Your review of the L1 Pro16 almost stopped me buyinh the L1 Pro8. However, I went ahead thinking I can always return it if I do not loke it. I am glad I did. In case anyone is wondering, The L1 Pro8 is dead silent whether you have cables plugged in or not. It is Loud so I cannot imagine how loud the 16 is. The Pro8 when used with the Long plastic Array extension does have a slight wobble only when moved but not enough for concern. With the Speaker array plugged straight in it is solid. Yes the array and enclosure is plastic but strong plastic and I suppose if we want light weight (which is why I went for this as age is not on my side) then string plastic it is. Oh that’s good it doesn’t make the hiss. Yeah the plastic material his very flimsy and can easily break. Very bad for someone that wants to move it over and over. If you’re setting it up and leaving it then it probably wouldn’t be a problem unless someone bumped into it slightly and broke it. But for the person that needs a solid piece of equipment that can take a beating and keep going (like the previous Bose systems) this one won’t work. It’ll be broke in no time at all. 😞. I own two Bose L1 Pro16's and I really think your review is honest, balanced (included both positive and negative) and straight to the point. The only thing that I disagreed with is the hissing sound. I have read lots of reviews about this problem but it's just not my experience. Both of my Pro16 don't make that hissing sound. On the other hand, I have another (biamp) PA system that I set up in the family room that would give out the hissing sound if I am not careful with the power cords, signal wires and speaker cables in the back of that system. The hiss would be there if the power cord touched other cables. I believe the way the power and signal cables was run in the back of the amp was a big contributing factor of the hissing sound coming out from the speakers. I think this is called electrical interference in audio field. Believe it or not, I'm not a big fan of Bose products (well, except their latest subwoofers). I don't think Bose speakers gives us the best sound. However, all things considered, I have to give them the credit/high points for their designs, creativity and portability.

Oh awesome! Thx for the recommendation!!
I was not happy with the Yamaha Stagepas 1k cause it did not have a separate knob for bass and treble. Please comment
Hey! Thx so much for stopping by and for your 2 cents! It could just be the one that I received that had the hissing sound problem but I've heard of others having it also but it could've just been the 1st batch problem idk. It would hiss with nothing plugged in and with it plugged into a conditioner which is supposed to eliminate any interference. I really hope they've taken care of that problem at least. Did you get yours recently?
@@musicandgearreviews I got mine around summer 2021. By the way, I also found that, in addition to the wobbly top, the L1 Pro8 and 16's design that places the tower speaker at the very front puts it at very high risk of being bumped into or knocked over. I think in the future Bose probably will move it to the center or back of the subwoofer.
@@therealtinmanable I agree 💯 I’ve heard many complaints about the tower on the 8 and 16. Tell me, have they done a software update for the reverb or is it only 1 reverb to choose from?
@@musicandgearreviews There's only one reverb to choose from. I use a Yamaha analog mixer that has built-in effects and that is sufficient for me. I'm not sure I'll ever want to use a Bose mixer. I never have much success with digital mixers. They tend to sound too "wifi" and less natural to my ears.
@@therealtinmanable Oh wow! I'm so disappointed that bose didn't use the opportunity of these new units to also make killer fx? That was supposed to be one of the main differences between the old and new units. Oh well. Hope they remedy this soon
sent mine back, OTT pricey plastic. Cool vid

Hey, do you have an HK system? If so, which one the 10” or 12”?

Agreed, I have the jmix and sounds amazing with more channels and better mixer than the Bose.

but not 180 grays in. sound @@musicandgearreviews
Check out the Fishman SA330x. You can add the Fishman sub if you want more bass for background music. I don’t use a sub for playing guitar and singing through it though. You’d want a Bluetooth receiver also since the 330 doesn’t have that feature. It’s well built and sounds really good for solo performances.
Maybe this is why we still have the option of powered speakers on a stand. Great observation of hands on experiences. Ty
I can almost guarantee that the hiss was due to you not seating the extensions properly. It happened to me once. If you take an extra 10 seconds on set up you would have corrected the issue.
I wish that was the case. I connected and reconnected it numerous times with the same results. If you check other reviews, others have said the same. I also read that they may have corrected it with later models so fingers crossed if you buy one.
@@musicandgearreviews I bought one 18 months ago. It’s great. Much better sound than the JBL or EV.
Part 4 when you decide to buy a HK RCF JBL etc
Oh you right!
