  • I slept on this song for years and found it through Stickfigure’s cover version. I’m finally getting my Loopy Pro set up dialed in.

    a, finally someone using the Roland HPD 20 sounds in a great way, hehe, very nice. Question about your vocalchain: do you use much vocal effects via LoopyPro-Plugins? i m wondering how good the latency is. Because usually, with DAWs on any system, at a certain point too complex effects of any sort greatly worsen the latency, until the timing feels completely off. (that's why dubFX seems to use a Line 6 Helix instead of only software plugins, i guess)

      Thank you! As for the vocal chain it’s just a compressor, delay, reverb and some slight saturation. They are all AUV plug-ins.I have no noticeable latency with this set up. I also think Dubfx has been using guitar pedals for his vocal effects for a long time so I think it’s what he’s used to

      @@JoshElliottMusic ok thank you! yes, reverb, compressor - that's always working for me, also in Ableton. But as soon as i try to emulate my RC505 (loopstation) pitch shifting effects in ableton, the latency gets far too high. I guess similar plugins will cause similar problems in Loopypro

    Hi we were corresponding on Facebook re your gig and using loopy/rc600...Nice work. I'm assuming you play solo? Question. Did you have the guitar part for the B section pre recorded in a loop? I didn't see you play it in? Just getting some ideas and want to to do as much live as possible. Thanks Josh.

      Hey thanks! Yes I play solo. Yes you noticed that. Good ear! Yes I prerecorded that B section. When songs have multiple sections I will pre record the b or c sections. It’s very seamless live and allows me to still live loop the a part and improvise between all sections freely. Songs with only one progression I do 100% live. On the RC-600 I just play all live though. (Simplified versions of songs) Each system has its benefits and I’m testing both to see what I will stick with.

      I’m actually taking Loopy Pro on it’s Maiden voyage in about 2 hours for a 3 hour gig

    Nice!! How did you shift the pitch of the loop up a 5th for that chorus section?

    • @JoshElliottMusic
      @JoshElliottMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! You know I was curious about how to do that but for this performance I actually recorded the chorus section before rolling the camera.

      @JoshElliottMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks man! I did sell the MPC One but I’m watching the Akai Force closely because Akai seems to be committed to updating it. Also still interested in hardware loopers still as well so I have my eye on RC-600

      @@JoshElliottMusic Ok wow so it works perfectly with the loopy pro. I have the Morningstar MC8 and the FC6 i can get the Launchpad pro MK3 and i have endless amounts of USBc interfaces. Would almost like to copy your situation, what are you using for your vocals and also what is the unit with the knobs next to you , is that the spitfire. Really amazing 👌

      Yea the Launchpad Automaps to Loopy Pro and the knob controller is the Midi Fighter Twister. Thanks again Wallace

      @JoshElliottMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean the one I loop the drums with that is a Roland Handsonic. It’s a stand alone unit. If you mean the colored one that is a Launchpad Pro MK3
