I LOVE that the Hunter being grabbed by the black flame sees the hyponome and just starts going crazy with his carving knife like “oh shit, oh shit, oh shit, oh shit!”
or he reincarnated into the black flame lol but in all honestly I feel like it would depend on if there is an open area for the locale that's large enough to fit him
It's honestly SO unbelievable just the _fact_ that they succeeded at creating the Black Flame as a monster let alone giving it to us to play. Think about it, it's uniqueness is unrivaled and only partially comparable to sm like Yama Tsukami or Nakarkos.... and yet here he is, in New Gen gloriousness and about to set a WHOLE new path for our future hunting, both in Wilds AND in the series as a whole
I don’t know why, but the black/white titles make me think cardinal directions, which makes me think there’ll be 4 total and the white wraith and black flame will be followed up with red and blue monsters for the story unique to their own areas
@@mangohub3252 See initially i thought the same as you and still pretty much agree, but i believe OP was thinking moreso of a regular compass than the Chinese one. However considering the title icon, this feels like a good theory.
@@mangohub3252 Black is generally linked with Genbu (tortoise) and White with Byakko (tiger) so maybe? Blue would be a dragon (Seiryuu), Red would be a bird (Suzaku), and center gold would be "Kirin" but that's already a thing so I don't think it'll go that way. I think it'll be more elemental: white wraith for wind, black flame for fire, blue for water/ice, and red/brown for earth. Although I could see other colors/elements, like Green Avalanche or Purple Wave.
This could give us more of the tale of the 5 dragons since it's meant to sequel world and indicates "extinct" Dragons. Like Shara represented the mountain dragon
@@treybrzezowski3259 Well either way I thought ya delivered it well even if I didn’t know the source being quoted, Thanks for making me laugh, I think that quote fits the monster quite well and now that’s all I’m gonna be thinking of whenever I see it lol. 😂
The Black Flame seems to me like it was made to pave the way for The reintroduction of underwater combat, as it would be a perfect skeleton to use when developing aquatic monsters.
Ooooooooooo, theory time, so on the Monster Hunter Website, they show the Apex Monsters in the bigger frames for each locale. The Black Flame, even though it doesn't have an official name, it has been specifically listed as the Apex of the Oilwell Basin. What if Arkveld is actually the Apex of a locale yet to be revealed (potential icy mountain area/also fits the White Wraith name) since it hasn't been associated with any of the locales shown so far? It's also curious how all of the returning monsters that have been confirmed are not listed to be under specific locales on the website either (Congalala, Yian Kut-Ku, Rathian, etc)
Seeing all of this speculation both in the video and in the comments is rather funny to me. I've pieced together everything already after realizing that Wild's logo is a symbolic representation of its story. I got to this conclusion by comparing visual elements of the logo with some of the small bits of information we've been given so far - combined with some pattern recognition and guess, admittedly, but it's continued to prove true so far. I'll tell you about it, but just know this is going to be a long one. Firstly, to be clear, the Black Flame is not a believed extinct monster, and it doesn't have any direct connection to Arkveld. It's the apex of the Oilwell Basin, and it's just continuing the pattern of the other Apexes. In the Wilds logo, you'll notice five circles which are all formed by an image of a serpentine dragon looping in on itself. Each of these circles represents one of the 5 major locales the game will feature, with the dragons representing each of the locales' Apex monster. The circle and the dragon are presented as one and the same because of how deeply each region and its Apex is connected in this game - notably by how much they utilize the environment. Rey Dau redirects the Windward Plains' lightning, Uth Duna creates huge waves in the Scarlet Forest's flooded waters, Black Flame utilizes the Oilwell Basin's oil to burn prey, you get the idea. Once you realize there are these intentional patterns in the Apexes, hinted at by the logo, you can piece together some other things they share. For example, each Apex has a unique element - Lightning, Water, and Fire so far. Given we know there's five of them, this means there will be one Apex for each traditional element in Monster Hunter - so the next Apex will be an Ice monster. "The Black Flame" reveals another pattern these Apexes share - their titles. I expect each one will have a title following this naming scheme. Rey Dau may also be known as the "Yellow Devil," for example. "But why is this establishing a pattern when theres only one titled Apex," you may ask. Simple. There's a second - Arkveld the White Wraith. Following what we can deduce from these patterns and the story the logo is conveying, we can deduce that Arkveld is the fifth and final Apex of a currently unseen region, and we can use its strange purple energy and process of elimination to know it is the Dragon element apex. "But how is it an apex of a region if it is seemingly nomadic," you may ask. Once again, the logo tells us the answer. You'll notice that the fifth circle at bottom, rather than being a perfect circle, has its dragon break off from it and fly upwards through the other four dragon circles. Matching this up with a previous trailer showing Arkveld duking it out with the other Apexes, the answer becomes clear. The story of the game, as told by the logo, will be about Arkveld breaking free from its natural habitat, invading the other locales, and killing their Apexes for a currently unknown purpose. Now, notice that there is a final, sixth, and much larger serpentine dragon snaking its way _down_ the logo, opposite of the dragon that represents Arkveld. This, in my mind, very clearly represents the big secret Elder Dragon final boss we all know is coming, as per Monster Hunter tradition. Notably, it's snaking down toward the bottom circle that the Arkveld dragon has left behind, and it's drawn as just an empty outline - as if it is hiding or undetected. I believe the big twist of this game is going to be that Arkveld's rampage across the other regions will create an opening or opportunity for this mysterious Elder Dragon to sneak in and seize Arkveld's original territory, causing even greater trouble in the process. Lastly, I just want to point out that the bottom circle has a small unique symbol that seems to be an egg in a nest. I suspect this egg is of course Akrveld's, and that _either_ Arkveld is going on a rampage to remove all nearby potential threats to its unborn young, _or_ that the final Elder Dragon is sneaking its way into Arkveld's unattended home territory to try to eat the egg - and we may have to stop it so that the egg can hatch and Arkveld won't go extinct as a species. I'm not sure which yet. It could be both.
It feels like they’re really revisiting old concepts like the ancient civilization from the looks of the locals. Crossing my fingers for the EDW in the expansion🤞
Since it's a apex I'm leaning on new classification/extinct species. Just because it's unlikely to make an elder the apex since that's just not in their nature, they are forces of nature that can destroy or change whole ecosystems.
I hope it’s just a monster classification. I would love for multiple land octopus monsters to show up in this game. Imagine the last zone we get an ice octopus or something.
Hmm, so this might be a stretch, but I think there may be 4 of these titled monsters, and there monikers may be modeled after the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. The white rider is the harbinger of conquest, which fits a bit with Arkveld fighting Rey Dau in his nest and strangling Uth Duna in her territory. The red rider is the harbinger of war, black is famine, and pale is death. 😅
Also we, the hunter, are famine. Running around killing all the predators, so herbivores/insects multiply like crazy and decimate the crops. And let's face it, we'd be too busy fighting our 60th teostra to bother with 10 bnahabras ganking a farm.
Alternatively I propose another set of four. The four cardinal guardians. Though to be honest yours have some good connections. But here we go. Genbu. The Black Warrior. Often Depicted as a Turtle Snake, or simply a turtle. But it's original monicker Black Warrior can be loosely interpreted into the inspiration of the Black Flame. Byakko. The White Tiger. Though this observation can be mostly seen off the fur design of the White Wraith really. We arguably have a Seiryu from Uth Duna but that makes Rey Dau the odd one out, and they don't have the same Extinct Species monicker that Black Flame and White Wraith have. Though there's some loose relation in how Byakko is replaced by Kirin whose represented by a Yellow or Gold. Hence Arkveld gunning for Rey Dau lol. Either ways your idea is more solid than mines. XD
@@jaylenegolley2051 Oh! I was think Australia in terms of the cut off from the rest of the world for long time = freaky weird evolution and ancient animals
I don't think that the Black Flame will be part of a wyvern or dragon category, but will be in a brand new category called Kraken, Cephalopod, Mollusk, or something like that
For the Classification it could be someting comparable to the Origin Species we had in Frontier. The definition of an Origin Species is: These monsters are even closer related to their ancestors than other monsters. These monsters keep many primitive characteristics their ancestors had, and are considered to be quite an old species that may have even lived in ancient times. With Espinas in Sunbreak the door for more Frontier Monsters has opened and with the possibility of Monsters that was classified as extinct coming in the game other Origin Monster like Voljang or Gureadomosu could come in the game. Or we could see Monsters like Igurueibisu, Sherureusu or as in the Video mentioned the Ancient Serpent. An other thing could be like the case of Borudoru and Hypnocatrice as they are direct descendants of the extinct Monsters known to the Guild.
I understand the TH-cam reason and am not really bothered by it. I honestly find it kind of comical at this point that almost every bit of news speculation and discussion has major franchise altering repercussions. Like if seeing the fishing harpoon return as an item and saying it’s just as groundbreaking as Espinas being announced for Sunbreak… then again the fishing harpoon would suggest the return of underwater comb-
@@RageGamingVideosKeep it up lads. Your videos in my opinion have been consistently the best content covering MH for the past 5-6 years. Funny, informative and genuine. You aren't just doing it to cash in on the hype, you are all clearly very passionate about monster hunter and this is shown in the content. We all know the YT algorithm is BS and you need to do what you need to do for your videos to remain relevant and in focus. But please don't let it get you down. See you in the wilds ✌🏻
I would be SO happy for other titled monster like this! Like in base world where you make your way through the locales before the elders show up. Lets say in wilds you do the same. Male your way through the locale, meet the local tribes, beat some monster faces and go about your job. But after meeting the white wraith in the trailer with the reveal is the start of these titled monsters waking from their slumber, making their presence known. This is speculation obviously, but thatd be super cool 😎
On the logo there is a white dragon and a black dragon. Arkveld is called the White Wraith and also the Chain Blade Wyvern, a wyvern is similair to a dragon in general fantasy. So you could say it's a white dragon. The Black Flame is black (not a big surprise), so maybe it could be the black "dragon"? They then could share a special category of extinct "dragons" (Yeah the theory is a bit shaky) (MH Wilds will be my first MH so I don't know almost nothing about the licence yet)
I believe the switch axe set we saw is from a scorpion monster since the axe blade looks like two sets of pincers and then there's a third stinger shaped blade that slides to the end for sword mode.
With how different rompopolo ended up being from what people expected the hammer armor set monster to be, who knows what the ice monster might be. For all we know, it might be a snake wyvern with tusks/fangs and a stinger tail. I love how unique the monster designs have been so far in this game. All I know is I will farm so much for that switch axe.
Surprised you didn't mention the logo having what looks like a black serpent going down and a white serpent going up - that was my immediate thought when seeing the whole 'black flame, white wraith' thing
Wait... if we _are_ indeed going to be fighting extinct species... does this mean that the Frontier's Origin Species might have a shot at getting on the roster? Am I gonna get jumped by Voljang while fighting something?
@@davidgergely4593 not really, uragaan is more of an explosion monster and emits an aoe fire from it. What I’m envisioning with a fire related subspecies of Radobaan is the oil on its body is now on fire and would leave fire puddles.
After this i might venture a guess that Wilds story is about how the wild is taking back control of the places where human population is few and far between and extinct species are starting to reemerge after a long time or since the fall of the ancient civ. the latter imo is the less likely but who knows maybe the when the Guild means extinct they mean in their records or the salvaged records of the ancients. These are just my thoughts at the end of the day. Cool video and thanks for entertaining us while we all wait.
I think this basically confirms the intro to magic/mana if you guys played the really old monster hunter games. Can’t wait for a spell slinger builder from the armor/weapon.
Akantor and ukanlos can very well fill up the unique category of extinct species that's brought back to life. They also have those legendary titles of the black and white god
I have a feeling we could get a new member for the duo this game; it’s already been theorized that there’s a desert cousin of ukanlos and akantor maybe he could show up and be an “extinct” species.
I love how i just now noticed that when the black flame rolls up that its gripping two ajarakans in both tentacles hes just manhandling multiple diet voljangs and not even breaking a sweat
I really thought that nothing could make me more excited for Wilds, but a brand new skeleton, AND the fact that it's a cephalopod is INSANE!! I've been wanting to fight giant octopi in Monster Hunter literally FOREVER!!! I've always said there should be more water monsters, and it's unfortunate that it is another fire monster, but man. This opens the door for a unique, water-based octopus monster, which I know is the only thing that can overthrow Lagiacrus as my favorite 🐙🐙🐙
I love how the Guild's response to anything remotely dangerous is "If we pretend it doesn't exist, it can't hurt us" Although tbf, part of the reason maybe to prevent the people from going into an Arms Race with the monsters, since that's what caused the War. If people don't feel the need to research much more powerful technology because existing is enough for most monsters, the growth of said technology would be much slower than if people knew about the sheer number of actual monstrosities out there.
I like to think of it as game stated, the area in which wilds takes place was unexplored due to the misconception of their being no usefulness to the guild. This means that their was no hunter interaction with the fauna and flora which allowed the evolution of monsters to not be as fast since their was less competition for life. Hence the reemergence of long thought extinct monsters
The White Wraith. The Black Flame. Am I the only one who thinks we might get a massive clash between these two, like white represents good, and black represents evil kinda thing?
Or perhaps both monsters are feared by their respective local tribes but they’re not actually hostile; think about it, the Black Flame grabbed two Ajarakan who were likely two seconds away from massacring the people of Azuz… Perhaps the Black Flame incident that man had a flashback of, was simply the result of those before him tampering with the Everforge and enraging the Black Flame, but upon seeing the fear in their eyes, i.e. it was an accident; the beast spares them just this once That’s my theory anyway, maybe the Black Flame is a brooding but righteous protector of it’s domain who was simply misunderstood
If the current theory of Arkveld making its way through each locale(purpose unknown atm) yo defeat each Apex(also unknwon why) then it would make sense these would cross paths.
Something I have not heard anything about but Josh takled/speculated a lot on before, but now I think its time to think on it again. The Logo for Wilds; 4 small wyverns an 2 big ones. I think the zone apexes are the 4 and then Arkveld being one of the 2. But what if Arkveld is one of the 4? Discuss my fellow MH fans, "I WANT CHAOS"
There is also potential for more frontier monsters to make an appearance on this topic. For example, Meraginasu is a previously thought to be extinct monster which was found living in underground caves found on Tide Island. Since Meraginasu and Espinas are kind of related, and visually *similar*, I don't see his appearance as farfetched.
I thought the same when The Black Flame was introduced in the trailer that it may have a connection with Arkveld but when I went to the official website, unlike The White Wraith Arkveld, The Black Flame was given the mark of the Region Apex like Rey Dau and Utah Duna
Something to note is that, in an interview from Gamescom where Ryozo Tsujimoto and Yuya Tokuda answered some questions, they noted that there would be some focus on "extinct Monsters", but they wouldn't be a major category of Monsters in the game and instead are just normal Monster species that are extinct.
The fact that there's been no Guild presence in the Forbidden Lands for a thousand years could even add to this. We've hunted them to near or total extinction in the old world, but with no Guild hunters to cull them in the Forbidden Lands, a few survivors might have taken root over the centuries
i still think Arkveld and Black Flame has something to do with the Wilds logo having 2 monsters in the center (one black and one lighter almost like white) and 2 other monsters coming from the bodies of the main ones. Maybe Arkveld and Black Flame are the main monsters and each of the Apex monsters (presumably 4) have something to do with them like 2 monsters being Arkveld's guardians and 2 monsters being Black Flame's creations or being corrupted by it.
My theory is that the black flame was a mechanical creation because its head does not look organic. It could have been created for the same reason as the theorized "equal dragon weapon" to protect the village or kill something but it backfires.
I’m hyped for the Beta. I took off work and keep thinking today is Sunday when it’s actually Saturday. So I need to make my Sunday go as fast as possible bc the hype is real.
It does sound like extinct species will be the focus of this game over elder dragons. If that's the case, then the scarlet forest's extinct species would probably be something like the Blue Mist (given the heavy water theme) or Green Rain (to give an ode to both the wet area and forest area of scarlet forest).
I actually really like the idea of these like “extinct” monsters that have become sort of tribal legend or myth but still exist, it basically puts them in the same place Elder Dragons are but they aren’t Elder Dragons keeping with the theme that the developers have said about a lesser focus on Elder Dragons
I feel that the Black Flame is a extinct species but I'd love for this to be a new monster classification as they tend to add new ones with every generation, a cephalopod/mollusk group of monsters would be awesome. I did some digging and folks on Reddit posted Nakarkos concept art and the developers had a lot of interesting ideas from a clam to a snail and lastly an octopus. I feel this is only the being of this new monster type like, now I'm just waiting for a killer snail or clam to show up.
With Arkveld as the Nergigante of Wilds, I wonder if Black Flame is the Teostra; replacing him in a way. It really looks like it could fit that role, and I have a hard time imagining it isn't that, lol. Then that raises the question of whether or not Rey Dau or Uth Duna are also the "elder dragon" of their locale like Black Flame might be. Rey Dau at least doesn't seem like the same level in uniqueness, power, or importance, yet they're all called the apex of their locale. What a conundrum.
In my playgroup, i've been saying primal/extinct monsters would be cool, was hoping for an old world game, imagine if you would monsters that are bigger, more ferocious and to combat them we get to use the old advanced tech and get to see all the ruins in their heyday. Having re-awoken monsters or primal examples is a nice bridge to that
Kinda reminds me of Pokemon, how they (usually) have a different legendary 'mon for each game, and the games come in pairs. So Arkveld is like the flagship legendary for this game, and the Black Flame is the flagship legendary for its nonexistent partner game, being mostly equal, but not getting as much story spotlight or importance as the 'mon on the cover
Probably not as a monster like that could only really be in expansions and it kind of requires a lot of story around it and we know how Ryozo feels about EDs this time around
So they've given us: • arkveld (extinct) • black flame (extinct) • ajarakan, who looks very much like voljang (extinct) • rey day, who looks very much like the original concept art for zinogre (i.e. could be the extinct zinogre) This might just be a massive coincidence but i really think they're playing into the whole 'extinct' thing in Wilds.
when introduced, my mind went in the direction: has to do something with the final boss. your not the only one, who made that link. i do hope to see more exstinkt beasts, nver knew about that book though. hope wilds makes use of that for some monsters on the rooster.
So what if the other apex mons have tribal titles we haven’t heard yet? Like what if Uth Doona is “The Prismatic Chonk” or Rae Dao being the yellow tempest or something and they just haven’t told us because of story purposes to keep us thinking. Although I really do like the idea of thought to be extinct “legendary titled mons”. I think that would be truly awesome. I just want the first thought to be true as well so the prismatic chonk or perhaps chonker could be a thing.
I think it might be leaning more towards a new fated four. That would be my hope. All 4 of the fated four were different types of monsters hopefully we get something like that.
Look at the Wilds logo 4 circles 2 long wyverns 4 circles could be the 4 big titled monsters white wraith, black flame and 2 unannounced one We have a desert, volcanic and forest biome so ice possibly? Meaning the last 2 would be representing those areas As for the two long wyverns I'm going to say it, new snake wyverns that are sex specific like the Rath duo. Probably a stretch but its possible
This actually makes me really curious. We have nakarcos, yama Tsukami, and now the black flame. This makes we wonder if the white wraith is a previously thought extinct monster than perhaps the black flame is an ancestor to nakarcos. Though also it makes me wonder given your points in the video of their are multiple extinct monsters coming back might we get a previously thought extinct elder dragon? I think it would also really fit the themes going with monsters like Saphijiva from world, maybe even a creature that refuses to go to the guiding lands, which is the graveyard for elder dragons from what we know and has some odd power it contains or metaphorical wellspring it's come across that allows it to keep going, which then either infected or influenced the other ancient monsters. I'm not an expert oh MH lore feel free to discuss wonder or challenge this idea
Looking at the new locale, the voice lines from this trailer and the first trailer after the reveal, I feel like the story is going to have a lot of Ancient Civilisation stuff in it
I'm thinking we are going to get 6 of these guys. You were saying that there was a possibility of this game having 6 Elders, as because of the Cover Symbol having 6 Dragons, but we just got told that Elders are not going to be the main focus of this game, so to me I think we are going to get 6 Extint species of Monsters to come back and be introduced in this game and they will have these color nicknames. White Wraith, Black Flame, if I'm right we may get the other 4 Color Coded monsters.
@@VelkhanaTheIceborneWyvern What about Lagiacrus? It is likely he may be in the game as a secret returning monster considering the leviathan skeleton being used for Balahara, but I doubt he is an Extinct Monster. Is he?
I hope this can mean that more monsters can get that elder dragon love. Late game equipment and archtempered variations even if they don't necessarily have the classification. Always feels weird when you get so late on the series that the only meaningful monsters are the elders.
I’m just hoping that this will start a Kraken category for cephalopod-like monsters. Bonus points for Capcom if they actually do call the category “Krakens”.
Josh loves his tentacles a little too much. I love his original nickname for this guy, tartopus. I kind of hope there's an event quest with him that embraces the meme, "tartopus OfTartarus" 2:42 "Dance the jig and prove your worth." "Ye look like a pirate, can ye dance like one?" They may just use the extinct speceis excuse, maybe that's why he's title only and no name yet. I hope that's not the case because, if it is, that means they are less likely to make more like him. If they just say "yeah he's a rare thought to be extinct thing" then it's an excuse to not have more monsters like him in the future. Now, monsters have been reclassified in the past, they renanamed what is now fanged beasts from a name that was basically monkey and when najarala was made they added snake wyverns as a class and reclassified remobra as one. This is to say that, while they could change their mind later, it would be sad to have this thing be alone in its monster classification. We have a couple classes, like snake wyverns that haven't had more than one monster in them, excluding subspecies, and Zinogre was alone, excluding subspecies/variants, until World so 2 generations. That does mean that, on that kind of schedule, we should get a new snake and bug. But we haven't had a new crab, save suspecies/deviants, since MH2 in 2006 so 4 generations. Bottom line: I want more snakes, I want more crabs, I want more bugs, and I want more... Whatever the hell this thing is. 7:20 Well, pretty sure they'd save papa piscine wyvern for the next underwater game... 7th gen.... Maybe? 9:17 Poor one out for the primal forest and the jurassic frontier.
I think Black Flame is a prisoner, possibly utilised by the tribes to power the forge. The theme has already been implied with arkveld being chained to the wall in a promo image. Almost positive the tribes are the bad guys haha
I think the chain wyvern is from the ice area and escaped. I would be surprised that more "ancient" monsters popped up later. Also some of the monster designs feel more foreign then usual monsters
Monster Hunter: *releases a trailer with a new mosquito monster as well as confirmation that bug monsters are returning* Ragegamingvideos: *crickets* Wow, did not expect that from these two
"Extinct" does not mean that they all have to be ancient species that other species we are already familiar with are descended from. It just means that they went extinct at some point in time. To give a real-world example, The Thylacine is an extinct species, but it is not some ancient creature that went extinct tens (if not hundreds) of thousands or even millions of years ago. It was a modern creature, that went extinct very recently, because it was HUNTED (hint hint) by humans to the point of extinction after being (wrongfully) declared a nuisance/pest (to farmers and ranchers mostly). And so far, all that has been said in the trailers about Arkveld (the only currently confirmed extinct species in the game), is that it is an "extinct species". Nothing has been said about it being an "ancient" species or "only being know from fossils" or anything to imply that went extinct in ancient or prehistoric times. Just that it is known TO THE GUILD (which is definitely not an ancient or pre-historic organization) as being extinct. If anything, this implies that in the records kept by the guild since their formation, they have that Arkveld as a species used to exist, until the guild (and/or other organizations such as various kingdoms' knight orders and such) hunted them to extinction. Hell, it would not surprise me one bit if much like with the real-world Thylacine, Arkveld itself as a species was hunted to extinction simply because people decided to wrongfully demonize it as a threat, when in reality it was just an animal minding its own business and only occasionally getting into scraps with humans, with even most of those instances due to being either sick, or due to the humans deciding to fuck with it just because humans have a habit of doing stupid shit to wild animals (and even domesticated ones) and then blame the animal for being violent or evil when it very understandably attempts to defend itself the squishy human gets hurt as a result. But hey, that's just..... ... my two cents. (you thought I was gonna say something else, didn't you?)
an interesting theory i have is that the extinct species probably have connections to the ancient civilization, especially due to the arkveld chain picture and since these are forbidden lands how are there tribes living there, which leads to my theory what if all the tribes we have found are the survivors of the ancient civilization this is backed up by them living there for generations its not like they just recently moved there, but this leads to another question i have why have we not seen any wyvarians yet, they can be found all over the continent so why not here.
Well if this whole extinct monster thing is the case they definitely have the opportunity to introduce the best monster subclassification in Monster Hunter Frontier; Origin Species. Of course those are basal monsters, kind of like the difference between a Jungle Cat (more basal) and a Domestic Cat (more derived) rather than what seems to be going on with wilds which is a Lazarus Taxon.
Could the Black Flame be the Wilds logo? The ends of the tentacles could be mistaken as dragon heads especially since it is shown spewing fire from the ends and they also look mouth like. One of you pointed out in a previous video that Black Flame has 6 tentacles which matches the number of serpentine dragons in the logo. If the lore is that Black Flame is a long beleived exstinct monster the legend of it may have been distorted as it was passed down the generations so instead of one monster with six flame spewing tentacles the people may have come to believe that they are six individuals that hunt in packs, like the other monsters in the region.
I definitely thought of that they might bring back extinct monsters I would love to see wyvern Rex Also that giant bird from one of the books fighting rathalos
Maybe there is an extinct Species for each Dragon in the Titlelogo? (still would like a Martial Arts/Fighting Monk kinda Weapon.Bodyslammin Monsters would be awesome.)
Hopefully it is not just me, but has anyone noticed a similarity between the music that plays for the black flame and the music that plays for the white wreath? I know they aren’t exactly the same but they have very similar melodies in them. If we are trying to connect these two monsters as something of relevance, then I feel like the music might have a similarity with each other as well if that makes sense..

The Black Flame seems to me like it was made to pave the way for
The reintroduction of underwater combat, as it would be a perfect skeleton to use when developing aquatic monsters.
Look up the steelbook copy for wilds and Arkveld is in a snow locale
Damn I wish I was as smart as you. My brain just sees "whoa cool logo" 😅
Still hope this game is gonna seriously expose the guild for doing some dark sh*t in the past.
7:57 if you look in the background you can see the two ajarakan that the black flame picks up later in the trailer
It feels like they’re really revisiting old concepts like the ancient civilization from the looks of the locals. Crossing my fingers for the EDW in the expansion🤞
Glad I am not the only one going maaayyybe maybe about the equal dragon weapon finally being a thing
Idk they said there would be less of a focus on elders so less super powerful elders for the equal dragon weapon to fight
This thing is either an elder dragon or a new monster classification.
Definitely
Definitely a new classification
Since it's a apex I'm leaning on new classification/extinct species. Just because it's unlikely to make an elder the apex since that's just not in their nature, they are forces of nature that can destroy or change whole ecosystems.
I hope it’s just a monster classification. I would love for multiple land octopus monsters to show up in this game. Imagine the last zone we get an ice octopus or something.
@@LycanDreams9159 could be the subspecies 😁 or variant
Hmm, so this might be a stretch, but I think there may be 4 of these titled monsters, and there monikers may be modeled after the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. The white rider is the harbinger of conquest, which fits a bit with Arkveld fighting Rey Dau in his nest and strangling Uth Duna in her territory. The red rider is the harbinger of war, black is famine, and pale is death. 😅
Khezu is death confirmed
Also we, the hunter, are famine. Running around killing all the predators, so herbivores/insects multiply like crazy and decimate the crops. And let's face it, we'd be too busy fighting our 60th teostra to bother with 10 bnahabras ganking a farm.
This fits with the logo too. 4 smaller monster depictions and the 2 big ones. I think there'll be 2 end game big bads to go with the 4 horsemen
@@jachorycurry4468so 4 apex, 4 extinct? That sounds awesome!
XD

I like the idea of old vs new monsters clashing. That would be an interesting theme for the monsters in this game.
For the Classification it could be someting comparable to the Origin Species we had in Frontier. The definition of an Origin Species is:
These monsters are even closer related to their ancestors than other monsters.

I love how the Guild's response to anything remotely dangerous is "If we pretend it doesn't exist, it can't hurt us"
Although tbf, part of the reason maybe to prevent the people from going into an Arms Race with the monsters, since that's what caused the War. If people don't feel the need to research much more powerful technology because existing is enough for most monsters, the growth of said technology would be much slower than if people knew about the sheer number of actual monstrosities out there.
First guy I have seen talking about the bew skeleton. I can't believe no one was as excited as I was
I like to think of it as game stated, the area in which wilds takes place was unexplored due to the misconception of their being no usefulness to the guild.
I feel like it'll be like 2 gods, fighting to see who is the strongest and who runs things is my guess. So the clash might happen for that reason
Or perhaps both monsters are feared by their respective local tribes but they’re not actually hostile; think about it, the Black Flame grabbed two Ajarakan who were likely two seconds away from massacring the people of Azuz…
Perhaps the Black Flame incident that man had a flashback of, was simply the result of those before him tampering with the Everforge and enraging the Black Flame, but upon seeing the fear in their eyes, i.e. it was an accident; the beast spares them just this once
That’s my theory anyway, maybe the Black Flame is a brooding but righteous protector of it’s domain who was simply misunderstood
Red...Crimson Fatalis?
If the current theory of Arkveld making its way through each locale(purpose unknown atm) yo defeat each Apex(also unknwon why) then it would make sense these would cross paths.
I don't think that "The Black Flame" is an extinct species specifically because on the site it says it's the "Apex" of the Oil Biome.
I like the idea of having 4 color monsters and a 5th at the center of them that could be the final boss
Since Meraginasu and Espinas are kind of related, and visually *similar*, I don't see his appearance as farfetched.
i had a funny idea what if all these apex monsters have those kinds of titales like Rey Dau being the yellow bolt or Uth Duna being the rainbow wave
Makes sense; still cool though, but that makes you wonder what are they going to do for the super monsters( ie. afflicted)🤔
The fact that there's been no Guild presence in the Forbidden Lands for a thousand years could even add to this. We've hunted them to near or total extinction in the old world, but with no Guild hunters to cull them in the Forbidden Lands, a few survivors might have taken root over the centuries
Day 2 of counting "this changes everything" in the title
i still think Arkveld and Black Flame has something to do with the Wilds logo having 2 monsters in the center (one black and one lighter almost like white) and 2 other monsters coming from the bodies of the main ones. Maybe Arkveld and Black Flame are the main monsters and each of the Apex monsters (presumably 4) have something to do with them like 2 monsters being Arkveld's guardians and 2 monsters being Black Flame's creations or being corrupted by it.
I hope "it" poses multiple targets ,like having to watch -> would -> disable each tentacle kind of situations.....coz' that would be cool
My theory is that the black flame was a mechanical creation because its head does not look organic. It could have been created for the same reason as the theorized "equal dragon weapon" to protect the village or kill something but it backfires.
Would love to see that wyvern rex become a fully realized monster some day.
I’m hyped for the Beta. I took off work and keep thinking today is Sunday when it’s actually Saturday. So I need to make my Sunday go as fast as possible bc the hype is real.
Man i still remeber, when you talked about the ancient serpent.
Crimson glacier actually sounds kinda cool.
Now that we've got the Black Flame, we need a category for cephalopod monsters. Krakens maybe?
Having re-awoken monsters or primal examples is a nice bridge to that
Desert area white wraith, volcano area black flame, (hopefully) snow area red killer, jungle area green giant
This ties into the title art being leviathan, perhaps the Ancestor Leviathan is the Final Boss
I would love to see the Black Flame and the White Wraith as Rivals, Like how Akantor and Ukanlos are just rivals by pure Instinct
I really hope we get ancient variants of different monsters , like ancient zinogre , nargacuga etc
SInce there are 2 monsters already associated with oil/tar i wonder if Gogmazios is on the table?
Probably not as a monster like that could only really be in expansions and it kind of requires a lot of story around it and we know how Ryozo feels about EDs this time around
@@NamelessPigeon-w3r oh! didnt know that, did Ryozo say he wanted less EDs?
@TheDtzcrptr no just that wilds will have not have a focus on EDs

• ajarakan, who looks very much like voljang (extinct)

Look at the Wilds logo
4 circles
2 long wyverns
4 circles could be the 4 big titled monsters white wraith, black flame and 2 unannounced one
We have a desert, volcanic and forest biome so ice possibly? Meaning the last 2 would be representing those areas
As for the two long wyverns I'm going to say it, new snake wyverns that are sex specific like the Rath duo.
Looking at the new locale, the voice lines from this trailer and the first trailer after the reveal, I feel like the story is going to have a lot of Ancient Civilisation stuff in it
I can tell cotton is going to be a big fan of this monster considering he likes Yama sukami.
I think those symbols might include the other two Apex as extinct species. At least two more left to be revealed though.

Bonus points for Capcom if they actually do call the category “Krakens”.
its probably based on the logo somehow. two similar monikers for monsters. could be the 4 circles. not sure how the serpents would come in though
Game story: Extinct monsters, coming back.

2:42 "Dance the jig and prove your worth." "Ye look like a pirate, can ye dance like one?"
They may just use the extinct speceis excuse, maybe that's why he's title only and no name yet.

Wow, did not expect that from these two
"Extinct" does not mean that they all have to be ancient species that other species we are already familiar with are descended from.
It feels like we will have a more than 1 flagship
The Red sea is coming 7:04
Crimson tide
That would imply that there should be one of these Extinct monsters for the forest map but all we got is Uthduna
I definitely thought of that they might bring back extinct monsters
I would love to see wyvern Rex
Also that giant bird from one of the books fighting rathalos
Maybe there is an extinct Species for each Dragon in the Titlelogo?
(still would like a Martial Arts/Fighting Monk kinda Weapon.Bodyslammin Monsters would be awesome.)
I love the skeleton but I hope they use it kinda sparingly caused it be kinda weird to have a shit ton of new octopus monsters
