Been a sub for a while great channel, this videos saved me in finding a lock hahaha someone tried my lock last night and completely snapped it, worst part is my car got stolen a month ago only just got it back
Hi mate Gone back 2 years to find this video but might be a daft question ,do the keys come blank and you get them cut or do you supply Ford when ordering your reg or bin to pay extra to get them cut Many thanks
I ordered that part with that part number but I asked the person who I bought it off and they said it don’t work on the reg I gave him he said this is the part number u need 1757128 I’ve got a fiesta ST2 2013 ? Anyone know if I can use the one I bought which is the part number you provided in this video
There’s a video about how you remove the turn pin on the rear of the lock , circlip remove the disc , this then stops them from opening the door , down side is. If you have a flat battery an need to use the key your self it won’t work , but stops them as well ,
Hello there, mine got done in as well. Im scared of the car not being able to unlock again, does everyone have to reset that spring to have it unlocking again? Or can you show how to reset that spring?
Nice video My only criticism is I'd have put a blanking cap on and removed the lock altogether or at least taken the pins out so that if they did try the lock again they couldn't get the car open. Disklok and obd relocate isn't enough anymore, they've found ways or removing the disklok in minutes Additional approved immobiliser is now needed
Disclok are crap apart from a select few products, also pointless doing obd relocate unless they are brain dead, with the can-bus or uds you pretty much can access the whole vehicle network from virtually any electronic component not only the obd2 port, as its about the commands sent rather then where they were sent from to put it simply, so you send a unlock command, so alarm stays off and you can get in so you can hold a blank key to the transponder pickup, then a program key command and hey presto you got a new car, yes some manufacturers have made it a bit more involved but trust me security is a myth they make you believe as someone will always find a way, I'm a grease monkey thru and thru so deffo not against the car, but the only true security is not having a vehicle that can be stolen, Removable steering wheel is the ultimate deterrent however very impractical and loss of a airbag
Amazing that on modern cars it is still a requirement to use a key lock on one external door ... This is always the weakest security point. Deadlock ,central locking and alarm all defeated by a screwdriver and hammer .. crazy !!
How else do you think you could unlock the car if it has a flat battery? The worst modern security device is keyless entry and keyless ignition, lost count of the vw, audi, bmw and fords that have been recovered in stolen without keys.
@@roberttaylor465 I totally agree,, but surely there must be and should be a better security key set up ... Look at all the cars stolen in the 70's , 80's ,, etc through to today .. My company has a 50k transit broken into with a screwdriver .. We spent 400 pounds upgrading the locks as a result ...Surely the responsibility is with the manufacturer !! As this tech against a screwdriver !!!
I got called to a car once, flat battery as alarm been screaming days (parked at a farm owners away) and they destroyed the lock mech, the way i found to get power in the car to use the remote was to get under the engine, and disconnect the positive from the starter motor, then hooked a battery to that and earthed on the exhaust which gives the car enough power safely to unlock the car and open the bonnet
@@Sparkplugsteve great vid. The little sods tried to break into my wife's fiesta on Monday. Damged the lock. Do you know the part number for the updated stronger lock?

Can't thank you enough. I woke up to find the cap cover had gone and the lock was broken
Great video, will this barrel lock work for a keyless entry st3?

We did discuss that but if battery dies it's a smashed window to get in. We have taken other safety measures that should help. Thanks for watching.
What security do you recommend Steve??
They say a disklok and obd relocate.👍

How did you manage to remove the plastic door card panel with the window mechanism etc on I can’t get mine off
You have to un bolt the door locks
Hi did you find out how to remove the the plastic door card panel?
peeps been doing this to fiestas since the early 80s
dont they do a stronger updated lock ? iv got a good one on my mk7 transit
Yes there is a different one available
@@Sparkplugsteve great vid. The little sods tried to break into my wife's fiesta on Monday. Damged the lock. Do you know the part number for the updated stronger lock?
Perfect 👍
Thanks.
Hope mine goes easier than this! Stolen Sat, recovered Sunday. Lucky, but still shit.
Good video mate
Thank you
@@Sparkplugsteve no problem
Dont u need to change steering wheel key lock aswell
Push button Start.
@@Sparkplugsteve aha
Spark Plug Steve so what have a door lock at all?!
@@Cous1nJack In case the car battery is dead or the key fob is dead.
Nice vid bro, but that's why i don't buy a ford anymore, to easy to nick!!! 🙄
Weither its a ford or porsche there all as easy as each other, mk5 escorts were more secure then modern cars, and there rare as they all got nicked
You forgot to put the handle rubbers back on
I realised when I went to out lock on so done it off camera. Good spot.
The title seems unintentionally criminal..
Why? This fiesta was stolen recovered so definitely criminal. 😢
Spark Plug Steve yeah but it sounds like you personally stole the car and are about to swap the locks.
Ford would of charge about 200 for that
I bet Ford wouldn't have fixed the mechanism and charged for a new door mechanism. So 10k 😂
Did you ever get a 5 minute job that takes 5 minutes(never).
Haha rarely.
Mate come on. It's white. Wtf? Interesting vid though.
Iv let myself down I know. Haha. I really like them in white though.

Didn't film the strip down but fully filmed the reassembly... hmmm, I smell a rat 😉
I just wrote a whole explanation and deleted it as no explanation is needed.
