I have a theory. The reason why your Hunter doesn't shout "So tasty!" in a dangerous or insecure location is because they don't want to give away the location of the camp to large monsters that might want to destroy it. And the reason they don't say it in the interim camp is because they don't want to share.

I know about the bottom camp spot being one of the most unique because it's classified as safe from monster attacks(as others are classified as high risk, unsafe etc.), but man you did god's work for uncovering this with your unwavering mission.

If you think about it, only in a secluded but completely safe area can you have the perfect focus to create the perfect steak. No monsters or other hunters/villagers to distract you, only you, the steak, your noisy cat buddy and this lady that keeps following you. Optimal conditions.

I'd guess some of the more territorial monsters would view your Portable Camps located on risky zone as disturbance to their turf and would try to destroy it if left unchecked

You know I did the same thing and quit after a day. I couldn’t find it I didn’t understand how to trigger it and on the last day. As I was hunting endemic life, I made the trip to that camp. And it happened. I believed that I had hallucinated it. I shadowplayed it back and I was stupefied. To the “Tasty” hunters. You are not crazy.
The closest I get is Alma say something like "way to go grillmaster!" for a 12x well-done steak(not exact quote but it something about praising hunter as a grillmaster) which I think comes from japanese version in previous MH game

There is another safe camp location I found, the blue crystal caverns towards the top of the map, near the base camp. Good to know safe camps are the condition to trigger it, well done!
I don't watch streams as much anymore but I've been watching your videos since the first one 3 years ago, and boi am I glad you still use MH3 musics. I started with this MH so there's a lot of nostalgia for me there and it's a nice throw back just for that and just makes me want to turn on my Wii and get some good old under water hunts going! Huh, interesting. I got the so tasty sound myself when I managed to get the timing right for the first time. All this time I thought it was just a matter of timing and didnt think much of it. Your video made me realize how lucky I was - because I was indeed cooking the meat near a tent (it was a different camp though!)

This is the kind of detail that I sought the entire demo. I found the cheese ingredient in the Kunafa Village (all food look tasty in the game, but man, the cheeze), looked for all capturalble wild life, etc. I was a bit sad they changed the song of cooking, but could live with it, but I did not notice the lack of ''so tasty'' Also, there were other safe camps, you just missed them.
I did the exact same thing as you, but I gave up and just looked for cool, off the beaten path, spots... and went to all of the safe areas after giving up the hunt for "so tasty." I actually met the conditions... but didn't cook.
I do enjoy the new mini game, the way I was able to get it perfect in the first beta was to close my eyes and listen to it because if I didn’t I’d usually miss the last cut
