    Hi Joanie
    Whilst I do love these “lectures” I’ve noticed of late you have steered away from the practical education. A few years ago I started following you because you literally showed me how you took photos. How you styled and how you used the lighting to produce an image. I learnt a lot. But now it seems you just sit and talk. And don’t get me wrong, another reason why I followed you is cause you are easy to listen to. You are a lovely lady. I just wish you’d go back and do some more practical “how to” videos.
    I miss the how to Joanie 😊

    Brilliant, thank you so much. I’m rebuilding my website, so this is well timed.
    “Available for remote” is a key word that’s definitely going in my availability.

    Hi Joanie, thank you for your input on portfolios it was interesting to watch. You make it sound like you are new to motion (which is my thing), so I went visit your portfolio. I hope you don't mind I give you some feedback about the motion section. The GIFs: the quality is not very high and show sometimes green pixels, even when the files are quite large (13 -18 MB is too much!). I would suggest export them better quality and then scale the file size down, you can get them easily down to ~500kB. Or make looping video's on repeat without displaying controls. It gives a much better result!

    You are just SO good! Totally nice and friendly and positive. I got some useful information that I didn’t think of myself. Struggle with my homepage constantly - never sure if it is good enough. And it is just so much work doing it by yourself 😊.
    What I would like to know is how you scale your photos so that they are sharp but not too “heavy”.
    Love from Austria

    Hi Joanie, enjoy watching your channel. How did you start out, did you cook your own food? Did you buy pre-made food? Just curious. Thank you in advance for your answer. My son( a chef for Marriott Hotels) asked me last week about food photography. (His boss was wanting to know) I referred my son to you and sent him links to a few of your videos.( My name is Lee Peterson, I live approx. 50 mi. SE of Tuscon)

    Oh, common, Joan! Photography is a visual art. I judge photographers by their pictures not by what is written on their website under the section About. If I like the pictures I hire the person even she writes about herself: "I am just coping because I am a bloody loser" U-u-u-u-u-u, somebody give me a tissue to wipe my nose!!! A-a-a-a-a-ah...!

      Whilst your point of view is valid, Google ranks sites based on content (text) and keywords. So text is a necessary evil for good ranking so the photos actually get eye on them.

    • @tedming3515
      @tedming3515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Miz-Newsy Nonsense. It's simply statistically impossible. Because the vocabulary of keywords is pretty limited and the number of those aspiring to get into the first 10 of search engine results is astronomical it's at least naive to think that if you put right keywords into your web page your progress will shoot through the sky. Try to move your webpage from 10 358 position in Google search results to... let's say 10 353 by simply editing your About section (putting "right" keywords in it) and see what happens.
      There is something else in play.
