got an MRI by my doctor. Herniated discs. The Marine Corps fucked me physically for the rest of my life.

So the marine core changed their infantry school from 9 weeks to 14 weeks, the army changed their infantry osut from 14 weeks to 22 weeks, makeing infantry men capable of more indipendant thinking in leadership roles. One good thing the marines added was chess because apart from forceing the enemy to respond you have to see that your action will also force you to see the losses that will amount to poor strategy makeing as opposed to good strategy makeing like in chess.

    • @cm-pr2ys

We didn't have the new high speed, low drag scopes, or any sight for that matter nor did we conduct fully student led mock engagements, (if I understand that correctly), that's a good change. When I was in, we were trained to be a "leader" from day one! As far as teaching chess, using the actual game and pieces is shit! Teach the "concepts" with the use of individual, fire team, and squad fire and maneuver, you know, practical app. How to truly "adapt and overcome"! But hay! What do I know? I'm just a dumb Grunt! I'm probably more afraid for these young bucks than I ever was when I was at their age deploying overseas.I just remember how dudes were trying to deploy in the 00's just for that quick cash, and the potential of getting a purple heart license plate. This all feels different, the build up. the way all the world powers are all restructuring their forces ... whatever is on the horizon, it's gonna be way more awful than the GWOT. .

As a former army infantryman the fact the majority of marine infantrymen are E-3s and not E-4s blows my mind. The marines making killers on a budget.
